Martin Luther King Jr is probably of little significance to white Americans, as is the Civil Rights Movement (of which he was its biggest media whore). He was one person in a cast of many who helped end segregation in the south and enfranchise the blacks down there. No mortal is worthy of a statutory holiday in their honor. There shouldn't even be a Civil Rights Day, but if there was, it should be an unpaid one.

Anything that divides race in this country needs to be let go. No more putting one race over the other because of the past.
