A good documentary filmmaker does not use sarcasm and eye-rolling as effective means to tell a story. Asking the Polish lady in Krakow for money back after she said that she wasn't Jewish and finishing a movie with an implication that the viewer wants to know if Jamie is Jewish,is hypocritical to put it mildly. It is unfortunate that such a delicate subject matter was not handled with more finesse and skill.

Saw this on Sundance the other night. It's a terrible film. By the end of the film the narrator/star pretty much becomes the sterotypical whiney Jew. What gives you the idea that Jews in Arab countries have full rights? Most Jews have fled Arab countries because of the persecution, and those that remain live very difficult lives. The only difference is that the Jews leave, move elsewhere, start over and are successful.

actually thats not true, most jews did not flee arab countries, and there was no persecution such as the european jews faced. Many mizrahim were reluctant to leave their homes and go to Israel, and they were heavily discriminated against by the ashkenazim when they got here, the sephardim have lower achievement rates in school than Israeli arabs, and consistently make up the poorest sector of society. There is plenty of data on this subject, not to mention just using your own eyes!

To say i enjoyed this documentary (seen in full on bbc4) doesn't seem fitting.
But it certainly got me, and i would think, many others thinking is certain.
I can't deny for some reason i was still left asking, is he jewish? and yeah your right, why does it matter to me. It affected me so much so that i came on the internet to see what i could find out about the film, and about jamie.

and because of this VILE set of books, 6 million jews were destroyed, which is a shame. All they had to do was believe in Rabbi Yeshua - the messiah and all this would not have happened. Israel today would be a Christian state with hebrew christianity as the sole faith.
