They should have easily won 6-7 cups in the last 20 years. 93, 94, 95 in the finals, 96 were all chokes. Getting swept by Anaheim in 2003 and in the finals in 2009
Ducks were on fire in '03, it's still beyond me how they managed to sweep Detroit that year. I was kind of pissed when they lost; I had hopped on their bandwagon for that playoff run.
They won it in '07, so I was happy for Giguere, but the whole rest of the team was different by then.
I loved how the role players like Mighty Max Talbot stepped up in this game...similar to how the entire team has stepped up this season in the absence of Malkin and Crosby (and even Staal for about half the season)

Its taken me years to get the courage to watch these highlights....still breaks my heart to hear the "CLANG" of that cross bar shot from Kronner. It was a hell of series, one of the best I have ever seen. And it literally came down to a last second shot. I hope these two teams meet in the finals again one day. Go Wings.

Talbot's first "goal" should have been whistled down for icing but that would require penguin fans to understand the rules. Which they don't. Malkin should have been suspended for game three which would have wiped out his 3 assists. Refs letting p-burg skate around with 6 skaters for 45 seconds and no call. The fix was in from the beginning, but that is Bettman and the NHL.
Let's not forget their 2nd goal of this game that came from Samuelson dumping the puck into the Pen's zone, then being PUNCHED in the FACE and knocked over allowing the Pens to take complete control of the puck in their end without any pressure which lead to a pass for a 2-on-1.
If the refs actually do their job we're looking at a game 7 shutout from Ozzy.

Its taken me years to get the courage to watch these highlights....still breaks my heart to hear the "CLANG" of that cross bar shot from Kronner. It was a hell of series, one of the best I have ever seen. And it literally came down to a last second shot. I hope these two teams meet in the finals again one day. Go Wings.

The puck was over the center red line when he dumped it in, not to mention it deflected off another player on the way in anyway. No icing. The only bullshit thing in that whole series was the crap penalty called on Detroit in game 4. Other than that, the Wings had more power play opportunities. Sorry but there's never an excuse for blowing a 2-0 series lead, even if the ref literally pisses on your face.

For example this one football game a team complained about a touchdown being denied. The final score of the game was 34-10. How in the world would one touchdown have made a difference. Talbot's first "goal" should have been whistled down for icing but that would require penguin fans to understand the rules. Which they don't. Malkin should have been suspended for game three which would have wiped out his 3 assists. Refs letting p-burg skate around with 6 skaters for 45 seconds and no call. The fix was in from the beginning, but that is Bettman and the NHL.

Let's not forget their 2nd goal of this game that came from Samuelson dumping the puck into the Pen's zone, then being PUNCHED in the FACE and knocked over allowing the Pens to take complete control of the puck in their end without any pressure which lead to a pass for a 2-on-1.

Matt Cooke got away with that hit on Savard as well. More recently, Crosby slew foots a player from Atlanta, and doesn't get a penalty; Atlanta, on that same play, inadvertently trips someone from Pittsburgh as they're taking a high-stick, and Atlanta gets a penalty. There's much more proof out there too, don't be so blind.
