As a hair metal fanatic, I can proudly say that I've always loved this song. When you think about it, there's not much difference between this song and a hair metal ballad.

I think somehow it's meaningless to argue, like many people do, that which girl is more talented or not, as sometimes potential or talent is not really that important to make someone become a superstar or even an icon. Yea these girl may not be the most talented singers, but you may admit that they really have some kind of power to attract your eyes and make you like them. It's 15 years from their debut of Wannabe, but they are STILL the best and greatest girls group ever in the world.
As a guy I should hate the Spice Girls, so much for that though. I love this song, always have even though it was without Geri. Who remembers how much "Girl Power" was being shouted out by every girl when this band was at it's height? :)
The concept I got from this video was that when geri left they felt like everything had frozen and their career was dead but then they sing "so glad we made it" and that's why the ice unfreezes. They knew they would get there with this song.

Their best song. Ive just listened to this song on an Ipod. The harmonies are amazing. They would give groups like En vogue, Destiny's Child and many other girl groups known for their vocal talents are good run for their money. When this song first got released, I couldn't beleive it was The Spice Girls having not been much of a fan. It was almost to good to be them. The talent was always there, it just needed a certain ballad like this one to bring it out. Excellent!

@Vlowman I agree. When the Spice Girls were going to break up, it was Victoria who tried her hardest to keep them together. She was always the weak link in the group and got the least singing lines, as in this song. She was vertualy a back up singer and eye candy. Her poor solo career has proved that she needed the others more than they needed her (and she knew that) Everyone could see from way back that Mel C had the most potential as a solo performer, and they were right.
You talk shite, if not for Geri its unlikely the group would have even got a record deal she was the driving force and voice that helped make things happen for them in the early days. So kindly shut the fuck up ok

I can't help but agree with smck2009 and say she did help them get where they are now. The chemistry amongst that group wasn't just Geri... All of them had their issues. Otherwise even with her gone or even if they had replaced her or whatever, they'd still be together since all of that happened and not just popping out of no where several years later

@007MrMagoo I didn't say she hasn't got an accent. Everyone has an accent. I'm saying that she doesn't have a Cockney accent because she's from Liverpool, not London. It's only Londoners who have Cockney accents. If you've ever heard Mel C talk, you'll hear she speaks in a Liverpool accent.

Their best song. Ive just listened to this song on an Ipod. The harmonies are amazing. They would give groups like En vogue, Destiny's Child and many other girl groups known for their vocal talents are good run for their money. When this song first got released, I couldn't beleive it was The Spice Girls having not been much of a fan. It was almost to good to be them. The talent was always there, it just needed a certain ballad like this one to bring it out. Excellent!

@Vlowman I agree. When the Spice Girls were going to break up, it was Victoria who tried her hardest to keep them together. She was always the weak link in the group and got the least singing lines, as in this song. She was vertualy a back up singer and eye candy. Her poor solo career has proved that she needed the others more than they needed her (and she knew that) Everyone could see from way back that Mel C had the most potential as a solo performer, and they were right.

@thesarcastic100 I personally think they needed Geri. Once she left they pretty much fell apart and vanished not too long after. I can't help but agree with smck2009 and say she did help them get where they are now. The chemistry amongst that group wasn't just Geri... All of them had their issues. Otherwise even with her gone or even if they had replaced her or whatever, they'd still be together since all of that happened and not just popping out of no where several years later
