Actually it sounded like they missed a few parts. Check out my band's "Sweet Home Alabama" video for a lesson on how to properly cover a classic Skynryd tune. We worked hard getting all the parts right and it shows.

Wow. Excellent job at capturing the Skynyrd-ness of the solo. It was amazingly accurate. Do all gibsons sound the same?? How come a les paul can sound like a firebird(as used in Skynyrd). Amazing.

You don't seem to know your guitars. Gary Rossington played a Gibson SG. Allen Collens a Gibson Explorer. Steve Gains played the Les Paul

Allen Collins played a firebird up until 1975 where he then switched to a 1958 Korina gibson Explorer. although he soemtimes used a Les Paul double Cutaway and a fender strat when Ed King left.

I completely agree. When I shot the footage, I was praying that exactly what did happen WOULD NOT happen, but it did. I considered editing that sequence out, but I just could not find a way to retain the flow of the song. GAB is a really solid band, and they deserve multiple cameras; had I had multiple cameras, I would have cut to an alternate angle when that woman appeared. Ahhh...resources and time, resources and time!

They hit a home run. They were leading for Vicious Rumors that day at a party for one of the band members, prior to VR leaving for their world tour, and they were all in a really good mood. I only wish I had had more than 1 camera so I could have zoomed-in on each band member as they ripped it. I got lucky with the sound (my Sony DCR-DVD505 camera), and the acoustics of the McLaren Park venue is tight. The part with the kids of the singer coming on stage was cool. The guitarist nailed it.

Seriously guys. This is probably the best cover I've heard done on this song. No one will ever sing it like Ronnie, and play it like Allen.. But dammit, ya'll stomped a hole in the new band, and gave the old one a run for they're money. Great job ;)
