Ron Paul would force Obama (or give Obama a chance) to talk about actual issues and actual solution. Not the same words that have been said for the last probably 30 years... Americans are somewhat stupid: they switch parties every 4 to 8 years usually, thinking that change will come not noticing (or maybe not caring) that they are just swinging between two branches of the same tree. And they completely disregard the fact that there are thousands of metaphorical trees in the political forest
Obama and Romney or Gingrich would bring out the worst in the debate and keep us politics as shallow as they have been in the last 12 years that i have been following us politics... it would be a debate along the "wall street guide lines" filled with slogans and empty words, that are meant to entice people with the least possible work and the least possible concrete things the candidate can be held accountable for once in office...
Barak obama always talks about bi-partisanship. and de-polarising partys.... THATS BAD FOR DEMOCRACY PEOPLE. We need more partys! Not less! Two is bad enough! Duapoly's are as bad as monopolys!
Regarding who I would rather see debating . . . Definitely Obama and Ron Paul. Any of the other Republican candidates are little more than robotic toer's of the party line, spewing out the same garbage rhetoric and talking points, vomiting out the same lies they have little or no intention of making good on. Ron Paul will discuss issues that matter . . . issues that Obama simply will not have answers to (not solid answers, at any rate). These ideas should have a global stage. Hoping!
I was a supporter of Obama in 08 . . . largely because I believed he would do less damage than McCain (which I still maintain). However, this administration has made it abundantly clear that this is just more of the same. He has taken to worst of GW (namely, the Patriot Acts and the Military Commissions Act of 2006 and etc.) and pushed them still further with the passage of NDAA, which I believe to be the single worst action by any president in our nations history . . . continued in next post
@jubjub2112 With the passage of NDAA, this president and all future presidents now hold the power of judge, jury and executioner . . . literally! Habeas corpus has had its teeth removed and we are now standing virtually defenseless before a rapidly swelling government. Look to your history . . . the precedents we have for former republics or 'democracies' allowing their ruler(s) this sort of power do not offer us even the faintest glimmer of hope. continued . . .
@jubjub2112 I am wondering why you think we are some sort of an exception . . . With the passage of NDAA we are much closer to a fascist state now than I think most people understand. All our government is wanting now is a major crisis, the answer to which will likely be martial law, and the stripping of what few civil liberties and genuine rights we have left. As I said . . . this has definite precedence in history . . . continued. . .
@jubjub2112 can you show me any historical precedence that shows the opposite? I would like to see it if you can. If you were outraged at the passage of the Patriot Acts and the Military Commissions Act of 2006 (to name only two of the horrible things done under GW Bush), then I would say that for you to NOT be outraged at the passage of NDAA is blatant hypocrisy. My support of Ron Paul is based on his unwavering support of the Constitution and individual civil liberties . ; . continued . . .
@jubjub2112 . . . I also agree with his opposition to the launching of illegal wars of belligerence and with his determination to bring the troops home. Further I am in support of his determination to stop meddling in the affairs of the rest of the world in a vain attempt to force others to be like us. His platform is to lead by example, not force. I agree with his stance on ending the fruitless wars on drugs and terror (neither of which are intended to have any end) . . . continued . . .
@jubjub2112 There are many things I like about Ron Paul and there are other things I don't like about Ron Paul. However, those things I don't like about him are nowhere near as important as those things I support in Paul. For me to allow these other issues to keep me from supporting Ron Paul would be tantamount to focusing all my energy on an ingrown toenail, while ignoring the massive malignant tumors in my heart and brain. For these and many other reasons, I will vote for Ron Paul 2012.
@jubjub2112 Just watched your video on Terrorists on Trial . . . so clearly you are not a hypocrite on the matter of NDAA . . . Forgive my inference that you were a hypocrite . . . I would like to ask you, however, why you would still support Obama's administration after the passage of the NDAA? And for my next post . . . I will actually address what you request in this video clip!
Here's my question: how do you vote? I know, its stupid of me to ask. But seriously, before I can decide on a candidate, I gotta know how voting works, where to go, looking for the people..come on! Where are the voters? Come on out! Hide and seek is not my kind of game!
