The point you are trying to make is a very serious one and it would have a far greater impact were it not conveyed so badly, and had the depiction of Islanders not been so generalising. My real name is Linda Corby. As someone who has watched the whole film I would like to say that it doesnt depict everyone on Jersey as a child abuser.
I live in Jersey and went and looked at the purvey statues in person, they are indeed very disturbing to anyone who isnt a paedophile and I am amazed that nothing was done about them. I must have passed them on the road without really seeing them for what they where untold times, and I feel that it is awful that it took someone from outside the island to actually notice them and highlight how revoltingly sick they are.

Having not seen the entire film I can only comment on the content of the trailer. What relevance does the statue of the devil have to the child abuse investigation? Is the director suggesting that Satanism is to blame for the abuse? For those who don't know, the statue is at a site called Devil's Hole on the North coast where the sea water rises through a natural hole in the cliff.
The Police under Lenny Harper (now retired) and Graham Power (now suspended for reasons the states refuse to make public) were most professional in their investigation, however they suffered daily political intervention into their enquiries, which has continued i.e. as soon as Harper retired, the new police officers in charge 'ripped up' all of the evidence so far!

I cannot believe the number of people on here that just miss the point of the film entirely. Watching the whole film makes a lot more sense, it took an outsider to see the revolting statues for what they are. I live in Jersey and must have passed them more times than I can count over the last five years, but had to go and look at them for myself after seeing them on the film, and sometimes it takes outside eyes to notice such things!

I live in Jersey and went and looked at the purvey statues in person, they are indeed very disturbing to anyone who isnt a paedophile and I am amazed that nothing was done about them. I'm not going to watch the whole film because it costs money and because I can tell from the trailer that it's extremely likely to be a load of rubbish, fabrication, assumption and sensationalistic journalism. Unless your film is entirely different to your trailer then you have no chance of being taken seriously by the few who are going to actually watch it. If you really thought what you were doing was so important you'd have made the film free to view anyway you money-grabbing liar.

Having not seen the entire film I can only comment on the content of the trailer. What relevance does the statue of the devil have to the child abuse investigation? Is the director suggesting that Satanism is to blame for the abuse? For those who don't know, the statue is at a site called Devil's Hole on the North coast where the sea water rises through a natural hole in the cliff.

The Police under Lenny Harper (now retired) and Graham Power (now suspended for reasons the states refuse to make public) were most professional in their investigation, however they suffered daily political intervention into their enquiries, which has continued i.e. as soon as Harper retired, the new police officers in charge 'ripped up' all of the evidence so far!
