Simply an awful, awful, awful movie. The CGI looks 3rd rate & the acting is terrible from actors capable of so much more. If only Peter Jackson could do a complete remake - with a better plot - after the Hobbit.

I hate it when gaming movie adaptations use the "This is no game" reference. They also did that in the awful Mario Bros. trailer movie.

Word of advice to directors: Fans watch the movie because they WANT it to be like the game! When it isn't, like D&D and Mario Bros. it sucks! Surprised? I'm not. Stop making movies suck less and start making them more like the games! You'd be shocked how much better it might do... hell of a lot better than D&D and Mario Bros. anyways!

Maybe, but it could also have been a sign of where New Line Cinema was putting in most of the time, effort, and budget. Resulting in the sub-par film we've got. Although even though it's a bad movie I find it strangely entertaining. I find it's badness to be funny (Jeremy Irons is awesomely over the top) and I have memories of it when I was a kid. I wonder if they could make a good D&D film. It'd be interesting to see another attempt with more effort put into it.

I think the look was very good.I mean I love the colors they used alot.But the main character was too wuss like,and the the storyline wasn't all that bad,but Jeremy Iron's acting really sucked,and it's usually good.But his acting was way over the top,and cheesy,in this.It's almost like the director went no you'r not cheesy enough we need more takes.I think if they would've fix those problems,and wipe the damn lipstick off of Damadar or whatever his name was.It would a been much better.

I'm proud that one of the redeeming parts of this movie were designed by my Aunt. The costumes. I'm very lucky to have signed copies of the original designs. May future generations learn that good talent is wasted on bad writing. The other redeeming quality? Richard O'Brien.