Obama’s claim that the war has come to a end?It turns out the Obama administration is leaving behind a huge contingent from the State Department along with thousands of armed private contractors.Close to 100 of the big-money bundlers for Obama’s reelection team have ties to investment banks and other financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, and Bank of America--each of which received tens of millions of dollars in bailout money at the start of the recession
“President Obama’s action today is a blight on his legacy because he will forever be known as the president who signed indefinite detention without charge or trial into law,The statute is particularly dangerous because it has no temporal or geographic limitations, and can be used by this and future presidents to militarily detain people captured far from any battlefield. The ACLU will fight worldwide detention authority wherever we can, be it in court, in Congress, or internationally.”
I remember why I unsubscribed to you... Ron Paul > Barack Obama. If you think ruling by executive order and violating the Constitution--polarizing the Country more than it has been in decades, engaging in more wars--Iran, Syria, class warfare then by all means VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA
Obama and Romney are the same. Their best interests are corporations, banks, and the military industrial complex. Their debate will be the same old shit of not addressing anything of real importance and just telling whatever lies it takes to get elected.
Ron Paul would talk about ending the Federal Reserve, the devaluation of the dollar, illegal wars, the Constitution, personal liberties, smaller government, income tax, and so on. You know, stuff the other guys don't dare touch.
Is it just me or did @maxguards preety much do exactly what pogobat said not. Most of it is true. The other candidate unless its Ron Paul would bash Obama. Obama would stay clean and keep winning. Yeah thats all true but maxguard raps it up with sh*t. Obama would continue to do very well if re-elected. We would begin to see more of the effects of health care reform during his 2nd term. He could push for more of the many reforms that congress failed to support him in also focus on middle and poor.
From 1:12 to 1:14 is the most intellegent section of your video. Sweet room, do your parents know you are online? When you grow up and finally live in the real world I'll be back to see what you have to say. :D
Obama would talk about Obamacare, Romney would bash him, Obama would ask about Romneycare, Romney would say it is COMPLETELY different even though it is exactly the same. They'd agree that all the banks need to be bailed out, but then somehow bash the banks for being bailed out. Romney would say he spent the money wrong. Obama would argue to increase spending $200 billion, but Romney only $100 billion. They would both have dinner at Goldman Sachs afterwards and discuss the best ways to bomb Iran
@1:45 he says he's not sure if Obama's lived up to the promise of changing the way we did politics, "steer it in a much less polarized direction"....... than goes on to say that "this isn't the point of the video".... Correct?
Well I will discuss it in one sentence.
Odrama says one thing which convinces the audience that he's one of them and than a week or month later does the opposite blaming the opposition in the process through his staff.
i have a feeling that you may be a hipster. reason: Ron Paul has started to get so much attention that some (not all) of the hipsters may have started to think that it's not cool to fully support Ron Paul and that it will make them look more intelligent if they keep thinking things over. i got news for you: if yo don't fully support Ron Paul NOW, there will be no Obama/Paul debate but an Obama/Romney debate this fall. and then it will be too f**ng late. your call!
Here's the thing. Yes, a debate between Paul and Obama would be great entertainment. But if you're serious about politics - not as a sport - you don't need a debate to decide who you're throwing support behind (ask any third-part voter whose candidate has been excluded from the debate). Besides, Ron Paul has 30 years of "debate" footage available on here. Whether in the form of speechs, interviews, whatever - his platform really hasn't changed in 30 years, and it's not about to change.
The difference would be that the conversation between Romney and Obama would have nothing to do with our constitution. It wouldn't involve rebuilding out country as a whole and leaving the rest of the world alone.
Put it this way I am somewhat a politcal junky and it would be highly unusual for me not to tune in to a presidential debate. Having said that I can easily see myself foregoing a Obama/Romney debate, especially if there is "Everybody Loves Raymond" reruns on the next channel over. Conversely an Obama/Paul debate would be better than the Super Bowl. Without getting too wonkish suffice it to say they would keep other honest. A 3 person debate with Obama, Paul and Romney wouldn't be bad either.
It was really unnecessary to mock Ron Paul supporters. I completely agree with your point about how that would be the significantly better debate. However you essentially call Ron Paul supporters stupid in this video by stating that the "angriest and most misinformed people are also the loudest people" while talking about all the Ron Paul supporters in your comment section.
That unnecessary jab at Ron Paul supporters based on your comment section really took away from your point.
@mhoyer01 Dan Brown is a smart guy, trust me, but he always tells us not to be a "zombie" and mindlessly agree with him. While I don't agree with him on this video, I've agreed with him on many of his videos more often than not, he's most certainly not just a ranting lunatic.
