I have a son with Asperger's and I've spent a lot of time thinking about this. I'm learning towards thinking that those on the Autism spectrum might just be "the beginnings of another stage of human evolution", like Jean Grey talks about in X-Men. No, I'm not high, dumb or joking. It makes a certain sort of sense...
@m0m2two Any type of human behavior that deviates from the norm is evolution. For instance look at the 1960's counter couture which led Americans to Accept a new way of life. To Understand this subject in depth I would read "The Tangled Wing: Biological Constraints on the Human Spirit" By Dr. Konner MD, Phd. Evolution in homo-sapiens is led cultural diversity. Sorry too complex of a subject to explain in so few words.
Please guys do a bit of research into the link between vaccines and autism.
Also look up Andrew Wakefield. This man is a saint in my opinion, he was struck off for doing research into the link between vaccines and autism and the big medical industry tried to destroy him because vaccines means BIG MONEY to them and thats all they care about. Not about us. Also I recommend prayer and the healing power of the Holy Spirit - there is NO no infirmity or sickness that cannot be healed by the Lord.
@spiritualwarrior1100 Well I have, and so have many actualy scientists. Millions of dollars have been wasted following up on the fraudulent work of wakefield.
Vaccines mean BIG MONEY to wakefield. He got paid more than 600.000$ for faking science in the initial courtcase. and no one could reproduce his "results". he has no medical licensce anywhere, and is basically a greedy fraudster.
also if autism can be "healed by the lord" what do you want science for?
@spiritualwarrior1100 This might be, but given the fact that there is no LORD at all besides of John Lord of cause, what do you THINK by posting things as untrue and lunatic as that? May I be struck by lightning if anything spiritual exists - oh damn! I'm still alive! Anyway, what makes the "Lord " to make us sick, weak and imbecile? He gave you great stupidity, though.
Kill the aspies! Drive them to the oceans, and drown their young! Impale them on fallen branches tipped with obsidian! Tie up their hands and feet, set fire to their faces, and let them slowly sink in quicksand! Smash their hands and feet, then lock them in a cage full of hungry, angry pigs! Create a huge beef grinder, then feed them through, slowly, feet-first! Shove thermite up their asses! Grease them up, and shove them down the throats of whales! Skin them alive then kill 'em all with fire!
Would you consider Asperger's as a new kind of medicalized identity? Has it ever occurred to you that you are not in fact abnormal but simply feel left out in a world that has become too overwhelming, not only for you but for everyone?
@BumsenDK Okay, but the reason I'm asking is because many people who say they are Asperger's seem to confuse it for this thing called alienation. So it's not some individual condition that is causing them to feel the way they do but the world in which they live. They looking through the medical model something that is essentially social.
Yep....we are indeed quite bad at English...LOL!!! I think to most Americans English IS our second language!!!! Of course the problem is we dont have a first!!!! LOL!
Actually at first I did not know you were not American...Your Accent is very passable!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
when were u diagnosed with assburger / have u had many vaccinations in your life / u seem fairly normal .. course around women, sometimes ass burgers kick in and the mouth doesnt work well...
true actually thats the WORST part of AS and i hope it will stop (not completely) but for a while cuz it sucks to have a girlfriend and not know well how to act? :( and its aspergers not ass burgers
Dinosaurs are my obsession too. Ever since I could talk I would tell people I wanted to be a paleontologist. Other kids wanted to be generic things like doctors or firemen. By comparison I probably looked pretty weird.
Whoa people below lol!. Anyway, this video was dated a year ago..which clip is it where you have made a comment about the speech being done and all that please?
I have not been diagnosed with AS. But since I was 19 I noticed a decline in pretty much all that which is symptomatic of AS and I've always been scared of finding out. But I read an article that this is a condition that can be overcome or coped with really well except that it takes time. I'm 24 this year, and just as good looking as this fella up here except that I'm a girl *wink* lol messing.
I was said to be unmethodical, yet nonetheless smart and can be creative if I want to but the other side of it is-not that I'm sure if it's on account of AS, but I have a tendency to intimidate people.
Maybe my occassional outspokenness (though never in an impolite manner), I find it hard to comment on things that isn't particularly of interest to me but am aware of anyway.
I find your red bathroom light hypnotising to the extent that I couldn't concentrate on what you were saying! It's eerie in the context of that black room...
I read an article earlier about misdiagnoses and whether or not it's all chalking it up to feeling like you belong.
I don't think I could 'belong' anywhere if I tried, but I do feel that other Aspie's understand and that's important when socializing.
With NTs, It's like feeding information to a person who doesn't understand you. But when speaking to an Aspie, they do understand even if experiences are significantly different.
You are a good looking guy, what a pity that you have to struggle with mental issues. My mental health has deteriorated too and I am suffering and it is like living in the hell.
Socially acceptable depends on where and when! If I had seen this guy in person; I would have never made that comment; but the Internet gives you freedom and you express yourself with less inhibition. Look at all the racist comments; do you think someone can call a black person a Niger in the street and get away with it; but on the Internet...
How did you know that you have asperger'S syndrome? It'S very interesting to me and well, if you would have the emotional life of an NT with the logical abilities of this "syndrome", you would probably be some form of superhuman lol XD
LoL! Im very very human ;) Dont worry! But I have an emotional life, just like I see many of my friends with aspergers syndrome have. The two do not exclude each other in my opinion.
I found out when I talked to my mother about some of the things I thought were difficult. (irony, playfighting etc) She said she had just read about a boy with aspergers. I read it and agreed that it might be so. (wast later diagnosed properly)
It's easy for people to perceive the autistic individual's identity as containing attitudes that aren't really there, as not having feelings that *are* there, or simply underestimating the individual, because the surface appears uninvolved, or simple, or slow. That goes back to the discrepency between the comprehension on the inside of a person, and how much of that context can be communicated, or how easily.
and as an adult I have learned to better cope with the unpleasantries and compensating behaviors of people through understanding. It is an ongoing process for an autistic/asperger's person learning where they stand in relationship to other people, and how to assert where that is in an acceptable way.
(cont.)If a person is chastised for behaving according to their own needs, they can fall out of touch with how to follow ones own understanding of how to meet those needs.
There is a learning curve for each person. I was oblivious to my peers most of the time in elementary school, I had a few unbalanced friendships in junior high school, in high school I learned to recognise considerate, true friends,
I liked this video and I'm curious how the speech went as well.
