I like how people say "Oh this and that dubstep artist sold out" for the most part, even if they have a record deal, they still don't have alot of money. Look at Skrillex. He even played in another band and lives in a one bedroom appt. These guys don't make millions from dubstep. "Selling out" for them means not having to work another job to support themselves.

@MrRobsterr Dubstep comes from Dub music which has been en extension of reggae since the 1960s thanks to artists such as King Tubby who took reggae songs and "overdubbed" his own bass and drums. Therefore dubstep has all of its roots in reggae. I don't have an issue with artists going mainstream until ignorant listeners are so obsessed with the image of an artist or genre that they neglect where it came from. Without reggae there would be no pop "dubstep" for all you fratboys and ravers.

The only thing I have a beef with is when an artist waters down, alters their music to make it more marketable to the masses. It's a tough call, some people may say that its just a natural progression of their taste in music, but when you sign to a major label and some dude in a suit is telling you how to make your music - you kinda sold out. Its not really the artist's fault - like people have said they need a paycheck, its the industry that twists and degrades artistic creativity and integrity

Sorry, Rusko did sell out. This is mediocre in its music and production aspects, all the song is is a repetitive, very basic ragga beat with disgustingly autotuned vocals and overused sound effects in the background.
