  • As much as I love Delta, I kinda wish I had the chance to at least see what the red tail 787 would look like in person.

  • Stupid delta wanting their 787 in 2020 but watch deltas gonna move it

  • You made some good points there. I did a search on the topic and found most people will agree with your video.

  • I just wonder that first class is open to the normal class and it will be load from the back for the firat class people

  • wont be northwest 787 anymore

  • nwa is bankruptcy. right?

  • @TomTheTom2 no, merge

  • Thats deltas 787 now

  • All brought to you through the miracle of capitalism.

  • ANA is now the confirmed launched customer

  • whoa it is 2011 and delta/NW didn't get even ONE 787. SUCH A LIE 5:57

  • @levygonz well because ana is the launch customer and is going through test so its gonna be a while

  • now delta

  • See More on you tube type /watch?v=AyXjdxtZPS0

  • MAKE THESE PLANES FASTER!!!! NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE REST!!!

  • Thanks Delta they delayed it to 2020

  • Comment removed

  • @TheWarPlanet Are you retarded thats 9 years away and thats when they want it...the 747 is 40 years old and not dated

  • @Aviationnation10 747 is outdated, but in 9 years technology will improve alot unless the US continues to spend its money on useless stuff such as War and supporting Immigration with food stamps etc.. We will have to look up to China as one day they will be the strongest nation. Look up C919 that might be better than the 787. (They look the same anyway) 787 wont be outdated in 2020 so ill take back what i said.

  • @TheWarPlanet even though you deleted your comment...you do realise a plane takes years upon years to start a new progame...767 is over 20 years old and still extremly popular they dont just start another programe it will be at least another 20-30 years before boeing make a replacment for her c919 is crap very few orders

  • @Aviationnation10 I prefer something that goes +1 Mach than any of the shit Boeing, Airbus, and China is releasing. Thats all im going to say.

  • @TheWarPlanet oh yeah because you are a big player in aircraft buying?...fuck off

  • @Aviationnation10 Hahaha, learn some respect kid. If you cant respect other peoples opinion than dont comment. *End to this conversation* Reply but ill simply no even read it and delete from inbox.

  • @TheWarPlanet get a life and you might as well delete the rest of the comments like the first...

  • Air New Zealand will be the first airline to receive the 787 - 9's !!!

  • *cough* DELTA *cough cough*

  • The song sounds a lot like EK's safety video music lol. i wonder where they got it from lol

  • 3 years late..

  • I miss Northwest Airlines

  • Dear santa,......

  • @fretnbe No 787 is wider, Go look it up!!!

  • Why is Emirates' safety demo soundtrack in here? lol

  • @101watever101 idk but doesn't it sound like it?

  • Will a hot women have sex with ne in here? Please message me back

  • @bildtker76 I'll bet when you ask for skymall or some crap, they'll say: "no honey, we haven't got any magazines. We've had to make severe cutbacks, because we are one of the companies being sued over 9/11"!

  • Boeing is the best. The hell with the rest!

  • this song reminds me of Emirates's older safety video

  • 1:58 PFD is upside down

  • How you rank the lag room?

  • North Wortlhess Airlines, voted most rude attendents in the world.

  • Delivery- 2000 and late more than 2008

Besides, Northwest is already gone, merged into Delta, but the 787 STILL hasn't been delivered to any customer yet.

    Its sad, really sad.

  • Maybe he meant to say the year 3008 : )

  • And to think delta bought out NWA

  • god, look at how smooth she is, not a single rivet or panel line

  • they stole emirates safety video music!!!!!

  • wtf are they talking about 2008? it made its first flight in 2010. and for all of those who dont agree with me then i just have to say YES I DID in 2010.

  • Didn't the maiden flight was in december of 2009??? I heard 2008

  • Things change so quickly don't they?

    2008?

    Northwest Airlines?

  • @Daniel7681 My dad worked for NWA, And yes they do

  • @Greatshow09 Nice, was your dad a pilot for them? I loved NWA. Living near Detroit, anytime I used to fly it always seemed to be with them (their hub being Detroit). I like Delta just as well though, in fact gonna be flying with them this Sunday to Seattle. Just found this video ironic... haha :)

  • @Daniel7681 I'm flying on delta to LAX for TCA.

Anyways my dad was only a Tax analyst :( Still me and my dad get Free first class for life!

  • @Greatshow09 Awesome... wish I could fly first class for life :D

Have fun on your trip to TCA!

