to everyone trying to say its the same story as CARS, this is based of of The book, "Golf's Sacred Journey: Seven Days at the Links of Utopia" which was written and published before cars came out in theaters, so yeah quit trying to say it has the exact same plot.
This movie is like cars. The guy crashes someone takes him to a town. He never heard of Utopia (Route 66) And the guy meets this girl (McQueen and Sally)

I think I understand how this will go. He crashes in Utopia. He stays 7 days. He ends up with the girl, and his golf skills come back in full force and he makes up with his dad. The end.
Deborah Ann Woll was the only reason I watched that movie and when it was over I walked into Rise of the Apes. I got to say; $5 and like 3 or 4 hours were well spent on these two movies.
Saw a preview screening. It was a nice movie. Not religious myself but the film wasn't very preachy or overbearing. It's a by-the-numbers film, but that isn't a fault. It works well to it's advantage. If you don't have an ounce of sensitivity you won't find anything to like.
That said, there's really nothing wrong with this movie. It's great for the budget it was made on, and doesn't really get boring. Was personally surprised how much I liked it.

I've been to Utopia, TX and the surrounding area. That looks like it was filmed there. Even that river scene looks like the Sabinal or Frio rivers that run through the area. Beautiful tall cypress trees along the banks.

Saw a preview screening. It was a nice movie. Not religious myself but the film wasn't very preachy or overbearing. It's a by-the-numbers film, but that isn't a fault. It works well to it's advantage. If you don't have an ounce of sensitivity you won't find anything to like.
That said, there's really nothing wrong with this movie. It's great for the budget it was made on, and doesn't really get boring. Was personally surprised how much I liked it.

It's rare ... but maybe ... and I think it'll be a decent movie because it has Duvall in it and he is the best! His work with this actor in GET LOW was a masterpiece!

Well, for what appears to be a good movie, w/a positive moral content, I'm glad that Callaway helped underwrite the movie.

I've been to Utopia, TX and the surrounding area. That looks like it was filmed there. Even that river scene looks like the Sabinal or Frio rivers that run through the area. Beautiful tall cypress trees along the banks.
