I got, the reason you are an Atheist, for some reason you are angry with God. What kind of fucked up reasoning is that? I'm pissed at you, so I won't believe you exist. How does that make any sense? Point of fact, I am agnostic and never implied that I was an Atheist. The argue was about whether or not the Bible is 100% true. I claim that since it mentions things that are completely impossible, then it cannot be true.
@Jonstern1983 Yeah, that's another classic. I think part of it is projection and also Typical Mind Fallacy. They might be living in denial about various things, so they assume everyone else is, too.
It's certainly a conversation stopped. All meaningful communication breaks down with a person like that.
@Jonstern1983 You cant be an atheist for being mad at God you dumb fucking ignoramus. Atheism is THE LACK IN A BELIEF IN GOD! Hes as mad at God as I am with The White Witch In Narnia.
@MrChris7586 Did you read my post? The anger with god thing is something that someone told me about myself. I agree with you, so please don't call me a dumb fucking ignoramus for saying the exact same thing that you're saying.
@MrChris7586 It's okay, just next time read the full post before you reply to it. Granted I often comment on videos the second I hear something I find to be fucked up, like when that woman. What sparked the argument was her saying, "Everything in the Bible is true." So I listed a few things that were scientifically impossible (EX. the sun stopping in the sky, rabbits chewing their cud), or morally disgusting (EX. stoning unruly teenagers, giving your own daughters to a mob of rapists).

"There is a supernatural aspect to this world."
The immediate atheist response to a statement like this is usually to make jokes about fairies and flying spaghetti monsters but their inability to acknowledge this as even a possibility makes any intellectual investigation they do pointless. They're forced into a position of coming up with alternate explanations for what Christians know is truth.
For fun discussion without the usual Atheist/Christian ranting, check out my channel.
Wow, you've completely fabricated an 'atheist's' response to try and make atheists seem unintelligent while also shamelessly advertising your own crappy channel. Well done. Glad to see Theists keeping the tradition of dishonest discussion alive :)
Being certain is just a mental sensation, and does not account as evidence or fact. Read "On Being Certain" by Robert Burton. By thinking that you know the answer, you block yourself from going forward in life and gaining knowledge. Atheists and Creationists do this on the occasion, and it is something you must be aware of in order to overcome.
"There is a supernatural aspect to this world; inability to acknowledge this as even a possibility"
the supernatural is undetectable by our messuring standards. therefor it can never been proven if something was or wasn't done by a supernatural cause. for instance. gravity might be caused by the hand of God pushing us down. However we cannot control the supernatural to do what we want it to do. therefor any explination saying God did it. is discarded. because: 1)it can not be proven
2) there is no practical aplication if God really did it. and therefor this awnser is not satisfying for a scientist, because they want to have control over the natural world around them.
@panterguy WOW, reading my comment from back then, makes me wonder if i was drunk at the time. I almost get the feeling it's an creationist approving comment.
Exactly. It's really a debate closer, pathetic as it may be. It's in the same category as "It's all a conspiracy!" and "Satan is behind it!", really. They're basically saying you're a liar, so why would they believe anything you're saying? No matter how supported it is by evidence?
Pathetic. But I'm not entirely sure what is actually going through their minds when they say something like that. I wonder if they realize they're cornered.
"But I'm not entirely sure what is actually going through their minds when they say something like that."
If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's an example of extreme mental inertia ("close-mindedness") - when people simply can't imagine or allow other people to have a substantiated opinion that undermines their own. It can be extremely hard to admit being wrong even to rational people, but for someone who didn't have to do it once in their life, and who's mentality opposes this as a whole...
If someone familiar with Evolution on the basic level was to be presented with evidence that Tree of Life isn't exactly a tree but a lot more like a web*, they probably wouldn't have much trouble accepting the concept as long as there is evidence to support it. However, it will be a lot harder to do for people who worked with the tree itself for years on end, or to those who accepted such things as law rather than substance.
*Google: "Why Darwin was wrong about the tree of life".