I support Obama because I support the Afghan war. I also support leaving a billion-dollar base in Iraq forever. I also support the DEA crackdown of medical marijuana dispensaries in CA. Oh, yeah, and I support the wall st bailouts. Yeah, those were good. And then there is NDAA that deletes our right to habeas corpus. That was good too. Thanks to Obama for signing that. We also need more govt spending, because it has been so effective at improving the economy. Sheesh. :(
Obama is nothing more than the third Bush Administration. I applaud him for getting OBL, but his administration really couldve fixed healthcare in this country but instead his Chief of Staff gave away the greatest negotiating chip before day one. He also did not address at all the antitrust exemption the insurance companies have that would've opened up the system to true competition. As for Dodd Frank, it's all smoke and mirrors there is no real change in that either. Too Big to fail addressed?
You suggesting we rewrite the Constitution? To understand the Constitution is to understand it was constructed as a barrier to government dominance over the populace. The phrase We the People signifies that the government exists to serve the citizens of this country as opposed to other forms of government. The problem we are experiencing appear to stem from the polarized opinions on both sides of the aisle but if you look at Obama as the most recent example, they are two sides of the same coin.
The debate between Obama and Romney would be very political and lacking in real substance. The debate between Obama and Ron Paul would talk about crucial issues to the improvement of our country. Even then, uniformed americans will vote for the better speaking candidate. Uninformed americans will vote for the individual who at the moment in time pleases them, not in solid facts, but in an ever changing emotional way.
he is a link to help you people who dont know too much about ron paul unfortanatly youtube doesnt allow links so be sure to copy and paste this in the address bar and add DOT c0m after youtube and the three W's youtube/watch?v=92OV3RbU3ek
Ron Paul is 10x better than the other candidates at the moment the others are crappy and have terrible ideas at least ron paul is trying to help the country and not other countrys we do need to mind our own business not get into other countrys (blowback) plus IF there are conspiracy theorys in his ad what is to say the other candidates ads dont? Obama is fuckin worse than everyone he hasnt done shit he hasnt owned up to what he has said-i bet half his votes were bcus he was "black"
obama is a liar that's funded by the same corporations as romney. he's done the opposite of everything he's said he would do. you supporting barack obama doesn't make too much sense to me.
If people were able to think about the real issues at hand we wouldn't be in this situation we are in but most people don't even know we're in a time that is suppose to be "civilized" and America has decided we are an "information" age. That's what happens when you are so busy worrying about everything. Our forefather's set up some very specific guidelines as how to do things and even placed a lot of provision's in place to protect our civil liberties and prevent the the corruption we see. WTF
To answer your question... There is a huge difference between Mitt Romney debating with Obama and Ron Paul debating with Obama. Mitt's beliefs and Ron Paul's are different. Another thing is that one candidate is sincere and not part of the "System". The main thing for every American is that to think about is "Do you believe in the Constitution as the ultimate law of the land and how valuable is Freedom?" WOW
The people that have most of the money look at us as slaves, and take most of our money.
People who know anything about the Constitution support Ron Paul. If you want to continue to go bankrupt as a Nation and move further and further towards a socialist government, vote for one of the others. But when they take away the rest of your rights and you are forced to take the medical RFID Chip, don't say no one warned you!
YES! Opinions based on your research! I, personally, endorse Barack Obama. My issue with people is NOT their choice in voting, but their ignorance altogether! If you're going to vote, please vote for a president that you KNOW will benefit our country.
The biggest difference between Mitt v Obama and Paul v Obama is that Mitt and Obama are both chameleons, they change their talk, their views and stances to seek approval of the demographic of that time. Both men have not stood on basic principles that they themselves are on the record for claiming true. Paul on the other hand has been speaking the same thing for decades and has not changed his main speaking points.
A debate between Obama / Romney would be like this:
- Romney would criticize everything Obama said, especially Obamacare. But he wouldn't criticize the important stuff though: the NDAA, big government stuff, turning this country into a fucking corporation/wall street government. He would try to make him look like an evil socialist.
- Obama would continue to speak pretty and crush Romney on arguments. But I seriously doubt that his actions are going to be the right ones if gets elected this time.
@maxguarda While you and I probably disagree politically, I do believe that you hit the nail right on the head. A debate between Obama and Paul would be over fundamental issues and not just a lot of BS. That of course hinges on if we can keep them both telling the truth about what they really believe in and not just smack, or what they think we want to hear. I trust Ron Paul to be more candid, Can't tell you if that is factual or just my bias.
