Use pneumatics instead of shocks. That way you can adjust the suspension for every type of surface, bumpy or flat. Use 2 air tanks to make separate front or rear adjustment. Close the air valve to lockout the suspension. Easy as that.
@MrRobbilun RC buggy motors have better performance, than XL or M motors. However, the cars steer with M motors either using a battery box, or a dynamo steering using an XL => M connection.
I like that these trucks are fast and such...but i only have one complaint...WHY USE CABLES HANGIN OUT THE REAR WHEN YOU COULD ACTUALLY USE RC? THE WEIGHT OF THE BATTERY BOX SLOWS IT DOWN, BUT IT WOULD ACTUALLY BE A REAL RC TRUCK!!!
I'm impressed by the speed and power of these, also looks like some REALLY well built suspension, especially on that red truck. The white one is by far my favorite, or possibly the red truck. Would there be any way to make them wireless and thus extend the range of them?
would it work for me to use 4 m motors to drive my rally car which is just a chassis and where do i get buggy motors for a low price cause all the ones i see are 80-90 dollars U.S. which is alot.
proof that lego is the undisputed king of toys. The only that hasn't been reproduced in lego is a full scale fully functional nasa spaceshuttle....for now...
Can't you guys run these cars with lego's radio control sets, so that you don't need the wires?
@hisgen01 We use only original Lego motors/parts etc. No custom parts are allowed. Speed is made just by propper gearing and multiple motors, usualy 2x buggy motor or 4x PF XL motor.
work is in progress, hope i will finish them someday, now I have nearly complete model in mlcad, but with some minor mistakes, that have to be corected, I am kind of perfectionist :)
That song describes most of the girls I know better than any other song by any other artist in any other time hahahaha!! By the way, that red truck and the white proto FREAKIN' ROCK!!
nice i would like to get a hold of one of those motors. i think it would be cool if u guys can run accual hobbie motors in those things but u would have to have a custom gearbox for that o well i still would like to know were the hell u got those motors?
Here was 4wd only the white buggy, other were rwd. On the 3rd rally (no video :() was two cars 4wd. The 4th rally is aproaching, I guess there will be more 4wd vehicles.
awesome racing concept, but my only concern would be the number of broken parts. the driver of the white buggy (my personal favorite car) must have a mountain of replacement cv and u joints just to keep it running.
Hi, till now (after two races) I didn't break any cv or u joint. (white buggy) As I know others have it similar with just few broken parts. So the races aren't so destructive as it maybe looks.
like the streangth, speed, hydralics, design off the white one and the red truck.
can you post a video on how they where builded? then i can show you my version in a video! and do an other awsome video please! so will all of us have h:D faces!
Is there any limitation in weight, size or whatsoever? Is there a distinction between trucks and cars and buggies? ok i understand that the participants are not too many now, in the future maybe you can introduce these rules...
you guys should make it more about how well your truck and cars can perform, and not about keeping it ALL lego. use RC receivers and remotes, even servos. it would make steering and control a lot easier and be more fun not having to compensate for steering that doesn't go back to straight by itself. just suggesting.
btw, how long does it take to build a rally racer? i want to make one now! :P
Are they all wired controllers because the battery and stuff is too heavy? That would be a pain if the car was faster than you could run, cuz you'd have the controller rip out of your hand. :P
We use alcaline or rechargable AA batteries in original Lego Battery Boxes (all new and old types...) But some of us had put away the "safetey fusees" from BBs to get power up to its limits. There is a discussion about allowing rc battery packs, but now they are forbidden.
actualy i to wish there was someone around me where i live for trials/rallys, but i see you live in ottawa ontario, i live about 45 mins away from there in Brockville

Moc hezký závody, ale proč musí být každý záběr zrychlený nebo zpomalený? Nebyla tam příležitost nabýt představu o rychlosti aut.
RaGeBbit 2 years ago
Zrychlený není ani jeden zaběr, takže to co je rychlé, je reálná rychlost...

Fakt? Ani na začátku? Tak to bude tím roztřesením, takhle většinou vypadá zrychlený záběr pořízený nestabilní kamerou.
