  • this band is the epitome of perfection

  • I don't need a new love, or a new life

Just a better place to die

  • Sacrilegious crap at 1:06.

  • im seeing them TONIGHTT

  • I dont give a fuckkk what brought you here, even if its that lame show glee, you now know AMAZING MUSIC, relish it in and spread the word

  • holy crap. audio levels too high much?

  • wwwgreatbuyoutletscom wwwtopfuelsavercom Wasn't that queer-like talk about wanting to be a dog? Do you know, mother -- I believe he meant something quite different by that. Why, what should he mean? Oh, I don't know; but it seemed to me he meant something different from what he said -- all the time. Do you think so? Yes, it was sort of queer. How, keep your eyes open -- ? Well, I don't know what to say about it. Oh, mother, you'll see; it'll be such fun! You're very strange. You were so bent

  • What's the big deal if folks here only started following these guys because of Glee or the commercials? These dudes are awesome, and you can't fault anyone for how they became fans. I mean, how does that it make it legit for those who are fans of Queen, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd etc., when they were before your time? As long as good music is appreciated. It's better than dumb kids these days who follow others into disaster, listening to Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Ke$ha...

  • WHen i first heard his voice i thought "M&M"

  • @Rider241Mx Except good, right? haha :P

  • Was just front & center at the Penn State concert. This (and all other) recording suddenly sounds disappointing after how much bass they give live.

  • Hearing this song live is indescribable.

  • @WillowSingsLikeAMan

    OH! I bet!

  • Not as good as Some Nights

  • I like the song but it sounds like they took a sample from Matt & Kim's song Ice Melts and its annoying.

  • the beginning reminds me of eminem

  • The best part of any YouTube video is viewing the comments. Troll on.

  • One of my favorite songs on your new album!! Thank you for continuously making amazing music. I can't wait to see you guys at Sasquatch.

  • I wanna have kinky sex with this song,

    yeah, it's that good.

  • Easily the shittiest fun. song,

  • Saw them last November, and going to see them this April. Soooo excited. Such a "fun" show.

  • @xBelloGiorno BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • i saw them in Charlotte last May when they were doing Aim and Ignite.

    Nate can fucking sing.

  • brilliant, absolutely brilliant

  • I saw them open for P!ATD a year ago and have loved them since!

  • I love fun.

  • this band really sounds different... like their style :)

  • I like this. It starts conventional and then starts going hard.

  • eeeeeeeeeep this song is great

  • I got goosebumps

  • I don't understand it. I don't understand how they've topped Aim and Ignite. I'M SO SCARED AND CONFUSED AND AROUSED.

  • How can this upbeat music have such belligerent fans? C'mon, guys. Who gives a shit how long you have been following Nate. Don't harsh the mellow. Just enjoy the song.

  • Oops sorry. Ok, what does it matter if people like music because of a popular song? I know I love this band and I'm sorry that I'm here because of We Are Young. Im kinda new to the alternative/hipster/indie scene. I think that everyone should just get on with their lives and stop criticizing everyone else.

  • I love this song sooo much. Also, not trying to start another argument but what does it matter if peope

  • Awesome sauce

  • This is going to be the album we compare all of their future albums to and say "No way man this album will never compare to some nights!"

  • @TheGingerHipster Nope, that would be The Format's "Interventions and Lullabies" or "Dog Problems". Fun is crap compared to them.

  • @Jmswlks I get what you're trying to say dude. It's rude and heinous, but I get it. The Format was amazing, I've listened to them since dog problems. You just don't seem to get that we have moved on mostly. We're talking about the future of fun. Not the formats past.

  • @TheGingerHipster Nate Ruess IS The Format. No matter what he does in Fun, he'll always be The Format.

  • This beat is awesome.

  • Free show at PENN STATE February 27th!!! 8PM Alumni Hall

  • come to australia!!1

  • And when I think they possibly couldn't top Aim And Ignite they go and make this. I am blown away.

  • @CraykenOriba Completely agree! :D

  • 54 people with crappy taste and a new album with just as good music <3 Fun is definately where good music is born

  • What's awesome is they sounded just as good, if not better, when I saw them live. LOVEEE!