Hey dude even though I get your point on how Obama's MESSAGE was very good don't you think his actions say otherwise? For example: not bringing the troops back on the original schedule, signing to approve the NDA, driving NATO into Russia and not keeping a close watch on the drones that we lost? In my opinion Obama is like the greatest actor ever, he truly convinces people to go for him. He's smart, no doubt about it, but he's trapped in a system that he isn't willing to change.
@maxguarda Exactly. I just don't get why some people who seem to me to be pretty smart just don't get that Obama is a huge puppet. It's like he controls his mouth and the Banks and Corporations control his body. And you can see why if you look at his campaign contributions.
@samm1809 I can understand why people voted for Obama. But people need to look at what he has done as president. Has he lived up to his promises? No he hasn't. Funny how the "anti war" candidate ended up getting us into war with Libya. He talked about change but hasn't provided any real change. It's just more of the same. More war, more corporate welfare, more government spending, more restrictions on our liberties ETC. Ron Paul is the only guy who will bring some real hope and change.
@maxguarda A few things: NDAA cannot be anything but passed. Yes, that's evil, but Obama had no say in signing that one. Even vetoing it would have done nothing, let alone the fact that if he did it would pull funding for the military. Congress has far more power than the president. I think that's been proven with how he tries to change things and FAILS. He's not unwilling to change it. He's unable because of our congress-based system. One diamond in a pile of shit is still shit in that system.
Why did you ever think that Obama was ever going to change politics. Look at his history! He has a very narrow minded direction. He has always voted for the same...big government, socialism minded bills, lied to the people as to what he was going to do once he got in an office, and was apart of ACORN!!! Ohh my word...
If you support Barack Obama you are a moron. Increased the debt by 4 trillion in 3 and a half years. Has done little to nothing as president. can liberals not do math or do you just want someone else to do it for them? dependency does not work.
Obama had a great clear vision, and then refused to do the work to fight for it. He simply became a yes-man for the establishment, and another 4 years of watching our government waste a pile of money on nothing is not useful at all.
Mitt Romney is a flip-flopping, 1%er, who has so much going against him. Have you ever seen the GOP debates? All of the candidates call each other out on their "inconsistencies" or their "involvement with lobbyists." There is only 1 candidate, period, in the entire potential presidential election who is a truthful statesman and that is Ron Paul.

I think a debate between Obama & Ron Paul would differ from that of Obama & Romney, because it would change the subject matter from “how?" to “why?" Let's face it, despite the fact that democrats & republicans have different political views, they tend to both be for big government. They just have different ideas on how to use that big government. I think it's important to have the benefits of government brought into question, once in a while. Checks & balances are the foundation of democracy
Just how stupid is this person? To believe that Obama EVER had a clear vision about leading the free world is to admit a profound ignorance. Of course, with such a "catchy" title as 'pogobat' it hardly seems necessary to call this fool what most people who have viewed him must already be thinking,
To [BlackoutOmega] I know you said this in a different context (rightly attacking the ad hominems), but I have heard the same kind of innuendo from the media, and, sadly, it really does give people the impression that Ron Paul is against the war on drugs (etc.) to appeal to younger voters. But Paul reaches his conclusions based on principle, which is why he has been extraordinarily consistent. Obama uses rhetoric for exploitation. He stomps the Constitution, and, yet, people still support him.
"the...reason why people...think Ron is so great is because he is against SOPA and wants to end the war on drugs." I feel like people use this rhetoric to undermine (young) Ron Paul supporters and the validity of his arguments. Really, you can reach most of Ron Paul's conclusions by accepting a single, reasonable premise: People may exercise human rights in any manner they choose so long as it does not interfere with the exercise of the rights of others. (no initiation of force)
As a Ron Paul supporter, I actually really like what you had to say. I think if Barack had been more true to his progressive/socialist ideals, then a debate between him and Paul would be a good argument between statism vs liberty, big government vs small government, intervention vs nonintervention, Hayek vs Keynes, etc. Unfortunately, Obama is not the idealist you guys have made him out to be, and love him or hate him, Ron Paul is. I think a Nader/Paul debate would be much more riveting.
Most of those documentaries are conspiracy facts. You really don't understand whats going on with our country and the New World Order. Check out Alex Jones Channel he's got most of the answers and knows a lot more about this than you.
