The blacked out SUVs around the president actually contain agents of the Secret Service Counter Assualt Team. Their job is to overwhelm and attackers with automatic firepower thus allowing the principle protectee to be removed from the scene by their Secret Service protection detail. Once the protectee is removed a local SWAT team takes over and cleans up as most likley CAT has moved on to catch up with the protectee or has been wiped out. I can't imagine these miniguns being usable.

This is not in the presidential motorcade. The person who uploaded this is assuming black SUVs with lights automatically implies the U.S.S.S. The S.S. is a much more disciplined outfit than the pray-and-spray tactics implied in this video. If you pay attention to real motorcades, you will see an agent with an SMG or assault rifle in the back window looking out, not a minigun. Besides, this would be very dangerous in an urban environment. These guys are accountable for every bullet.

Interesting how some posters claim that the President may or may not have one of these in his motorcade at any given time. What you should consider is that the Secret Service probably has access to any weapon system they deem necessary to protect the President in a given scenario. If they felt like they needed an Abrams tank in the motorcade, they would get one without a problem.

I understand the need to protect your President, but oh how so typically American. What you do on your own territory is strictly your own business although I have reservations on these things being allowed onto foreign soil. Depends on what he's being protected from. If he were in a foreign country and a group of hostiles begin to shoot at the motorcade from a building, or charge it with a car bomb, or fire at from a helicopter, that gun will end the situation REAL quick. It's unlikely, but possible, given the terrorist threat (and don't think they'd reign it in because Bush is gone.) Best to be prepared, even if it is never used.
