  • I think this story does demonstrate the importance of praying for the living who are in spiritual darkness, the ill, and the deceased to help them - regardless of their religious affiliation.

  • death may possibly be what the mind envisions they're perfect afterlife to be..ever thought of that? maybe . maybe not .who knows.?!?

  • Transfer of merit.... from a story.... somehow I doubt this story's validity. It is silly how each religion has it's own near death experience, fitting their own doctrines perfectly.

  • Buddha said that people shouldn't agree with what anyone says or writes, no matter who they are, unless it agrees with our own reasoning. We should question what we read and what we're told. It's through our own experiences that we find the truth. Whether that woman really did have a near death experience or not is her own business. Happiness does not depend on the stories of others.

  • we human have the power to be who we are,... but there is a power beyond our image that we could not understand inside your minds,... even death or life in reality we still couldn't understand or control,... imagine if we humans can develop the power or discover this power of profound thoughts and transform into a mind control power... defeat our illness and disease... the human mind is one of the most powerful structure...

  • When people argue over the nature of God, I loose faith in humanity.

  • Have you ever had faith in humanity then, sparky?

  • no, but i do hope

  • BIBLE VERSE__ JOHN 14:6

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

  • What he actually ment was that those who were of the came consiousness will move to the same dimension as him when the harvest occurs. It was twisted to force people into thinking they don't have a choice but to believe or pain of fire is threatened...pretty painful thing to threaten.

  • if she had died she would have stayed in that terrible place, in that self created hell.I dont condemn anybody, people choose there own condemnation. If you reject the love of Our Father in heaven that is what happens

  • listen u want to be very careful about this, think it thru. u said theres opnl;y 1 way to heaven - theres many ways to heaven and you shouldnt condemn another because a book says so, Gd says "I am in effable. indescribeable" then how can you put Him in a book and presribe from it. Jesus is the son of God , we all are, He might be closer and more revealed, we all can be IF WE LEARN TO LOVE The worlds had enough of biblical condemnation

  • and the proper translation of father, abba is closer to source in english. if we come closer to God the source we take on His characteristics, we all can . a saint is closer. you have to give up most of this world to get closer, yes Yeshuah did this even unto his body, we can all choose STOP CONDEMNING START LEARNING TO LOVE even those you condemn

  • Please dont express your ignorance here. Ironically, Buddhism and Christianity are compatible.

  • Except for the fact that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and

Buddha did not. Josephus the historian recorded this and had

    no affiliation with Christianity.

  • No, Jesus rising from the dead is not a fact. It is merely a belief.

  • What we believe has no effect on truth. Either Jesus rose from the dead, or He didn't. One statement is truth, the other a lie.

You are free to believe what you want.

  • Actually, Buddha predicted and prophesied the coming of Christ o_o And in actuality, you can be a Christian and a Buddhist at the same time.

  • @tokyorabbiit In what sutta are you finding this...?

  • AMEN.