@jmanturbo31 Dude even Alex Jones "Info Wars" i have caught in lies. Sure somethings he says are true, but its obvious what he says. Mostly what he says has already been started he just summarizes it up and takes the credit
2186, why don't you listen more carefully to what he is saying? And, why don't you read what I wrote more carefully? My comments were more in line of providing information, rather than debating.
Why did you make your post here if you are a Paul supporter? Do you think your comments help to increase RP's success in his bid for the GOP presidential nomination? Even if he is ignorant and brain washed, that is not the same as being stupid.
you say conspiracy theories like we're crazy. most of the government conspiracy theories are true... just people are told to shut up or are killed by our government.
I am voting for Ron Paul. While I do not agree with you on Obama being the better Candidate, I thoroughly agree that the debate between Paul and Obama would by far be the most riveting. A debate like that would force voters to think outside the box.
@derky101 obama is a cia insider... he is an extension of bush... and romney will be an extension of obama.. obama lied to you repeatedly over the last 4 years... how can you believe ANYTHING he says... once a liar always a liar.
A debate between Ron Paul and Barack Obama would be different than a debate between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama in that the former only has one politician paid for by banks and one politician literally brought up by the people, with no dirty money whatsoever. The latter would involve two politicians who's campaigns have been funded by the same "people" (JP Morgan, Goldman Sacchs,).
I would recommend looking at what Ron Paul's view on foreign policy, the economy, and the "people" are.
You have a couple of positive things going for you: you do think about the situation in this country and what can be done to improve it; you take the time to do something about it. Those are important things, but you need go to even further and look deeper into what the Obama administration has done so far, and what a Ron Paul administration would mean.
You should find Glenn Greenwald's article "Progressives and the Ron Paul fallacies" very helpful in expanding your knowledge of the Obama presidency. Greenwald is a progressive Democratic and one time supporter of Obama's. Search for the article by name and find it at Salon.com. Skip about 14 or 15 paragraphs to the paragraph that starts with “The fallacy in this reasoning is glaring.” for starters. Of course, read the entire article as you have time.
Maybe you already have a good notion of what a RP administration would be like, but here goes: An end to US hostilities in Afghanistan; a much more productive policy toward Iran; the closing of US military bases around the world; the return to the rule of law with regard to War On Terror detainees; closing of Guantanamo and CIA black sites; the freeing of non-violent drug offenders; the end of the War On Drugs; much more transparency of the federal government, freeing of Bradley Manning; …
You want less polarization in America? Then you should be supporting the philosophy of non-aggression in which Ron Paul believes. You get the kind of polarization we have today when the main tool for social progress is coercion. While the bottom-up approach that RP advocates isn't perfect, the top-down approach of conventional wisdom is not only a disaster, it fuels the polarization we all dislike.
I think if you know much about RP at all, you see the claims that he is a racists as being totally false. You can watch some people disputing those racist claims by searching for “Blacks for Ron Paul” on YouTube. Don't miss Angel Robinson's “Ron Paul Will Change You” YouTube video. The brainy, beautiful and black Iris Mack endorses Ron Paul. White liberal/progressive Oliver Stone says he would vote for RP if he is running against Obama.
Barack Obama was symbolic, that is all. You are a fool to keep following that stool pigeon. Especially with all the information out there about Ron Paul. Obama was, and still is a nobody. Obama would lose to Ron Paul. For the simple fact he'd get all the Republican, some Independent and some Democrat votes. If Obama isn't a liar, then he at least is a fool, he had no qualifying reasons to be president. That's why he is a tool now. You voted in a bobble head, when we needed a leader...the end.
Ron Paul would probably turn the crowd on Barack Obama;I'm pretty sure Ron Paul is the real deal HARDCORE AMERICAN. Barack Obama is all rhetoric, and no action.
Barack Obama in theory would be a great president. However promising hope and change isn't what makes a president when our political system is still the same.
Ron Paul can actually win this election, he has an overwhelming base of supporters the only problem is people don't know it exists. If everyone who believes in Ron Paul, like i do, votes for him he has a real shot at winning this nominee spot. THumbs up to support Ron Paul.
The difference is that Ron Paul says things that are true and the other candidates say what they think is popular... Ron Paul has had the same positions on pretty much everything the entire time I've been aware of his existence, and most of the other players have changed in some way to match their audience.
