The population of polar bears has increased over the last 2 decades. Bears have survived across 2 ice ages. Alas, the arctic is cooling back down this year and sea ice is returning - rapidly. It is widely agreed that Antarctica is in a long term cooling trend. I haven't heard the earth first folks talk about that fact. Drill now.
Pukers!-great clip of Caribou frolicking by the oil rig! The North Slope is alive and well AND thriving, despite propaganda from so-called environmentalists-most of whom have never even seen ANWR, let-alone Alaska. The part about roads, power plants and pipelines criss-crossing the wilderness is total Ke-RAP!just look at you own video! It looked pretty nice to me AFTER 40 YEARS OF DRILLING! I spent a entire winter there and never saw one single soul!(Puk"er\, n. 1.Alaskan slang for tourist)
This is very misleading, the proposed area is known as dead horse -- nothing lives there. It is very close to existing pipe line and can easily be connected with out disturbing the local wildlife. Caribou populations have increased 5 times since our pipeline was put in. Not only fuel but our national security is at stake. See "The Truth About ANWR".
2,000 acres. All we will do is put a few oil towers in 2,000 acres out of 17 million. We will then be able to reach 8 million acres underground. Results: oil prices down, and even if that doesn't work, until we go to more cleaner forms of energy like T. Boone Pickens wants, why should we give hundreds of billions of dollars away to foriegn nations every year???? Espically the ones whos citizens want us dead. Wake up America, post this comment on every ANWR video to make the truth be told.
Guess what, we are animals too, and we have every fucking right to take advantage of the resources. These liberals lie! Oil digging is so uninvasive animals would barely notice.
the site is such a small amount of the natural beauty of alaska. the impact is not what the tree huggers say. heck lets let the chineese and the saudis just own this counry and the tree huggers wont have any say on what happens here. thats the way its going with a trade deficit that has plummited the value of the dollar.
I am tired of people assuming that i'm a democrat because I don't beleive we should drill in ANWR. This is my only moderate view. I am a small government, no tax Republican.
This is one of our last pristine places on the entire planet. We must fight to keep it that way. The native Gwich'in Indians reside here and have for thousands of years and they depend on the caribou herds which make their calving grounds along the Porcipine river. Drill here and this and more would be lost. Haven't we raped the earth enough in the last few hundred years?
I don't know which natives you are talking about because the Gwich'in Indians, who are the native Indians of ANWR are 100% opposed to drilling. They are doing everything they can to keep drilling away from ANWR. Just google Gwich'in Indians and read and you will find this out.

Alaska's governor just demanded Congress allow Alaska to drill more. I think Alaskans know more about this than anyone in the lower 48.

The natives want the drilling. your talking about a place the size of South Carolina, and the drill spot is only about the size of JFK airport.
We must get off Foreign Oil and this the way. It will hurt the habitat.
