  • Manson landed couple back of the head blows but looked missing his right-hand haymaker and Twist just slipped to the ice. No damage done, not much landed. DRAW.

  • The Twisters had a serious mullet in teh early days!!!

  • chase and twist we're awesome...

  • @iamnewfie1 WOW, you fool, you never saw him beat Scott Stevens ass, and no great hockey enforcer squares off, they all grab jerseys, ZBob Probert for one...Manson was one of the strongest guys in the NHL......

  • Chase with the takedown.

NO WINNEr in this nice tilt.

Both seemed to land same amount, Van Dorp landed 2 good rights(middle).

  • i love twist cause i used was going to blues games since they were in the barn with old basil mcrae before twist was even on the team but twist was a whole different animal when he started steroids he was like popeye when he was roided

  • My uncle last told me that Van Dorp is a far family member of me! We live in Holland, and the American part of the family lives near Rochester, the place where Van Dorp played for. Amazing story.

My last name is Van Dorp too!

  • Dan ben je ook familie van Gerard Joling.

  • Manson vs Pre Steroid Twist = ass whipping "Charley" style .

  • @rottweiler9s Manson is nothing but a punk cheap shot artist who pulled jerseys over faces, tried to get his gloves off and punch before opponent had gloves off or was set. You'll never see him truly square off with anybody. Nothing but a punk.

  • @rottweiler9s Pre Steroid.... Ass whipping Frist off did u watch the same Fight i did ? Manson Could barely get Twister to the ice... Steroids? I guess you know ....How Its no wonder the world is so messewd up. People like your self talking bull and have no facts . Just He said She(you)said bullsh*t.

  • @bigvten Cut the crap, everyone knows Twist used steroids.

  • @MikeMths35 Cut the crap!! The crap is people like yourself that start crap, and don't have a leg to stand on. So you can prove your statement? I'm from Missouri "Show Me"...

  • wayne van dorp played in the netherlands at groningen for 2 years

then he went to the nhl

    he's awesome

he's coming back for the reun of GIJS at Groningen for excisting 40 years!

I'm going to ask his signature man, he's wicked

  • dont mess with,,,manson

  • Damn twister has a sick MULLET! good ol canada!

  • did twist win any pre steroid fights? i cant remember any that he did

  • lol... no he did not

  • Before 1993 he was (34 W) (9 L) not bad before the juice let him go 53 - 3 the next 5 years.....

  • LETS GO BLUES

  • This was back before the Red Wings became the Yankees, when St. Louis and Chicago were relevant. Seems like a distant memory.

  • Not a distant memory for long my friend. Chicago has made it back and the Blues are well on thier way.

  • go hawks fck st louis

  • atta boy manson!

  • Twist was so weak back then!

  • this was twist pre-steroids

  • i go to school with dave mansons daughter.. shes a babe

  • Don't touch her. He will kill you.

  • LOL!

  • Van Dorp is in the top 5 all time NHL punching bags. Along with Cam Russell, Gerald Diduck, and #1 all time Steve Leach. There are a couple others who's names escape me at the moment. Oh, yeah!...Jeff Odgers. How could I forget him. Twist was a tough fighter even before steroids but a monster after he roided up. He had to bulk up to compensate for his lack of height, he was in reality only 5'9". Kelly Chase 5'7".

  • Steve Leach wasn't a punching bag! In fact, he never lost a fight when he played for Boston. He just "lost his balance." Well, that's according to Derek Sanderson anyway.

  • Tony Twist is 6'-1", Kelly Chase 6'-0"

  • I was there. Van Dorp was a bad fighter (for his size) and a terrible hockey player. in that era the hawks top 4 fighters were manson, peluso and mcgill, thomas. notice van dorp is not in the list... and was in the league for less than 2 seasons. good fighters, top 2 fighters stick around longer than that.

  • I got this game on tape. This was one the crazist games I've ever seen. In a seesaw scoring battle, the Blackhawks beat the Blues 9-6.

  • Twist was nothing but a punch bag before the steroids.

  • chase for his size was a badass. i watched kocur land 3 solid punches on van dorps face and he didn't move him. probert is the only player i have seen drop wayne

  • Van Dorp isn't in anyones top 2 list.

  • Van Dorp and Manson were a great 1-2 combo for the 'Hawks, probably second only to Probert-Kocur.

  • Heh, Dave Manson is my cousin, I see him once a year at the family reunion :P

  • My dad was friends with him during those days. Does he still talk with a gravely voice?

  • What year did Twist start taking roids?

It appears he got handled pretty easily here by Dave Manson who was tough as hell but no monster size-wise.

  • Yeah but he won in best hockey hair battle

  • Yea man it was within the next few seasons. I agree, twist was nothing without steroids, simple as that. People are like OMG Twist is soo good, its like hey man give any other NHL player steroids and watch them kill twist

  • metro9010 you're right

  • Pre-steroid Twister gets handled pretty easily there by Manson, and Van Dorp beats Chase. Great stuff!

  • No doubt. When Twister was off the juice, he was no where near as tough.

  • I remember Vad Dorp and Probert having some decent scraps back in the old Norris rivalry. Wow did Kelly Chase have some ugly ass hair!

  • Hell yeah. Good old days.

  • amen!