Y'know it's funny, everyone is saying Dan is an idiot, yet he is probably 3 times smarter than anyone here. You people probably know jack shit about politics, the only reason why people probably think Ron is so great is because he is against SOPA and wants to end the war on drugs. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love Ron Paul and i'm canadian, but you people should think before you call Dan an idiot.
@BlackoutOmega Dan reminds me of those nerds who think they are so into politics and know so very much while its nothing more than pseudo-informed on politics. Might as well be the guy who cares only for SOPA and drugs.
Who knows, maybe hes not, its just what he comes off as for me.
@SplinterX17 "if you're Canadian why don't you shut up because you don't have to live with Barack Obama as your president"
Take another look, Splinter. The whole damned world has to live with whoever the POTUS is.
If you actually support Ron Paul, consider what you want to accomplish before you blast out at folks who express a different opinion. If you would like to see support for RP grow, it will have to do so in spite of what you and other like you are dong here.
@BlackoutOmega The problem is he is a bit of an idiot as he dismisses "the Obama deception" documentary, even though anybody with half a brain can tell everything in that documentary is true and Obama is just a puppet for the elite like everyone else except for a few people like Ron Paul.
so, you did an 8 ball before the video....thats obvious. second, all you did was ramble on about NOTHING, for 4 minutes. ron paul is a fantastic canadite. Its just that his intelect is too advanced for most citizens to comprehend....including yourself. thats why morons like you, vote mindlessly for politicians based on their faith, or their ability to "dumb down" economics, so that idiots falsely understand what a hundred millionaire running for president is falsely promising them in his campaig
Barack Obama's debate would have him lying about bringing the troops home. "First thing on my agenda" said Barack Obama about bringing the troops home in 2008.
Ron Paul's debate would actually have real answers and plans. His wouldn't be political bullshit and wouldn't be vague statements like "We need a change in this country." Thanks Captain Obvious.
You like Barack Obama? Make a video on why, because I think you're an idiot.
If you had a debate between BO/MR and the listener only heard what was said (no visuals) and there were voice disguisers for both candidates, the listener would have a difficult time trying to figure out which candidate is which. Same scenario but between BO/RP, the listener would be able to distinguish between the two because one would actually be talking about personal liberties and protecting them against the gov't. "He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither." Benjamin Franklin
why would you be so stoked for change in 2008?obama wants to run are country like a street gang (the local stores in the naborhood have to pay a tax to the gang for protection) this country was the best country in the world cuz we were free.. its as simple as that bro! we dont need any higher ups tellin us how to live are lives. if thats the kinda country you wana live in move to china.. in your next video how about you explain why you think are country needed change so much in the first place?
As a supporter of liberty and, by extension, Ron Paul, I would like to apologize for all Ron Paul supporters who have made unhelpful and idiotic comments on your videos, by insulting you and making ad hominem attacks on your person instead of debating the things that you've said. While I disagree with many of your personal political beliefs, I appreciate the attitude that you offer in being willing to intelligently debate. Thanks for being willing to discuss hard topics like politics! Rock on!
So you support Obama, but if he fails and the presidency goes to the Republicans, you at least want Ron Paul rather than some status quo Republican who will be another George Bush.
dan u said a very close minded thing there, it surprised me, u said the comments showed that the most angry and misinformed people are the loudest. its actually such a typical media bullshit move that i never expected from u. u used one bad comment and generalised all the other pro ron paul comments in the same way, i read those comments, and ur video just proved that u didnt actually read them urself, u just saw Ron paul's name and assumed it was ignorant crap. u have a long way to go man
Fuck a debate, a debate is Politicians saying things they're going to do, and telling us shit we already know about the world. We know we're in a crisis, we know un-employment rates are absolutely ridiculous, and that our troops need to come home. We need someone like Ron Paul who's actually going to "DO" instead of "SAY". Ron Paul 2012.
I know debates are a lot deeper then I made them out to be, but I was just making an example.
"it requires thinking about things differently than we're used to thinking about them"
What if all those a5sholes who periodically vote stopped feeding the machine and showed just how irrelevant it was? Wouldn't that be nice.
Answer: Paul would challenge Obama on the wars and the bailouts. The left used to want to take from the rich and give to the poor in the name of the greater good. Now it wants to take from the poor and give to the rich in the name of systemic risk. Same 5hit, diff victims
The only good candidates for president aren't running. Neither party has a candidate worth a crap. I agree with you about the debate. Ron Paul has some crazy ideas but lots of valid ideas. I think it is important that he is bringing issues to light that should be debated. He will expose Obama for the fraud that he is but he could never be elected which is also OK with me.
