i think bireli just wanted to tickle stochelo or give him a twister or push him off his seat
i would love to see that
now what ever happened to the clip where tchavolo schmitt tried to force david reinhardt to play guitar and he just ignored him tchavolo was really drunk and was really offended,,,
Who decides to click to watch videos like this and then goes on to hit the "dislike" button? Is it the same 6-15 asshole lunatics that are on every other amazing video on youtube?
Just to give you an idea of how great a guitarist Django was, from 1:36 to 1:54 Stochelo is playing the same lines Django played on the recording. Only difference? Django could only use two fingers when soloing. Amazing! Stochelo is probably my favorite living guitarist. I love all of his music, whether it be with the Rosenberg Trio, his solo stuff, or collaborations with other artists. I love it all.
there are people who say there are no "wrong" notes in jazz... but hell, according to andreas' face after that note at 3:11 i'm quite sure he has a different opinion on that matter! :)
Wow... This is such a nice rendition of an already great song. I love the harmonization by Bireli during Stochelo's solo. I wonder if they've actually tried it during a rehearsal... In any case, you can totally tell they are enjoying playing together, and to me, that's what gypsy music is all about!
The Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, Norway (who also plays in this clip) had big problems with sickness within the group on this tour to wonderful Paris, but really liked to play with this band of incredible musicians!!! Keep it going on!!

He doubles up Stochelo playing Django's part, and adds some harmonies, cool enough !! :)
MarioMaccaferriRules 2 years ago 5
Yes, but it's was cool that he play a solo. :D
Xiphosss 2 years ago
;)
I see what you mean. but hey, he's the one launching the "Godfather theme" right after Andreas started mandolinin' and that really made my day :D
The next day he sang "Fly me to the moon", so even when he doesn't solo like an ET Bireli has atrick that'll work wonders ! Viva !