  • I'll still be afraid to fly no matter what and no matter how many flights I've been on

  • @redneckalex08 With well over 40,000 deaths on the highways in the US alone each year, I'm much more concerned about traveling on highways vs. the flying the skyways. For all long distance trips, flying is the only sensible way to go. The odds are SO MUCH GREATER that you will die on the highways vs. the skyways! - If the airline industry had 40,000 deaths in a year - they would ground all commercial aircraft and shut down the industry!

  • HA! A new era in air travel for Northwest will begin!? That means the new era was Northwest no longer existing! LAWL!

  • @A380sebster This vid came out in 2006/07 probably, way before a merger was serious.

  • pah...in 2008...the airline i always flew with was northwest and their books said nothing bout this...and they arnt even an airline anymore

  • you never got see one cuz now you are delta airlines jijijijij

  • you never got see one cuz now you are delta airlines jijijijij

  • it s the song of EMIRATES

  • wouldn't have this been a sight.

  • lol, "in 2008 with the arrival of our first 787 aircraft"

  • @palebit You've been watching way too much tv. Some of us are in the industry.

  • I wish boeing will hurry up with livieries for the 787

  • that stinks-they just bought some awesome 787's then they got bankrupt and had to leave. Well actually they the merged with Delta so Delta probably has some 787's now.

  • Those comparing the 787 to the A380 are just showing your ignorance. These aircraft do not compete with each other in any way whatsoever. Get a life, trolls.

  • @nojyt yeah I hate it when people compare the A380 to the 787. there is no comparison

  • @yoyoyoyoshua I agree, The A380 is a giant best for size, The 787 is smaller but more advanced technology, so you can't compare them.

  • @hypercon64

How did you figure that out, "more advanced"??? Do you know the specs, details and so on? Are you a engineer?

The A380 is one of a kind and an leap forward in aviation history! Its more quit, smooth and economical than any other aircraft in existence. Not my words, those are the scientific facts!

You yankess need to step up your game and stop hyping things!!

  • @vr6only You're comparing apples and oranges. The 787 is a Mid-size jetliner and the A380 is a SuperJumbo.

Of course, the A380 weighs in at over a million pounds, making it too heavy for all but around 25 airports in the world.

  • @Mauser712, you don't know what your talking, about when they the size, THEY MEEN THE WIDTH!!!!!! the A380 airbus doesn't come close to the width of the boeing 787. Plus, the A380 has problems with thier rolls-royce engines..."those but wipes..."!!!! ssooo you can go even search the stats of the 787 and th A380 and compare them.

    Sincearly,

    TNT7005

    -BOEING RULES!!!!

  • @tnt7005

    A380 is wider...

  • @tnt7005 the 787 uses Rolls Royces too.

  • Simply i like HUD its clever!!!!

  • this song............is xactly the one they use in emirates to show the safety features of the 773 !!!!!!

  • bullshit video, here are the straight facts: composite (plastic fibre) built aircraft are not safe, they deteriorate without any visual signs and cannot be fixed. they're a ticking disaster waiting to happen.

  • @palebit funny how Rutan VeriEZ aircraft can fly for 25 years without any problems.

  • The best airliner by far was Concorde. It was romantic, futuristic, glamorous, beautiful, exotic, advanced and evocative. The Boeing 787 is just plain dull. Efficient, intelligent & forward thinking but dull.

  • i travel to asia twice a year cant wait to fly on 787

  • More like the yawnliner. A380 is a new era in passenger aircraft. More peole want to fly the A380 than this.

Soon you will be able to buy the 787 for whatever is in your wallet. lmfao.

  • @schussman yeah especially when 787 crashes from composite corrosion

  • @schussman Airbus is like Apple, big pricy eye-candy that everybody wants. The 787 takes what Airbus is known for (carrying lots of passengers) and adds efficiency, comfort, and innovation.

  • @schussman A380 is expensive, unable to use much of the world's airports due to size & weight, is uneconomical, & soooner or later the old Airbus problem will show up with several crashes or hard landings where Airbus will claim pilot error. soon will come modifacations to software & new switchology to cure the problem airbus swears doesn't exist. plus what happens if the French government cuts funding to Airbus? economies are very tight, european governments have massive debt.

  • A380 beats the 787 we will see if the A350 can beat the 787

  • Great plane! The Americans do it again!

  • Did this order survive the DL merger?

