The exact opposite stands true. Current President Leonel Fernandez served his first term 1996-200. Obviously he's back. Now, former President Hipolito Mejia is the leading Presidential candidate for his party.

Before Leonel, it was Joaquin Balaguer. He served twice too, in 1966 AND 1986. Obviously Family Guy writes have no idea about what they're talking about. Not sure why people are proud about DR being described wrongly.

Meh, just another fumble by Family Guy. In DR we don't actually kill people in power. Politicians get away with way too much. Only Trujillo has been killed in the last 100 years. Here the only killings are in the opposing side with Orlando Martinez, Narciso Gonzalez, Amin Abel, Caamaño, Amaury Germán Aristy, los Palmeros, etc.

It'd been better if he said "voting" instead of "killing" cause that's something we tend to do: vote the current incumbents out in hopes of a "new magical guy".

@Nosekname You need to read up on dominican history to understand the joke, they are tallking about the number of presidents that were overtrown during their periods of goverment , asually there was a time when it became a habbit, plus people would always trust in the next guy thinking that the would make a good goverment, but since the first president Pedro Santana until Leoner Fernandez (actual dominican president) they have all been corrupt thieves who have abused of the people.
