I need to play this game again. I live in a student block with 8 other people on my floor, so I really appreciate the sense of space and peace you get when you're 'transported' into the world of Myst.
@superdame1996 I would like to help you, but I'm not sure which light you mean and at what part of the video. Do you mean the light bulbs on the chair?
@superdame1996 The spider chair puzzle is fairly complex. Among other things, it requires one to restore power to the chair as well as move gears etc. That being said, because it is a difficult puzzle and because I'm not exactly sure what steps you took to solve it prior to sitting in the spider chair and because I'm still puzzled myself what you meant by "in the upper right corner is still in move", I think the best thing to do is either re-watch my walkthrough videos or look up a guide online.
@superdame1996 Parts 7a-11b in my Myst IV Walkthrough , covers all of Spire. On the other hand, if you're looking for a great text walkthrough with pictures I would suggest searching Google for the text "myst iv walkthrough". At the top of the list, should be a website called gameboomers. From there, click on the Spire walkthrough link. It's very helpful, and filled with lots of good information. If there is anything else, I can do to help in regards to Myst IV, please let me know.
YES i finally got the sliders in time! it felt like such an accomplishment after trying a bunch haha. I didnt bother looking for all the notes. Too many scattered around. Maybe I would have figured out the combinations myself if they were all in one book
I miss playing this game. It was my favorite before I got a new computer... my Mac Book Pro is running on Mac OS X: Version 10.6.3 and from what I read, Revelation only runs on Version 10.5 or lower... or something like that. I'm not really technically minded, so I don't know if that's true or not. If anybody can tell me a way to play Myst IV on my Mac Book Pro, I'd be eternally grateful! Thanks in advance!!
i was helping my dad do the part at the end where u move the crystal and its so hard cause it'll just stop working when it wants to and we cant do it even when u do whats done here exactly. i guess we need to work fast
Sorry, that it's giving you some trouble. But I do have a few tips, if this helps any. As you know, the solution is in the video description.
But what I didn't add, is how I quickly moved everything around. For one, it takes some practice. But mainly, I did a bit of math on this one - adding & subtracting, and counting the lights that turn on or off.
I wrote down on a piece of paper on my desk, not only the numbers in the descriptions but the difference between them. For example 6-3=3
This told me, that for the first set (the left slider) would be at the 6 position / notch. For the second set of numbers, I would drop the left slider down 3 positions.
If you know the difference between the two numbers, it's a lot easier because you don't waste as much time sliding it back to the beginning. And yes, I know looking at the slider notches to know what position it is in is tricky. However, it's a ton easier when you look at the lights and count them as they light up or off.
Forgot to add, that as you move each slider up you consume more power and the lights turn off. When you slide it down, you decrease power and the lights turn back on.
If you're moving a slider up 12 or down 9, counting the bulbs may not be as good of an idea. But it does help when it's around 1-6. Mainly, I would just recommend keeping track of the difference between the numbers and counting bulbs only as needed.
omg this has helped me alot i havent been able to beat this since 2006 i gave up on it i was stuck and i was close to beating it . but i was missing a few things that u helped me alot with thanks