  • Comment removed

  • So effing good.

  • holy fuck... MIND BLOWWINGGGLYYY BEAUTIFUL :O AMAZING <3

  • I love Fun. and I love this song. But the second verse is just wrong.

  • Loving the bowties.

  • This is why I love Fun 2:05

  • it would be AMAZING if they performed at the Grammys.

  • ripoff of sleigh bells

  • @lazilyperfect, I tried to get some cause they're coming to Cali at the end of march but they were sold already.

  • Wow! I love Nate! For a split second, the first word he sang, I thought Eminem was featuring.

  • at first i was like shit, its over.. some nights is gonna be just one more sell out. but it grew on me. like, who are we to tell them what kind of music to make? and wouldn't it be great if one band out of all the shitty ones started to use more production effects because they WANTED TO instead of just to make money?

  • I can't wait for this new album! Been waiting for sooo long to hear more of them! The best part is that it comes out on my birthday <3

  • I can't wait for this album. I'm so stoked!

  • The new P!ATD!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @babyspanker213 The New Fun.

  • I like the transitions. Sickkk.

  • Yeah, this is in no way about them blaming God for not being successful.

  • cant find the instrumentalll:(

  • The bass in this song is crazy in concert. Literally shook the place!

  • @Repping610 gah now i'm just dying to see them. i love songs like this just because it really shows that they take live performances into account. i can't wait!

  • I'm not completley sold on this song. I feel like they shouldn't of messed with nates voice. Other than that it sounds pretty good.

  • @twiligt1129 you should see them live sometime. It's so freaking hype.

  • I was really loving their other songs from the upcoming album, but I don't know if my perfectly decent laptop speakers aren't capable of handling the beat they have for this song or what, but this kind of sounds really awful and like it was recorded in some random guy's basement. =\ Also, Nate has an amazing voice, so they should never screw with it again like they did in this song. Any changes you could make would only be for the worse.

  • @ron10dk Check it out on iTunes if you have it. For some reason, the bass is overdone on this video. In the song previews this song sounds more natural and fine.

  • @ron10dk It's definitely your speakers.

  • Love them....I have been to several Fun. shows...all amazing. Discovered them when I went to see another band...they were the opening act but stole the show! Amazing.

  • Oh my god this song is fucking great I'm going to die.

  • hated it at first...ADDICTED NOW SIGH

  • i don't completely agree with all of the lyrics but this is an awesome song!

  • 20 days left. Really can't wait :)

  • 50 people don't know how to have fun.

  • Just saw them in concert & now I'm 10x more excited to see them again in April than I originally was.

Fun. is absolutely freaking amazing ♥

  • Anyone else been listening to this continually for the past hour? :) <3

  • @beauregardb

You just described their first album. Shoot them for not being redundant, but I think it's good for them to experiment. And, it's working.

  • "may his soul live on forever in my song" who the fuck is talking about the lyrics? they're still Nate's lyrics. Fueled By Ramen isn't that huge of a label that they make their artists get writers instead of having their own songs. Nate is an amazing writer. I'm certain they recognize that.

  • And off come my pants...

  • time to go back and find scimitar255's comment...

  • This is an overwhelming song. I love it with a fiery burning passion.

  • @Bigcitydreams1018 never shout never lol nice

  • Fun opened the concert I saw today with this song. Fucking amazing.

  • @imcool24601 What did you like better: Live or the recording? I saw them last summer with P!atD and I like them way more live but they are still great recorded. This song I'm not a fan of recorded because his voice sounds to messed with, I think it would be super amazing live!

  • The intro is all like "BAH, BAH, Awesome, Awesome, BAH, BAH, Awesome, Awesome..."

  • My friends make fun of me because I buy music on itunes and I don't download illegally, but I mean come on?! For bands like fun. I will give them hundreds of dollars to keep making music!

  • They are absolutely amazing live.

