There was this "Trip to Trumpton" and of course the one that started it all Charly by The Prodigy there were probably others too but those stick out in my mind the most probably becasue they were the best.
1992 was the year of a lot of this Rave type music go into the UK charts
Of course this is hardcore, if you listen, the main sample of sesame street is cut out and replaced with the normal synths we all know and hear a lot in old skool hardcore. the sample just makes it more commercially viable because of how many people know the theme song. you gotta get noticed somehow so this was a perfect way for them...fair play and good fucking memories
I dont if you good folk remember, but this is just another example of some producers trying to make some money out of commercialising Hardcore. And the smartees cant be responsible for Jungle drum n bass.. its just a bit of fun, look for trip to trumpton for another example
@alewis1979 Exactly, you've got to have a laugh. @techguruuk As far as I'm concerned cocaine, alcohol and the attitude that comes with them killed rave.
I know drum n bass evolved from the rave scene and this would have been just on the cusp but I find i ta bit odd to label this track as 'hardcore'.... but I'm young I suppose
I'm an American living in Arizona so its amazing that I even know this song but I actually found the cd album from '92! I really like the album. I can't say I really care for this particular track, but there is a brief moment of intensity at 2:06. Too bad that dark moment couldn't have been spread all throughout the track.
LOL, havent see this in years -no wonder they went on about dan donnerly selling out, although he ran away from this stuff after and pushed sub base in a darker more jungle tekno direction, pushing the underground dnb scene like so many others, still loads better than latter commercial stuff which raped the rave scene though - sash & scooter etc...
This was and still is a legendary tune, OMG the memories it has brought back!! This needs to be re-released now, even if it's just to let me grow my curtains back..lol
Love this!!!! just lisend to RAVE 92 takes me back better than the crap thats out
