The idea is there which i love the whole RTS style it is new and amazing to the Mana series and i LOVE the mana series i have the PS1 legend of mana i fell in love after that game it was a masterpiece but all the mana games after that seems to be... lacking for the best.

It's a decent game. I have only a little trouble with controls (I'm left-handed too, mind you), and I only find the missions to be a bit difficult.

Other than that, the plot is decent and I love the OST, especially the song in this vid. (Tale of the Old Nostalgic Kingdom)

Yes - this Game shouldve been awesome but the whole fighting doesnt even work correctly. They shouldve made a real Secret of Mana Game out of this and not a Strategy Ame.

@Popoi108 Not true. Not completely, at least. The gameplay's quite good, you have to manage gathering resouces and use them to summon units, ad guide them against enemies. The only thing is that when you command your units to go very distant, they might get confused so you have to guide them a bit more, and the storyline is kind of interesting, but nothing to get too into about. Though the best part of it is the beautiful soundtrack, written by the same woman that wrote kingdom heart's ones.

not illegal putting roms on it is illegal. You can use an R4 for music, movies, and homebrew stuff. On my R4 I can use AOL Instant Messenger and check my email.

It's not actually illegal to use ROMs. :)

I use a cycloDS myself, which is like the R4. But it's your right, as a consumer to create backups of your property. In this case, a game. So as long as you own the original, you can't get in trouble for ROMing it. :P

(IMO, I prefer Luminous Arc to this. But I've not finished Children yet. So I have little experience with Heroes.)

well... its like Final fantasy 7, they know everyone wants a remake with better graphics and possible extra content, but it will never happen, they will first rape the franchise, then they will give you hopes of a remake of the game. Secrets of mana, chrono trigger and final fantasy 7... these great titles will roughly ever get a remake...

Actually, it's got strong ties to Seiken Densetsu 3. Hawkeye (or Hawk, if you will) is introduced in this game as a baby. There's also strong allusions to possible parents of the SD3 cast.

not as good honestly. The FFXIIRW system seems more fleshed out (but also a little more dumbed down). Half the time I would be really frustrated watching my troops do stupid stuff you couldn't really control. +the gameplay is really really slow. It isn't by any means horrible... it is just not that great.

If you get frustrated easily I would say no, this game takes a lot of patience. If you have a lot of patience I would say yes.

well, you can't exactly level up your characters, though you can give them items to hold, which will level up a certain stat for the time that they are holding it (if this doesn't make any sense, send me a message, n ile try to explain it in more detail) ;p

The only thing I hate about the Mana series is its fanbase. It's a bunch of overly loyal idiots who cling to SoM like it's the holy grail of gaming. SoM was one of the most breakthrough RPG's ever, no doubt, but the other Mana games all add something new to the mix. IGN gave this game an 8/10. It also gave CoM an 8/10. This is because IGN knows not to cling to the past. Do you?

I have heard a lot of mixed stuff about this game and Children of Mana. I think they have cornered a few of the games into some niche markets like for HoM/RTS or with CoM/Dungeon Crawler. I feel like that nostalgia of a Mana game has been gone for sometime... that is not to say that I don't like some of the newer different genre mana games, but I understand how people whether they be loyal idiots or just casual Mana series fans would not prefer the newer departures.

I just bought this game today and I'm addicted! It really is a hard game, and you have to use your head. Even though so far I've only gotten on game over so far, I've had countless close calls. The one thing I also like is downloading the bonus maps. Even after you beat the game you can continue playing. The longest fight I've had is 47mins and 59sec, and it came down to just Roget and a first tier Heavy class troop vs 8 first calls troops and taking out a airship.
