For the molds, how did you get the shape so perfect? I am trying to find a set of equations for hyperbolas using cartesian coordinates. Is this how you did it?
1st of all, stop what you're doing and go get a beer. It sounds like you need one. 2nd, find a copy of how to build canoes. The owner of the Bear Mountain Boat shop is the book I got but I understand there is a woman who has a prety good one out too. They will sell you the full size templates for the boat and your life will become MUCH easier. Now, go get that beer...
That looks great. Tell me what would it take to break that hull? I can't imagine shooting any rapids and getting away without beakage...how strong is it?
Actually the canoe uses a stapleless construction method. After I got it glassed on the outside. I just lifted it off the station molds, took them off and built a cradle to place the canoe in so I could start work on the inside. I used "Canoecraft" as my bible for the project. If you want to build one, read it. I followed it page by page.
can you please explain something to me - if you did tack or staple the planks to the station molds, how did you take the whole canoe off the molds when you were done with the outside???
Well done video, and I have watched many canoe making video's. thanks.

hyperbolas and cartesian coordinates.... I'd need a 6 pack and a buddy with a degree in physics :)

I know I'm butting in on your exchange but I must let you know: the UK is never well in winter.