Paul claims to follow the constitution except leaves out the parts that don't suit him.
Ron Paul's the only candidate who understands economics. He's the only candidate who knows what is and isn't the federal government's business. He's the only candidate who actually has a plan to help our economy, whereas Obama has doubled our debt.
The interesting think about Ron Paul is that he is (in some ways) quite "leftish" for a republican, a debate between him and Obama would make the "center of gravity" move to the "left".I use "" because US politicians aren't left at all.
A debate between Romney and Obama will be "same sh1t different year"
Oh an one more thing
If the Republicans want to win these elections they have to go for Ron Paul.
Obama and Romney or Gingrich would bring out the worst in the debate and keep us politics as shallow as they have been in the last 12 years that i have been following us politics... it would be a debate along the "wall street guide lines" filled with slogans and empty words, that are meant to entice people with the least possible work and the least possible concrete things the candidate can be held accountable for once in office...

fitedeltachi 5 days ago
Regarding who I would rather see debating . . . Definitely Obama and Ron Paul. Any of the other Republican candidates are little more than robotic toer's of the party line, spewing out the same garbage rhetoric and talking points, vomiting out the same lies they have little or no intention of making good on. Ron Paul will discuss issues that matter . . . issues that Obama simply will not have answers to (not solid answers, at any rate). These ideas should have a global stage. Hoping!
jubjub2112 5 days ago 2
I was a supporter of Obama in 08 . . . largely because I believed he would do less damage than McCain (which I still maintain). However, this administration has made it abundantly clear that this is just more of the same. He has taken to worst of GW (namely, the Patriot Acts and the Military Commissions Act of 2006 and etc.) and pushed them still further with the passage of NDAA, which I believe to be the single worst action by any president in our nations history . . . continued in next post
jubjub2112 5 days ago
@jubjub2112 With the passage of NDAA, this president and all future presidents now hold the power of judge, jury and executioner . . . literally! Habeas corpus has had its teeth removed and we are now standing virtually defenseless before a rapidly swelling government. Look to your history . . . the precedents we have for former republics or 'democracies' allowing their ruler(s) this sort of power do not offer us even the faintest glimmer of hope. continued . . .
jubjub2112 5 days ago
@jubjub2112 I am wondering why you think we are some sort of an exception . . . With the passage of NDAA we are much closer to a fascist state now than I think most people understand. All our government is wanting now is a major crisis, the answer to which will likely be martial law, and the stripping of what few civil liberties and genuine rights we have left. As I said . . . this has definite precedence in history . . . continued. . .
jubjub2112 5 days ago
@jubjub2112 can you show me any historical precedence that shows the opposite? I would like to see it if you can. If you were outraged at the passage of the Patriot Acts and the Military Commissions Act of 2006 (to name only two of the horrible things done under GW Bush), then I would say that for you to NOT be outraged at the passage of NDAA is blatant hypocrisy. My support of Ron Paul is based on his unwavering support of the Constitution and individual civil liberties . ; . continued . . .
jubjub2112 5 days ago
@jubjub2112 . . . I also agree with his opposition to the launching of illegal wars of belligerence and with his determination to bring the troops home. Further I am in support of his determination to stop meddling in the affairs of the rest of the world in a vain attempt to force others to be like us. His platform is to lead by example, not force. I agree with his stance on ending the fruitless wars on drugs and terror (neither of which are intended to have any end) . . . continued . . .
jubjub2112 5 days ago
@jubjub2112 There are many things I like about Ron Paul and there are other things I don't like about Ron Paul. However, those things I don't like about him are nowhere near as important as those things I support in Paul. For me to allow these other issues to keep me from supporting Ron Paul would be tantamount to focusing all my energy on an ingrown toenail, while ignoring the massive malignant tumors in my heart and brain. For these and many other reasons, I will vote for Ron Paul 2012.
jubjub2112 5 days ago
@jubjub2112 Just watched your video on Terrorists on Trial . . . so clearly you are not a hypocrite on the matter of NDAA . . . Forgive my inference that you were a hypocrite . . . I would like to ask you, however, why you would still support Obama's administration after the passage of the NDAA? And for my next post . . . I will actually address what you request in this video clip!

