Exile is an ok album and this is her best song but it's only slightly better than s/t I'm like Goldie Locks, Guyville's too underproduced while s/t is maybe a tad overproduced. Whitechocolatespaceegg is perfect. How could you not like Baby Got Going, Uncle Alvarez, What Makes You Happy, Big Tall Man, Perfect World, Girl's Room, Go On Ahead, Johnny Feelgood and Polyester Bride? Because of the way they were produced? That's such a snobby hipster thing to say. Some of the best songs of her career.

Live performance wasn't really her strong suit. She had some very fine songs, such as this one, and she wrote good lyrics. She managed to make herself seem important to a lot of people, but she never came close to making another album as good as Exile.

In spite of her stage fright she managed to tour and support her debut pretty effectively. It wasn't obvious to those of us who showed up to see her. And as someone who fights stage fright once or twice a week, this video documents a capable, confident performer who manages to engage and thrill her audience. Hats off and pants off to Liz Phair.
