  • thanxz, this really helped... im only 11 so i had no idea how to do this so thanxz ^^

  • where's the second part I can only see the first and third

  • @bluebowmn in the description there's a link

  • How do you make the jaw move? Do you attach the elastic on the jaw or just having it snug against your chin?

  • @1419811O91zzj it's snug against my jaw.

  • what sort of foam do you use?

  • @wedrawmanga97 upholestry (high density). It's squishy and soft, perfect for shaping and not easy to break if you happen to bump into someone.

  • @amychaogirl ok thanks :)

  • were did u get ur plastic canvas

  • @bloodytails777 any craft store that sells needle work stuff

  • Where do you buy your foam?

  • @wings0fdeath joann fabrics.

  • im doing exactly the same thing and i really wanted to thank you for making this video i only have the plastic canvis done but when i get the foaming done how do i foam the bottom jaw and how do i make room for follow me eyes

  • @kyaeragon17 for the bottom jaw, glue a piece of foam in between the plastic canvas for the bottom jaw. make sure it's in the same shape that you made the canvas though. After that, I usually add a bit more foam to the bottom of the jaw and to the sides. A very big thing to keep in mind is to not make the bottom jaw big. I've seen a lot of fursuits with this issue. Try to keep the jaw a bit smaller than the top jaw. there is a follow me eyes tutorial in the related videos

  • Will regular Styrofoam work I'm planning on making something else and fiberglassing it?

  • @jokeboxproductions i don't know how well that would work. If the styrofoam is just a base and it's not actually going to be in the finished head, then it would probably be fine. If you mean to use it in the head, then no. I would not suggest it because it's expensive ($14 for one of those styrofoam balls alone!) and isn't easy to sculpt.

  • What about the eyes how do you set the eyes and carve out the spot for them?

  • @AlexisPrimrose when building up the foam, I put the bridge of the nose in and then the cheeks, from there a spot for them is just sort of there. Another trick is to after finishing the mesh, make two pieces that make the shape of the eyes and glue them in place. then you build up the rest of the foam around and on top of those pieces.

  • OHMIGOD IT'S OKAMI!!! x3 lol but anywho, =P this helps a lot

  • looks like that wolf from okami

  • Sean: Tolololololooo

  • I still draw my "V" birds D:

  • @amberleegrills this was 1 inch, but you can have whatever thickness, just know you'll have to cut it if it's thicker than one inch

  • What kind of foam is that?

  • @TheEmoKimiko high density (upholstery) foam.

  • thumbs up if you thought that it was your chat

  • im 15 and atempting to make my own head, its alot harder then people make it seem ^-^ at first my idea was, "oh all i have to do is have right measurements scissors certain stuff from stores, hot glue and im golden" now im all like, "does this fit right?!?! is it supposed to be this long?!?!? am i missing something?!?" but its all fun :) im currently am in my foaming stage, havnt started yet >.< to scared itl mess up and ill have to start over :P

  • @MegaPoly85 easiest way to start foaming is to jump right into it ;) start with the muzzle and work back wards towards the back of the head. also, remember that is you make something too short, or if you mess up a bit, foam is forgiving and you can just add to it and retry C:

  • Im 14 and I am really anxious to make one of these.

  • @BlinxSparkSlyFox i'm 12 and i am anxious to make my third ^~^

  • what if i used softer foam? is that a bad idea?

  • @JoshyDinobear the foam i used is soft a squishy. So you shouldn't have a problem

  • @amychaogirl but yours looks sooo much more still then mine, :l i think lol i will have a video anyway,

  • @JoshyDinobear yeah, it always does, but trust me, it's really really squishy lol. like one of those egg crate mattresses you get for college dorms

  • what is the foam called (what type of foam is it?

  • @loverdt13 upholestry foam

  • This video helped me so much Amychaogirl!!! Thanks!!

  • ....... when i herd that Facebook sound... I paused the video and checked my facebook!! LOL!!! XD

  • @P3ngu1nFaN10 XD lol

  • @amychaogirl I think I was in my not thinking mode XD

and do you know if they have that foam at Lows? I'd have to go to the next city over, but to make a fursuit i am saying its worth it XD i really wanna make one lol

  • @P3ngu1nFaN10 I bet they do, but you can get the foam i used at JoAnn's fabrics and Mendell's

  • @amychaogirl O:

and i dont know a JoAnn's Fabrics and Mendell's near me xDD

I'll look at Lows :3 xD

  • subbed! cuz im making a suit end of this week!!

  • @TheBenjaminBlogs thank you ^^

  • how do you glue it on and what do you use?

  • @wolvesrockILOVEWOLF hot glue gun, pretty self explanatory XD

  • do you own the pattern for this fursuit head?

  • Thanks :)

  • Oooook? What kind of foam did you use?

  • @HUNTERtheW0LF it's high density foam, or upholestry foam also.

  • good job! I was expecting that foaming would be hard... Thanks for the info!

  • I like the camera you used in this video! what kind is it?

  • Your friend is a douche lmao.

Anyway, would the weight of the foam have much effect on the jaw movement, or do you just tighten the bolts to control the sturdiness? Also, how would you go about making the jaw clamp shut again? Is there some special technique for inserting a spring, or isn't it required?

  • @AylatheRaichu nope, the foam is very very light. the spring is to make the jaw clamp shut because it's like a rubber band that doesn't lose shape. when you stretch it it goes back to its normal size when you let go. there isn't a specific technique, but the easiest way is to take wire and rap it around the ring on the spring and attaching the wire to the head. and no, a spring isn't required.

  • Thanks alot for the video, I've been stuck on my fursuit plastic canvas head for a long time... I've redone the jaw 5 times... oh god xD

Well, I saw this and thought that It should be smarter to make the foam work before making the jaw movement. So thanks alot :)

  • when r u gonna make part 4? im need help with the furring a stuff

  • @Mewmewsia2 soon :) don't worry, i just ran into issues when trying to make it last time

  • I can't find part 2 on ur channel

  • @Bucklover4 it's the one with plastic canvas. it should be there

  • @amychaogirl i found it thx

  • What type of foam do you use? And where could I get it?

  • @KingSimba365 it's high density foam, or upholestry foam. you can get it at walmart, joanns, mendels. those are the places i know of but there's probably a lot more

  • Where did you get the glass eyes?

  • @cometstorm2121 they're resin, not glass. and i made them. you can get resin at AC Moore and i think at Michaels. all you do is mix the two parts together, then pour it into a mold and let it cure for about 24 hours

  • Where did you get the glass eyes?

  • have any ideas on where i could get the plastic canvis mesh stuff?

  • @funnykittenz1 you can get it at any arts and crafts store (like ac moore) and i know jo ann's has it. it should be in the crocet and knitting area

  • i used the hard type of foam on my ears :3

  • Wow you're so good at this O.O

  • @RapidRiver22 thanks :)

  • awesome tutorial! just one quick question, what type of foam is that? i checked walmart and they only have like floppy foam D:

  • @predatorguy07 thanks ^^ well, it's supposed to be floppy, not stiff like wood lol, and it's called high density foam or upholstery foam. i get mine at jo'ann's fabrics but i know you can also get it at Mendel's fabrics as well

  • @amychaogirl awesome! thanks soo much :DD!

  • 5:33 lol :D
