  • I would like one premo shape.Anybody got one for sale?Need it shipped into Ontario Canada

  • those trucks are badass. a buddy of mine just got one but his is all red cause after the millitary used it, a local fire department bought it and used it. but its a great truck

  • what color green is that on the front clip and cab ?

  • I gotta say this thing has one mean sounding exhaust on it!!! sounds like it wants to "do battle with something" lol :)

  • how much was paid for this truck?. if u dont mind me asking.

  • It's gotta say somethin that they used chevy instead of ford.

  • chevy m1008 is pretty pathetic on the rough terrain .....even in muddy road it has problems gettin movin

  • What is the top speed on one of these?

  • @oakley175 slow, they are geared with 4.88 locked rear and ~32 in tires so they can tow a lot but not very fast compared to modern standards

  • I just bought one of these for $500 bucks wanders all over the road does anyone have any ideas what could cause it to pull left then suddenly pull right? i HAVE ALREADY replaced the steering box and doing the same thing thought maybe could be leaf springs but if it is that i will just put a lift on it any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • @fj60driver Try your tie rod bushingsA

  • @fj60driver Same thing happened to my K10. Tie rod bushings, ball joints, and the roll bar. Could be any of them. Most likely the rod bushings and ball joints though.

  • where can you buy one of these

  • check out 1:50....LOVE the t case shifter handle!!!

  • did i see that right does this truck have two alternators?

  • @jgwentworth1500 Yes. It is a 12/24V electrical system and has one alt that runs at 12v and one that runs at 24v. The 2nd one is in place of an a/c compressor.

  • @motormayhemthevideos The armory outside my town has 5 of these beasts they drive them through my town on their way to do their combat exercises or when they are transporting equipment to another armory. I have wanted one since i was 12 but i had never seen under the hood of one before

  • if was to get a chevy i would get a military model love the blazers

  • @wakenbake005 The CUCV Blazers are 3/4 ton trucks and the pickups are 1 1/4 ton or 5/4 ton trucks

  • WILL THEY GO 70 MPH.

  • @mccrackenphillip the military does not "fix the speed" on these trucks. They do have 4.56 gears tho, so 70 will be pushing it unless you put some larger tires on (around 35-36 inch should put you around normal speeds)

  • @crossfireracerx thanks man.

    looking to buy one.

  • @mccrackenphillip The truck ones have 4.56 gears and none of the cucv's have overdrive so 70 is running that motor extreemly fast and it wont last long. 70 is fine for the blazer with 3.08's but 55 is what the trucks cruise at.

  • DOES THE MILITARY FIX THE SPEED ON THEM

  • @mccrackenphillip

    what exactly do you mean??

  • hey the 550 serries light on the front do u like they way they are? are they real bright?

  • How rough is the cold start on these things? I heard the 6.2 is a nightmare but the low price is really appealing.

  • Same here...What kind of maintenance do these things require? Im looking for a beater work truck that'll just get up and go without a problem.

Is power an issue with these engines?

  • they just don't make them like they used to

  • hey your in pa what city

  • York

  • Where can i get 1?

  • If I were to go into the military, what branch would I have to go in to drive one of these trucks?

  • Most of these are out of service now. However, just watching the video should get you that answer. It has both Army, and National Guard markings on it, but it was built for all the armed forces. The HMMWV (Humvee) has taken over since the mid to late 90s. These are getting more and more rare, but you may still see some on stateside military bases.

  • HOw much do these cost? I want one....

  • I just sold the one you see here for $3,200. Mine wasn't perfect though. I've seen restored go for up to $6,000.

  • why is it every cucv i see has 30 something thousand on it. my 85 blazer had 36000 on it when i got it, and just picked up a 85 k30 too with 37xxx on it. unfortunately it was owned by a fire dept so its painted red

any idea what that plug is for that is on the passenger side behind the grill. mine has that too.

  • It's a military jump start plug. It's a quick connect to jump start dead military vehicles. (So in other words, don't lick your finger, and stick it in the hole. lol)

  • thats what she said

  • Do you like your Hella 550's? cool truck

  • i have the same truck too a tttttttttttttttttttt..and it's got 50,000 miles on it..

  • N/A Diesels are wicked sounding with open exhaust. I've run a 6.2 with 2.0" duals (no crossovers) and it sounds like two high compression V-Twin motorcycles chained together. That thing was louder than a Pontiac smallblock 400 that I also ran open!

You should take an inside and outside accleration video!

  • Mine has true dual, no crossovers, 3 inch straight pipes, manifolds back. I think the side exit helps with the noise level a lot.

  • Dont the crossovers help with widening the powerband?

I noticed u have no trunking to the airbox; often this is useful to get cold air in if u route it to ...er...cold air!

  • It makes a little difference, yes. I have bigger plans for this truck than just trying to get another 5 HP from this sluggish 6.2 diesel with the trunking. I'm thinkin a 12 Valve Cummins will do the trick...

  • nice truck my truck does that it puches smoke like that wen its under load and give it alot of gas

  • Yah, from what I've seen elsewhere, that's normal..
