  • I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH!

  • yea OIMN094 but there are good dive stories and vids on the net too.. try the myscubastory website. type myscubastory into google and its the first one. enjoy

  • Where exactly is this, I'm going there this summer, July to be precise and I always dreamed of Sea scuba diving and I need to be there !! where is it please ?!

  • hi can i catch some of those fish and put them into my salt water tank and is it possibal to to get the coral to?

  • @vijomyda Not only is it actually illegal in Florida to collect coral from the reefs, but it is a lot harder than you think to keep that coral alive for more than a week or so in an aquarium. Coral is extremely high maintenance. The water in your aquarium has to be, like, totally perfect if you want to grow coral and keep it alive for a very long time. The portions of salt, water, phytoplankton, and not to mention the lighting, all have to be kept at the exact right amounts at all times.

  • @vijomyda If the portions of salt, water, plankton, and the level of lighting are not kept at precisely the right levels, the coral will die. And not to mention too, the water needs to be kept circulating at *all* times. The circulation ensures that the coral is properly fed it's meals of phytoplankton and that it's wastes are carried away. Without water circulation, the coral would starve and build up a lot of waste, which will result in the death of the coral.

  • I got to tell you I was out there yesterday and today and the water is really really clear, great visibility but it's cold. All this damn Canadian air so early in the season has really cooled the water off quick and if you're planning to visit the Florida Key this winter season 2010 - 2011 be sure to bring a thick wetsuit and a hoodie, you'll need it.

  • This makes me realize just how much I love the Florida Keys!

  • what charter did you use? i wanna go scuba diving and really want to dive near the reefs

  • I started a donation fund today to help save Coral Reefs, and if anyone is interested in donating to it you can send money, via paypal, to WeLoveCoral@yahoo.com

  • my teacher knows a guy who is a geologist and he checks volcanic ash temperatures all over the world, they say that the different volcanic ash temperatures can show the effects of global warming, he told my teacher that the volcanic soil temperature is the same ALL OVER THE WORLD! global warming is not real.

  • Yes it's illegal to harm coral in any way. You can't even take dead coral that's laying on the ocean floor.

  • Thats good. Laws to protect the remaining coral from dumb asses who like how pretty it is.

  • omg the reef looks amazing id love to go scuba divin there

  • There's lots of beautiful places that are beautiful under the waters of the Florida Keys. Come on down and discover them for yourself. It's a beautiful world underwater, but not in the winter, toooo cold for me.

  • Co2 is good for Plants! LOL also Global Warming is BS for making new TAXES.

  • great vid. suprised by some of the comments here, I thought it was common knowlege that the "global warming crisis" is (was) a farce just as the "global cooling crisis" was when I was a kid.

  • @nef533 Hah! I remember all that global coolling jazz! The libs and the media are always peddling some crisis or another!

  • Global warning is one of those things that you and I can't prove or disprove and by the time it's figured out it will be too late.

  • pffft

  • If the little air thingy things is a hookah you're in for a treat.

  • RELAXING like a chant.

  • Thanks for posting this video footage ofFlorida Keys reef diving. You've gotten some very beautiful scenes here. I used to scuba and snorkel dive the Pennekamp reef back in the early 1970s. It might have been more spectacular then (I suspect it was... probably more living coral covering the bottom), but this is still very good and certainly worth seeing. Very encouraging, indeed. I thought the coral would be in much worse shape. Thanks again.

  • not as full as they use to be

  • john pennicamp state park has any body been there is it good

  • love it!

  • Coral Reefs are destroyed being by Sunscreen chemicals, NOT global warming. Check google for research articles and tell your friends!

  • Coral reefs are being destroyed by a lot of things including global warming and chemicals in lotions overall and people touching corals when they dive and the biggest threats are trawling, cyanide fishing and industrial runoff.

  • Here's something very interesting I saw first hand at Mote Marine Lab's here on Summerland Key. They are growing new coral. They take coral from where ships run aground and break it off for the regrowth. They constantly handle it. They cut it into thin horizontal pieces with a tile saw. They then use aquarium underwater puddy and stick it onto a rock or concrete or a bottle or whatever. The coral grows from the piece. So all this fluff about not touching the coral is just fluff.

  • Corals grow extremely slow and the water quality in the oceans are becoming poor so it's hard for a small bud of coral to take hold. Yes, many coral propagate very easy. Especially soft coral. Cut 'em up into pieces and the pieces that heal will grow into individuals, but they need to heal and then grow. Those who handle coral professionally generally use a special slime coating on their hands or on the coral to protect the coral's flesh from the acids on our hands. DIVERS DON"T DO THIS!!

  • all u global warming freaks, get a life

  • coolio!

  • awsome.
