Is it me or the very young and inexperienced Joss Stone (don't get me wrong, with the right socg fabulous) cannot compete with the voice that is Melissa Etheridge (even with illness). She has the most spectacular soul voice of the last two to decades!

@BiiGTuBZ They were not competing. They are too different singers. Their voices complemented each other very well. Melissa's voice was edgy and raw whereas Joss's was smooth and sweet.

I wouldn't have changed a thing. Loved them both.

Joss Stone has a great voice, but the soul in it is too artificial... don't know how better to explain it better, but it's just not as lived through as Janis' or Melissa's voice.

When I had to do chemo in 2000, I also had my hair cut into a choppy shag (so hair falling out wouldn't show so much), before it started falling out. So Etheridge was truly brave to shave her head & face the cancer with defiance. Thanks for the response.