  • yess i heard this live and been wanting it ever since

  • What happened to this:

"...encapsulating far too many instruments to name and numerous complementary and contrasting melodies"

"showy songwriting, rich arrangements, the incredible vocal range"

"dynamic compositions with plentiful tempo and tone changes, snappy vocals and absolutely gorgeous string and horn arrangements.... displaying a degree of theatricality"

"The buoyant tunes only serve to amplify the intensity and depth of Ruess’ expansive, introspective lyrics"

  • @BeauregardB @FueledByRamen. That's what happened.

Look at Fun. (and The Format) on Nettwerk, and now look at fun. in comparison to every other band on this shitty label and note that fun. are now trying to be just like them. The songwriting can't afford to be spectacular, because they're trying to appeal to a pop crowd now.

  • i love aim and ignite and always listen to it and i hope some nights can top it

  • Comment removed

  • It grew on me. I hated it the first time I heard it. It angered me for like a week but now I like it.

  • real instruments > computer-generated sounds

  • @BeauregardB There are exceptions, but you're allowed youre opinion:) Please just give this song a chance, and I promise it'll grow on you.

  • The first time I listened to this song, I wasn't really too sure about it. Decided to give it a second listen a month later, I LOVE IT.

  • Nate deserves to turn this horrible generation of music around. So let him get big. If you're a true fan, you'd be proud- not an annoying "I knew them before Fun." fan. All that matters to me is that he still gives me goosebumps whether I turn on his old music or new.

  • @ciaobellanatalia i hate when people pass judgement on a generation of music, like, then make some better music and stfu

  • @ciaobellanatalia even if those fans didn't exist glee already starting ruining things!

  • @ciaobellanatalia I never thought of it that way. I have to admit, I've been kinda pissed about the success of "We Are Young", being played on Glee and in car commercials and whatnot. I've been a fan of Nate's since The Format's first album came out in 2003. In fact, I would consider The Format to be my favorite indie band of all time. It's pretty surreal to be hearing Nate's voice in the mainstream so much lately, but maybe you're right, maybe he can give hope to an otherwise crappy music scene

  • @Jmswlks "I've been a fan of Nate's since The Format's first album came out in 2003." Check out this cool guy, discovering indie artists years before the common plebeian. Mmm, work that ego. Yes, yes, you do that. Sexy.

  • @xanerosro95 Fuck you. You're probably a bandwagon jumper who just discovered Fun because of "We Are Young". Poser.

  • @Jmswlks No, I wouldn't have had the cheek to make such a comment if that were the case. I knew of Fun. because I'd been following The Format for some time, like you. I just don't think it reflects well on fans of indie music to tout things like "I listened to so-and-so before they became famous" or "You're probably just a bandwagon jumper (and I'm better than you because I'm not)." I get that you're afraid of being judged, but relax a little.

  • @xanerosro95 Fun will never compare to The Format. Ever.

  • @ciaobellanatalia To follow up on my comment, i think a lot of Nate's fans (myself included) are worried that being popular and mainstream will cause him to abandon his unique style in favor of appealing to Top 40 Radio listeners. He has one of the most original voices in all of music, and I think he's one of the best songwriters of the last decade. Some of us would have preferred that he remained under the radar instead of blowing up huge with the Glee/Facebook/MTV crowd.

  • @Jmswlks You took a lot of the same words out of my mouth haha. I was pissed at first too because I loved that my favorite band was humble. Whether Nate became a "Top Hit" or not, I think he was still a little more popular than I always thought. Plenty of people know The Format but it takes certain listeners to like his sound. Fun. appeals to a much bigger crowd but I do fear his sound could change with his popularity. It happens with artists but he is so passionate so I have confidence in him.

  • @ciaobellanatalia He could save popular music, or it could swallow him whole. You're pretty cool though. Write me. :)

  • @ciaobellanatalia Why would you want to know them before Fun? This band is lightyears better than The Format. There's a reason Fun will be big and The Format never was.

  • @CampLo I disagree but I don't disrespect anyone's opinion. I obviously love Fun. but I connected with The Format in a different way than you probably got out of it but that's okay. Nate wouldn't be where he is today without The Format. He didn't just pop up out of a recording studio and make it big. It took a lot of passion and originality for him to build his career, but again that's just my perspective.

