@SanDoggy10 If you are a faithful member of the church, you pay 10% of your income to tithing (which is used for the purposes you mentioned, without a dime going into church leaders' pockets) as well as helping those in need around you as much as you can. Who says you can't be wealthy and help others at the same time?

@delanogaston You try being a missionary. They aren't paid. In fact, they pay (or their families or others) $10,000 to do what they do for two years. And the leaders of the church aren't paid either.
