When the Founders started this organization of ours, Scouting was in its infancy. The world is quite different than it used to be. Almost a full century has passed and this brotherhood of ours is much larger than what they had envisioned it in the beginning. The update does not replace the values that the Founders placed in us, it only serves to supplement them.
So I don't suppose that E Urner Goodman and Carol A Edson were two of the seven people in this meeting? Of course not. I don't know what gives any of us the right to change what the Founders were inspired to do. Read any thing that the Founders ever wrote about the OA and it is as relevant now as it has ever been. Too many people now have a sense of entitlement that we can do things how WE want. Times change, but inspiration does not.

Valid well thought points, there is NO justifiable reason to re-invent the proverbial wheel.