  • when will the 787 be out ? its always delayed cant wait to see one flying

  • I want to boad dreamliner.because it seems to be very confortable.I guess All nippon airways will have one.

  • New favorite plane, looks great.

  • Higher Humidity ? NOOOO ...

We work quick ? i dont want quick work, i want quality work...

  • A turbulence avoiding system... Does the A380 has the same system?

We will never experience turbulence on a 787?

  • 2008? BAH!

  • @TheFlyingpigy lols atleast its gonna be better than the airbus a380

  • Its a disaster of a jet. they are venturing too far into unknown ground.

  • awesome...

  • cruises at fl430? nice

    and.. leeesure? pssh

  • when i seen nwa. and i heard he said i was the president of. I thought he was going to say niggers with attitude. Lol

  • wohoo sweet plane!

  • actually is 91 years

  • 800,000 hours????? 100 years

  • man hours use your head before you speak

  • @TheNelevitin *facepalm* not one person dude....800,000 hours may be 91 years but he said "logged" that must be divided by the thousands of engineers that worked on the project from around the globe simultaneously.

  • 787 has windows that you can adjust to allow how much light coming in .

    I love 787 !

  • Seems that Delta will now take delivery of it, instead of Northwest.

  • I got both Boeing 787 Dreamliner & Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental in my background.

  • Very nice

  • thanks

  • You welcome.

  • i like the a380 more but thats b/c of it enormus size

  • stop fighting on the internet, ESPECIALLY ON YOUTUBE.

Seriously it makes you look retarded

  • BIGGER THEY BET....HARDER THEY FALL!

  • He Said That NWA/Delta Is The North American Launch Customer. Not Anymore. Continental Is.

  • @ContinentalFlyer738 no, it's still DL

  • @VFA103JollyRogers 787 Will Look Good In Delta Anyway :)

  • The 787 is not even in use right now. they're behind schedule. Boeing is not sure on the body and how its made out of composite. composite is stronger then steel but it wont bend, it will just break.

  • Boeing 787 is made by polycarbonate The same material that the A380 is made out of can't u see its wing Flex it is extraordinary What your saying is the flex it did on the inaugural Flight must have already broken the wing?

  • South Carolina is Proud to be a part of this great aircraft.

  • Now that NWA is the new delta, will Delta be flying the 787?

  • Delta had already ordered the 787, prior to the merger.

  • Boeing 787-8 is priced as $11.2 Billion USD

  • Maybe the project...but definitely not per airplane. Hell, a 747 'only' costs around 200 million dollars!

  • holy crap! i thought the 757 i was on once was huge, but the thing is gigantic!

  • that's because they fly the 757-300, which is a streched version of the 757-200

  • is nwa the only airline witha 787?

how much does a 787 cost?

  • to much for you to afford one

  • probably but is nwa the only airline equipped with a 787

what do i have to do to fly in a 787

do i need 2 pay extra?

  • @MrCherryhead89

nah but until it will be used widely in the world is the year 2020

  • My nephew worked on this plane. He was saying a prolem they had was lightning strikes. With conventional the skin conducts electricity so lightning is not a big deal. They had to embed wires in the skin of the 787 so it would do the same Otherwise there would electric arcs and passengers and crew would get fried in thunderstorms

  • And how survivable would it be in a crash and a gears up landing?

Like ordinary composites, would it shatter upon impact? And burn fiercely, toxically?

You can't replicate a metallic object, which is nature's indestructable material.

  • @EinkOLED i doubt it, tehy wouldnt build a plane that goes backwards as far as saftey is concerned.

  • @menthol5 Your nephew lied to you. Carbon fiber is very conductive and disperses electricity in a similar way to aluminum structures.

  • @AllenRockwell do not be an idiot. Carbon is a fantastic insulator. It holds on tight to its valence electrons. Since they can not move, carbon can not conduct electricity. It is physically impossible for carbon fiber to be conductive.

  • Too much publicity for something poor, but that is us...

  • well someguy tells the truth. but you can deem southwest, jet blue, and virgin at the same level, because like you said, as Jet Blue and Virgin are of greater luxury, they are more expensive. Southwest is at the moment an underdog with few flights and destinations, all of which are domestic. Therefore they are at very little need for many luxuries, yet they have free check-in bagging, and free drinks and snacks. This is good enough for a simple 3 hour domestic flight.

  • lol btw...

nwa cant even get through a day without delaying a flight or losing a bag

  • for the pilots of a northwest flight...Built in beer bongs!!!!

