You know what I find interesting is that people are saying this ship is "wrong," when the truth is THIS SHIP ACTUALLY MAKES A LOT OF SENSE. Yes, we know the age difference is a LEGAL problem... but AGE IS NOT PERMANENT. People grow older, and in certain cases TOGETHER. If there was to be a sequel(s), it's perfectly alright to have Nick/Cassie reunite as lovers.

@shahoney preach! Especially on the growing older together part. I'm sure Cassie would have so much to learn from Nick and even vice versa. I think even the movie made a point that the two of them had some sort of connection, a bond, mentally and spiritually speaking.

Being an avid fan of the movie, Nick is still in love with Kira. I could be wrong though if there is a book series out there because if there are books I need to get ahold of them pronto!

i always knew that their bond was greater than with him and kira. Although the author try to make cassie and nick relationship as sister and brother, i can see the chemistry between them in the movie and numerous moments in the book xD

Such an under rated movie. With the X-Men movie series and Pusher in full swing by 2009, what does one expect? There are quite a few sub stories following the main plot. Is it unusual for a younger person to find enlightenment with a slightly older person, or vice versa? I think of Ashton Kutchner and Demi Moore as a good example. You can certain, in some strange way, that is a love that is going to last. Great song, great movie!

@BusyBeeOne Edgar Allen Poe did have a successful marriage with his twelve year old wife and that lasted till her death, so I guess you might have a point. I think I'll stick to my own age group though. This is my first or second favorite movie, I watch it one every couple of weeks, to pace myself so its always amazing.

@se7en0fclub5 Well, you could have also used Anna Nichole Smith as an example. According to my mother who is only in her sixties, such relationships weren't too uncommon even when she was growing up. It's only been in the last twenty five years or so that people started getting in a twist over the issue. This is a much larger topic for Youtube. Honestly, I didn't catch this sub story until I read about it and I've watched the movie at least a dozen times before reading about it. Great movie.

@BusyBeeOne There not uncommon now, just "immoral" and looked down upon because of the amount of child rape that is wrongfully associated with them. I still think she should be eighteen. Its not the age difference that gets me. its the her being twelve and him being twenty-thirty. Its a really good movie. And I just got out of a debate about socialism and politics. Nothings too big for Youtube now.

@se7en0fclub5 I appreciate your comments. Maybe I should clarify. About 40 years ago or so and before, none of this was seen as "immoral". Rape is Rape, and that will never be moral, of course. Therein lies the delimma. Today, everyone is encouraged to view ALL such relationships as immoral, and the blathering snowflake idiots even got the law to light in their favor...for now. I am not choosing sides here, just doing contrast and comparison. Still a great movie.

I loved this film, i think that it was strongly implied that Cassie had a crush on Nick. They had a great dynamic and i think since he saw her as just a kid it made it all that much more interesting to watch. Its a shame though, if she was a bit older and Kiera wasn't around, i wonder what would have happened. :3 Great video.
