  • I love Deep Purple, but this gig is just a piece of shit. Except of Paice, everyone should play better. This improvisation is out of control. Lord and Blackmore played better in Royal Albert Hall.

Lord and Blackmore weren´t able to play even final melody.

  • At 4:38 Ian Gillan worships and gives praise to the mighty amplifier God.

  • I have to say that the performance was awesome but there's only one thing... Why didn't Blackmore play his signature Mandrake Root Arpeggio at the beginning and the end then of his solos?:S It's usually what gets me everytime!:/

  • @thevinnymaster

    Because this verson is cut!

  • Blackmore ain't no Hendrix.

  • I can't believe Ritchie kicks the drum kit over while Ian is still playing :)

  • ¡¡ Que calidad carajooo !!

  • HOLY SH*T!!!

  • Cheer up Roger at the end there, did you feel that they ran away from you..? Ace performance.

  • Ritchie Blackmore makes Jimi Hendrix look anemic!! HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!

  • the God of Guitar, Ladie's and Gentleman.....Ritchie BLACKMORE!!!!!!!!

  • Grande Ritchie Blackmore! ! ! Que gran banda.Gracias por subir tu video.saludos desde el Peru.

  • best "noise" I ever heard -- why don't bands trash thier stuff anymore-those days were fun....

  • agreed.

  • Having seen Purple many times, by this point in the show Blackmore would have played about 100,000 notes in various songs and the whole point of Mandrake Root was to make as much controlled out-of-control noise as possible! It was not about trying to re-play a song off of the album. This was the last song in the set, which is why they destroyed the drums and amps at the end. CLASSIC!

  • I insist mostly this sonng is NOISE.

  • @zzzzzzzz594 Rap and technopop are noise. This is 5 very talented musicians at there best, pushing there instruments beyond there limit.

  • 3:38 oh my god

  • what´s that noise? Cause most of the song is nothing but noise.

  • @zzzzzzzz594 that noise is the stupidity reverberating around your empty skull. If this moron gives me back shit, bombard his in box with nice, kind words. Purple Nation.

  • RITCHIE BLACKMORE is the PAGANINI of the Twentieth Century......

  • People looked cooler before.... Everything becomes so pretty and comfortable today. Noone dares to take any risks anymore. To be a little "ugly".

By the way. How come girls not dancin` like this anymore?

  • @fremmed1 Because people don't take acid anymore. Those girls are tripping balls right now. But, I agree with you 100%. I'm sick of the safe and predictable world we live in too.

  • wot a great performance from everybody the band!!!!! just love the way blackers plays that guitar!!!! pure magic!!!!!!!

  • this is how you preform my friends.

  • This pretty much sounds like a combination of Jimi Hendrix and The Nice, with some Who-style destruction thrown in at the end. A good combination of influences. Blackmore and Lord are true showmen...neither quite approaches Hendrix or Emerson but they do their best and come close, and certainly increase the flash factor to exciting levels.

  • This is a Purple FIRE!!!!

  • Playing Heavy Metal in 1970 GODS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sonic Youth would be proud.

thank you blacky, paice, lord, gillian, glover!

  • 2:00 this is metal!!!

  • hihi ritchis moves are great... i think he was some kind of sex symbol back then, I read some stories about some of the concerts where Girls actually stripped for him

  • Amazing...! wow, the best guitar player of rock...

  • Fuckin' Rock n' Roll man

  • Wow.......what a find!! Never seen this footage before! Not to take anything away from Richie but, you think maybe he'd been studying Mr. Hendrix a bit??

  • @jeffthrow6892 Yep!

  • thats art!! rock-art!

  • I was at the Gig ..the bit that has been cut is where the two girls stripped off and danced naked near the end.!!!!

  • OMG,this, is awesome.

  • Wow, the quality is awesome. Looks like it was filmed yesterday !!!