Yeah thats all true but maxguard raps it up with sh*t. Obama would continue to do very well if re-elected. We would begin to see more of the effects of health care reform during his 2nd term. He could push for more of the many reforms that congress failed to support him in also focus on middle and poor.

CarlWood 2 weeks ago 16

BTraxler 1 month ago
A debate between Obama / Romney would be like this:
- Romney would criticize everything Obama said, especially Obamacare. But he wouldn't criticize the important stuff though: the NDAA, big government stuff, turning this country into a fucking corporation/wall street government. He would try to make him look like an evil socialist.
- Obama would continue to speak pretty and crush Romney on arguments. But I seriously doubt that his actions are going to be the right ones if gets elected this time.
maxguarda 1 month ago 28
@maxguarda While you and I probably disagree politically, I do believe that you hit the nail right on the head. A debate between Obama and Paul would be over fundamental issues and not just a lot of BS. That of course hinges on if we can keep them both telling the truth about what they really believe in and not just smack, or what they think we want to hear. I trust Ron Paul to be more candid, Can't tell you if that is factual or just my bias.
lrockyl1 3 weeks ago
Hey dude even though I get your point on how Obama's MESSAGE was very good don't you think his actions say otherwise? For example: not bringing the troops back on the original schedule, signing to approve the NDA, driving NATO into Russia and not keeping a close watch on the drones that we lost? In my opinion Obama is like the greatest actor ever, he truly convinces people to go for him. He's smart, no doubt about it, but he's trapped in a system that he isn't willing to change.
maxguarda 1 month ago 17
@maxguarda Exactly. I just don't get why some people who seem to me to be pretty smart just don't get that Obama is a huge puppet. It's like he controls his mouth and the Banks and Corporations control his body. And you can see why if you look at his campaign contributions.
samm1809 1 month ago
@samm1809 I can understand why people voted for Obama. But people need to look at what he has done as president. Has he lived up to his promises? No he hasn't. Funny how the "anti war" candidate ended up getting us into war with Libya. He talked about change but hasn't provided any real change. It's just more of the same. More war, more corporate welfare, more government spending, more restrictions on our liberties ETC. Ron Paul is the only guy who will bring some real hope and change.
purplemutantas 3 weeks ago
@purplemutantas True. It also helped that the media was in passionate love with obama during his campaign, though.
samm1809 3 weeks ago
@maxguarda A few things: NDAA cannot be anything but passed. Yes, that's evil, but Obama had no say in signing that one. Even vetoing it would have done nothing, let alone the fact that if he did it would pull funding for the military. Congress has far more power than the president. I think that's been proven with how he tries to change things and FAILS. He's not unwilling to change it. He's unable because of our congress-based system. One diamond in a pile of shit is still shit in that system.
NOVAtheRetard 3 weeks ago
Why did you ever think that Obama was ever going to change politics. Look at his history! He has a very narrow minded direction.

@thisismyusernamemr agreed. I've never seen somebody so ignorant and brain washed. I also think that he needs to lay off of the cocaine.

I can't understand Obama supporters. They wanted to usher out bush's socialism for obamas socialism. It's very frustrating to walk out my front door.

I am voting for Ron Paul. While I do not agree with you on Obama being the better Candidate, I thoroughly agree that the debate between Paul and Obama would by far be the most riveting. A debate like that would force voters to think outside the box.
derky101 1 month ago
@derky101 obama is a cia insider... he is an extension of bush... and romney will be an extension of obama.. obama lied to you repeatedly over the last 4 years... how can you believe ANYTHING he says... once a liar always a liar.
Ron Paul 2012!

Those are important things, but you need go to even further and look deeper into what the Obama administration has done so far, and what a Ron Paul administration would mean.
lspooner 1 month ago

While the bottom-up approach that RP advocates isn't perfect, the top-down approach of conventional wisdom is not only a disaster, it fuels the polarization we all dislike.
lspooner 1 month ago

I think Romney would try to make a 10K bet with Obama.
I admire Ron Paul's consistency, and I wonder how he would be in office.

Ron Paul 2012!

Rock on!

dan u said a very close minded thing there, it surprised me, u said the comments showed that the most angry and misinformed people are the loudest. its actually such a typical media bullshit move that i never expected from u. u used one bad comment and generalised all the other pro ron paul comments in the same way, i read those comments, and ur video just proved that u didnt actually read them urself, u just saw Ron paul's name and assumed it was ignorant crap. u have a long way to go man
