  • Can't just use a regular cable and an adapter into the iphone?

  • Some Guthrie in the intro :)

  • @nenamia7 correct

  • I opted for the 490 ST which is a true strobe tuner with the mechanical wheel. It was also over a grand. Buzz Feiten won't allow me to do acoustic guitars without it. I love it. The digital ones just do not react as fast and hone in on "wolf tones". For electric guitars the strobosoft is great. Some of the instruments I work on cost as much as a single family home, so the 490 was a no brainer.

  • I'm sure the Peterson is fine, but the Pano Tuner for $0.99 is my favorite. It needs no external hardware and works "without thinking" for acoustic or amp'ed instruments. It correlates very well with various tuners I have tested with, and easily allows me to e.g. tune to low C string on my ouds (65 Hz) or the low B on 5 string basses. By autodetecting quickly it can be used to help practice intonation on fretless instruments.

  • @FernandRaynaud The iStrobosoft doesn't need the external hardware that just makes it more accurate.

  • Thanks for the info. Great review.

  • Helpful review. Thanks!

  • Where can you buy that cable?

  • Check out Peterson's website, they sent it to me directly.

  • yes I contacted them and I think you are right--I'm going to take the iPhone to Apple and I'll remove the comment.

  • I bought the cable and tried it with 4 different guitars and 2 different cables and it would not work.

  • Thats strange have you contacted iStrobosoft? I wonder if there is a problem with your iPhone input?
