Watching this tale of Tom,I was swept back to a time many years ago,in Spain when during at a Tom concert,I threw my knickers at him and he,in turn slung his underpants at me,I found this gesture juvenile and went off Tom right away.On returning to our appartment,my husband and I enjoyed smashing all his records
the clip was taken from a program called (sex drugs and rock and roll, the 60s revelled)i taped this on video cassett and still have it.its about bernerd braydon interviewing tom jones, ciller black, lue lue, sandy shaw and lots more stars of the 60s.he wanted to interview them then and he wanted to interview them now but it never happened.hope this helps.i love eny thing about the 60s
All the interviews I have uploaded took place in 1967 and it's a shame that Bernard Braden did not follow up his interviews, as intended. You say that you like anything about the sixties - I have always lived near Chelsea and can remember when Kings Road was swinging!
Nice to hear that after all these years of livin' out in the U.S., Tom still has his Welsh accent, and that he ain't gone all American on us- the bloke's a true bloody Rock 'n' Roll legend! :)
Gorgeous, talented singer! It's Not Unusual was first offered to Sandie Shaw, but she rejected it. That's probably the ONLY good thing Sandie ever did, 'caused that song paved the way for TOM JONES!
Thanks for your comment, Henrik. Tom Jones is a fabulous singer, it's amazing to think that he will be 70 years old next year! Don't knock Sandie Shaw, at least she won Eurovision for us in 1967!
Graham - I used to LOVE Sandie Shaw - for various reasons, all connected directly with HER and the people running her homepage, I have regretfully grown to dislike the person behind the good looks. She cannot cope with criticism AT ALL, but openly herself critisice everything she dislikes. I cannot respect that. AND: She hates her ESC-winner! ..so "that's why"! :-)
Thanks for your reply Henrik and I understand your point of view. In my opinion, Sandie Shaw has mellowed in recent years, she even admits that Eurovision helped boost her faltering music career.
Dear Graham - I only wish I could connect better with your point of view - I am one who has been banned from her homepage for having had the "audacity" of asking questions, HRH did not approve of - she and her HP is NOT a nice and openminded community, I am terribly sorry to say.. Thanks for commenting, Graham!
¡¡¡GRACIAS publish 2 interviews is amazing to see the tiger in its early Welsh was so sexy and now so successful in 2009 and in force, his voice was incomparable, his new CD is expectaular. I feel great admiration for the small BIG SIR TOM JONES. (sorry I do not know the English very well helped me with the translator) GRACIAS ¡¡¡¡
!!!GRACIAS!!!!
Fascinating interview. Really great to see the comparison between then and now. I think Tom is a great guy. Still very down to earth and self effacing even after 40 odd years of stardom. Nice one!

Sadly, Talia, I cannot remember the title of the one-off programme, which was broadcast on Channel 5 earlier this year.

his accent was more posh back then

In the past, many personalities in the public eye put on a "posh voice" in order to impress. Nowadays, we don't worry about it!

Thanks for your kind words. I was surprised when I heard that the original (1967) interview was never shown on television, until now.