Got that article from a fundie, by the way, as part of his genius plan of disproving evolution (of course). Interesting stuff, not sure if you're familiar with it by now or not.
"If you're not a christian now, you never really were one to begin with."
Hello, hello. I would like to disagree that this is an ad hominem argument, but rather it's a core biblical doctrine called Perseverance of the Saints.
See: Matthew 7:23, John 6:37, John 10:27-28, Philippians 1:6.
They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us. 1 John 2:19
I probably shouldn't have used this as an example, since there are many other, better ones, but this is just a common one, and I would actually argue that it is often presented in an ad hominem fahsion (or rather, some kind of projection or assumption on the part of the opponent.)
The main point is that assumptions are being made on the other's behalf without any evidence or justification.
But yes, this particular one has a reference in the Bible, as you showed. Thanks.
However, I suppose if you look at it in relative terms, well... let's just say some people around here are making me feel a bit better about myself. ;)
Yep, I hear that and other similar garbage all the time like your just mad at god or you are angry that is why and you don't have any morals and you can't celebrate Christmas then or your just stubborn or you don't believe because knowledge has led you away from god or too much knowledge bad for you. The mental abuse is really horrible. I will not love you unless you accept my faith as your own belief system is how I was raised. Be glad you were not raised by parents like mine.
I hear you. They probably think all these are good arguments, but they're all based on this incredibly stupid notion of thinking that you know what someone else is thinking. It's simply mind-boggling.
I am indeed glad I wasn't raised by parents like yours. I was lucky in that respect, especially since I grew up in a fairly religious community.
Oh, and don't forget about the devil has you, lucifer is controlling your life, your living for lucifer, you are possessed by demons. Nothing you do is any good unless you believe in Jesus. You could be a brain surgeon in my parents eyes and still be a piece of crap if you don't believe in Jesus. Nothing else matters. That was kinda cathartic. Sex is evil. Isolation from secular people. Growing up very confused. Vomit
Hehe, thanks a bunch. It's actually what I spend the majority of time on with my vids - and it can be a drag sometimes. :)
That Jesus knock knock pic made me laugh hard the first time I saw it, but I never quite felt it was appropriate to use till now.
I'm actually trying to avoid being too offensive and blasphemous in my vids, since I'm actually trying to reach some of the theist, not just make fun of them.
I really should start a video index for commenting. All I should do is link a certain video to every bloodye same old argument creationist/theist make. This one would be one it: Arugment from 'I'm completely stuck, please help me God! No? Oh, I'll go this way then'. Great. Short & to the point. 5*
LOL! It was an amazing video. Actually, I did get comments like that in the most recent debate that I got into (on facebook), with a couple of Muslims. They threw stuff like, "I can just wish and hope that u may have a broad mind one day." LOL! I was like... what the heck!?! lol!
Oh flying spag bol monster, please wrap this heathen gnug in your noodly embrace and show him the truth, that he was never a real pastafarian, but can enjoy the nutritional benefits of a yummy scrummy lasagne if he would only turn back to bread and water based noms.
LMAO. Given that all the other athestistic comments on this video have been ignored and my own has been given a thumbs down I can only conclude that someone's irony meter is broken, or else they only read the first line.
Since I suspect the latter, what does it say about your line of reasoning (whoever you are) that you can't even be bothered to read the other sides argument (which in this case was not an argument for the other side at all).
Hahaha, I get that "You never really were a Christian" line pretty often. I had someone recently ask me by what "standard" did I call myself a christian.
I am not sure. I was asked a bunch of questions via PM, so I made a video as a response. I politely answered each question honestly. When I came to that question I asked them what did they mean by that, is any christian better than another? Unfortunately, they did not answer this for me.

In my experience, the final argument usually takes the form of "Why won't you just admit it!?" or "Can't you see how obvious [my position] is!?".
Quite interesting stuff, in psychological terms. And rather sad if you can hazard a guess as to what it exposes.
