The ballerina in the role of Giselle is beautiful, her arms are beyond any possible description, but she is not in the spirit of the romantic style. The arms should form an inside arch and the torso always incline forward, the shoulders down always, the left hand always below. It would be a wonderful interpretation for Les Sylphides but definitely not in Giselle. Probably bad coaching.
one cant judge all giselle by the cuban giselle ( whom anyone who knows anything would agree its best best in terms of style) however these modern ballerinas seem to wanna invigorate things rather then follow tradition in some cases it works in some it does not vishneva seems to pull it off and gets away with allot
@ElFrancotirador100 The ballets of the classical repertoire are museum pieces. They allows us to learn about other epochs, other people, other aesthetics . If you alter a master piece (let’s say that somebody changed the background of La Giaconda for an ocean view instead), the fair perception of the artist's virtuosity would no longer be manifested by this work. If you remove the towers of Notre-Dame and built domes instead, no remaining of the Gothic style would be seen under the scars.

Is good for Marinsky to invite other nationality ballet stars. Russian audiences see other temperaments, style and soul.