  • @CampLo Because Fun makes pop songs with singalong choruses that all the mindless "Glee" sheep can sing along with?

  • @Jmswlks So a song redone by Glee is automatically shit? Talk about a double standard. Anyway, no, because the way they compile and arrange these songs blows anything he did as The Format out of the water. Like natalia said, though: that's just my opinion.

  • @CampLo Listen to The Format again. They're amazing.

  • @Jmswlks Oh right, you're right I'm wrong sorry brah. Gonna go watch some more Glee l8r LOLZ

  • @CampLo LOL!

  • @CampLo I'm not gonna argue on youtube, but the format is better IN MY OPINION. But I'm happy they got big through hard work and shit. Regardless of being a a TV show. Their sound is definitely different from the last cd for sure.

  • Although I will agree with some people saying this sounds overproduced. Yeah, the live one sounds way better. But this is still great, guys. Enjoy this wonderful badass music.

  • This is so addicting. I love fun.'s music so much. Every single song.

  • WHY ARE ONE DIRECTION IN THE SUGGESTIONS?

  • Didn't like the song at first, but as with fun. songs, the more you listen to them, the better they get. Now I love this song.

  • how can people think this song is bad? LISTEN TO THOSE LYRICS PEOPLE!

  • I LOVEEEEEEEEE THIS SONGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am so happy that I found this, I've been wondering about the "new sound" rumors... I am still undecided... I <3 Fun.

  • @swimmerfreak203 To me, it doesn't feel messed up at all. One of the main parts of music is contrast, so when you expect a certain beat and something completely different happens, that's music.

  • This is going to be a great album

  • @Prinsaice All of fun./ Nate's work has been awesome.. Love the format and fun...

  • this song is just simply amazing

    i cannot cannot wait

    for the album...

    dear god

  • I didn't love this song until that moment when the beat dropped out and it was just Nate's voice.

Now I love ALL of the song.

    Also, SOPA's bad, mmkay?

  • Those criticizing critics, you aren't any better. Just shut up and listen to the damn song. -____-

  • change quality to 480p for best effect.

  • @vtxrider2007 720p... even better.

  • @okcwarrior31 OMGOMGOMG

  • @swimmerfreak203 Well of course, that's the thought of it, though when it's a that heavy bass, it sounds like they're just drumming randomly. I don't doubt they're great musicans, but the bass ain't for my liking.

  • Im going to their concert in Boston! I CANNOT WAIT!

  • Well.. I like Fun. damn much, but the beat is totally messed up in this song, even though the tune is great :i

  • @DickDick1nson I COULDNT AGREE MORE.... THEY HAVE SO MUCH TALENT... THEY OVER PRODUCE THEIR ALBUMS WAY TO MUCH!!!!! THEY SOUND WAY BTR BARE BONE ACCOUSTIC....aka live

  • cant wait for the concert on march 9th <3

  • why so messed up sound?

  • This was better live. But i guess everything would be, huh? x3

  • LOOOOOOOVVVEE them. I have seen them live 5 times live...gets better every time!

  • i am obsessed with FUN. You guys sound fucking incredible!

  • haven't been able to get this out of my head! Awesome, but u knew this already. thanx4sharing! dig the ramen ref;)

  • I like how fun. are starting to get the recognition they deserve; but hate how all these hipster cunts are getting on it ;(

  • I've been with Fun. from the beginning and Im happy to see that they are finaly getting well known. congrats guys!

  • People...stop being over critical. This song is great. Stfu.

  • OMG .. This Group Is Super DOPE !!!!!

    Download here: theindierockplaylistdotcom

  • @criznittles Why would you do that? Illegally letting people download like that.

    Not cool.

  • @inapplicability they gave it away for free for a while, so he's not actually doing anything wrong

  • @inapplicability Butthurt alert.

  • @CinematicallyUnhappy

hahaha ooops wrong video. lolol. i meant to post that under 'We are Young'

  • I swore i had clothes on when the song started

  • @TheBenjaminmueller I declare this the best comment on youtube I've ever read :D.

  • @TheBenjaminmueller Although I think you meant "swear" :).

  • @pitchforks yes I swear i had clothes on when the song started
