I have been an Unsane fan since 1991's s/t. Before I heard Unsane I thought Slayer was the most evil sounding band ever to record. Its funny because Slayer fans always love to say things like......" Slayer is the only band who never changed their sound but somehow always got better." I would Respectfully Disagree. While Unsane's production value in terms of recorded output has changed since earlier recordings They remain one of the most menacing sounding acts in heavy rock. Truly talented.
Unsane made REAL music about the darkest aspects of American life. They weren't about shock for its own sake. There was real emotion behind their music.
Am I the only who thinks that the intro sounds a bit like "This Love" by Pantera? I mean, otherwise those two don't sound anything like each other, but still...
@Pugaciov "I saw the things that could be. And now they've gone to stay. You know that I can't take this, I cant watch this go away. It's not the things you told me. It's not the times you stayed. I know I fucked up, I can't make this go away.
@Pugaciov (not sure of the first part of the chorus) ..it's gone astray...against the grain..It wasnt what it should be, It wasnt all the ways, I know to watch what's coming, now I know it comes my way, and now we lost it all and all the times it could have stayed. We know we fucked up and now we know there's just no way...(i'm counting all the ways...its sitting in today...you say there is no way...it was against the grain...) {repeat first verse} it's not perfect, but it's the best i could do.
@Pugaciov keep the faith, brother! I saw these guys about 3 years ago in philidelphia with mouth of the architect (an amazing band) it was truly a reason to live....keep a'rockin! :)
I saw things that could be / and now they're come to stay / You know that I can't take this / I can't watch this thrown away / It's like those things you told me / it's like times we stayed / I know I fucked up / I can't make this go away / She kneels to pray / Things gone astray / Against the grain / It wasn't what it should be / It wasn't all the ways / I would not watch what's coming / now I know it comes my way...
UNSANE is the best, they do not need crazy solos and fast beats on drums, they just play with anger. Hope to see them in a show but I guess they will never come to Mexico. Anyway I love them.
chris is my guitar hero. not a sherdder but he has the sickest tone i like guys that make ugly noise on the guitar. though i do like george lynch and alex scholnick. chris is my influence
Yeah, I guess Soundgarden is a curse word here. Even though they helped expose the existence of independent music by being one of the most successful independent bands before signing to a major.
Not so much with other songs, but this song really reminds me of old school Soundgarden. Especially the early guitar lead over the sludgy bass driven opening riff. The production reminds me of it too. Vocals definitely don't. But the music does.
heard of these guys for a long time but had a hard time getting hold of their stuff...finally got their whole catalogue...fucking amazing band...sooooooooo fucking heavy
Awesome!! I saw Unsane 3 times live. So fucking great! First time in 1996, when they played with Neurosis. One of the best and heaviest evening of my life.
Can't believe I just found these guys, oh well. Better late than never \m/

Music reminds me of Soundgarden. Vocals don't obviously, but it's cool to hear this kind of music.

Not sure why you've got 3 thumbs down for this comment. There's defo a little there. That's not putting Unsane down, fanboys.

are you saying they sound similar? I love both soundgarden and unsane. but I can't say i hear much in common.

Fair enough. I imagine the vocals were the only thing that prevented it from being labeled grunge by the press back in the early 90s.

Man, I this is the first song I've heard from them since Occupational Hazard. Damn, they've changed if the songs sound like this, but I like it.