  • It is a great design. The best for the next century. It has a fundamental concept. You know, What is pretty nice flies. Good luck and congratulations.

  • undertag/ not the worst but definatly not the best

    and im american

  • The reason for that my friend, is because they don't go for passenger satisfaction. They aim to make the most money off of you as quickly as then can. This stereotype fits most U.S. airlines, except for a select few. Southwest is a cheap airline, but they have few on board amenities. Jet Blue and Virgin are the only airlines that I think keep the passenger in mind. They have a lot of luxuries, but are very expensive. I know that airlines must make a lot of money to maintain their fleet though.

  • A year ago today I flew northwest airlines and it was very nice so those of you who go around saying northwest is crappy maybe you should fly it before you judge them just cause they went bankrupt their finaces may suck but their service is great

  • its coming now on 2010 like November around that time its going to be so awsome

  • Boy does he sound stupid since it's 2010 already and the market crashed

  • What happens when the onboard computer fails? Electricity failure?

  • the pilot uses candles to see the dashboard

  • What?

  • HAH! good one

  • The American economy is a sinking Titanic...and this airplane represents one more aspect of denial.

  • like you have a clue

  • how is this possible?!?!?! northwest is gone!

  • 2008, yea rite

  • oh great design.

But,this design was terminated by delta......

  • hard at work preparing for the arrival in 2008

yeah my ass it took its first flight last week its almost 2010 what the hell!!!

  • just a year late not bad psh

  • i am goning to fly this plane when i grow up

  • fuck you!

  • Plastic produces huge amounts of static electricity, just sitting in ur car & coming out at gas stations is dangerous! how is this aircraft going to dissapate that very potent charge?

  • @CreoleCommando the plastic is covering carbon fiber which hates electricity. it will be all balanced out.

  • Niggas

    With

    Attitude

  • The dreamliner will fail. Too much money is being pumped into this....and yet it's still undergoing problems and waiting. And who would pay 10000$ for a flight nowadays?

  • Well. I have to correct you there. As you probably understood in this wideo the plane is 50 % plastic. And when you think of the fuelefficiant engines and the light weight of the fuselage the airlines will save thousands of dollars per flight. Witch mean the ticetprice will be slightly lower.

  • isnt nwa gone aka mixed in with delta?

  • NWA is now officially Delta. As of January 1st of this year, NWA's officially gone.

  • Saves loads of fuel that makes it a great aircraft either makes ticket prices a lot cheaper or makes airline companies much richer.

  • it is regrettable that a backup automatic pilot security system using the european GALILEO wasn't implemented.... it could have been extremely usseful to take control of a plane from distance in cas of terrorist attack...

  • but what if the terrorist can hijack the system and control the plane from a laptop in a cave.

  • he doesnt sound very excited....-__-

  • All materials in the 787 Dreamliner, including composites, have been tested and used in aircraft, including other Boeing aircraft, for over 40 years. Composites can withstand repeated flexing are not prone to sudden failure as are metal alloys that fatigue and destabilize.

Materials in the 787 subject to changes in heat and pressure are similar to those in the space shuttle and do not become brittle due to temperature changes.

Many parts in the 787 are from the same Airbus supplier.

  • Northwest is a low quality airline (Jetblue is much more comfy) and this ad is also quite bad.

The 787 is made out of untested materials that are difficult to maintain and prone to sudden failure. This is compounded by the fact that these materials become very brittle in cold weather.

The only thing in it's favor is that their only major competition, Airbus, is also making the same stupid engineering decisions (though perhaps to a lesser extent).

787, the most overhyped aircraft ever.

  • untested materials? besides CARBON FIBER i don't see any other materils new to this plane :/

and those are already used since years in space engeneering, formula 1, and warplanes....i just that before they use to cost too much to be produced on a high scale...

  • What we're finding out with the use of those materials in warplanes is that they are extremely expensive to maintain.

Compared with aluminum, steel and titanium, the ability of the "newer" materials used in the planes like the 787 to withstand stress is much more greatly affected by factors such as:

    temperature variations

    humidity & moisture

    UV rays

and because it's extremely difficult to identify, diagnose and repair weakened or damaged areas, ongoing maintenance costs are very very high.

  • are you an airplane mechanic for the military?

  • Have we gotten into bleedless technology yet?

Or what is the first primarily all electric airplane?

  • 787 is bleedless iirc. All subordinate systems are run via onboard electrical, not bleed air.
