I used to have copies of all the books somewhere. I used to teach in lots of village primary schools as a support teacher and used to adapt BBC software to support these programmes. All the Look and Read series were so supportive for those children in what is now key stage 2, who were not yet reading.

I remember watching the Kings Dragon back in 1977 Look & Read in the days before primary schools had videos - we all used to pile into the hall and watch it on the TV on the stage.. then go back and do the bookwork.. it's a pity it's not on here, but guess few schools recorded it.

I also vaguely remeber Look & Read - Cloudburst and the one with a Canal Barge and the peregrine falcon- which I gather is Geordie Racer. if my laptop had more RAM I might get round to watching Geordie racer again.

yeah i remember watching this badger girl thing at school aswell although cant remember what happens in the end i think i missed a few episodes lol still it was pretty good & fun to watch brings back some memorys also watched goerdie racer aswell , think kevin wheatly was in that?? although i thought badger grl was better. shame there isnt a few more episodes around to watch.

I sort of remember watching this at school back in the 80's when it was first shown but i never realised who the woman who played Jane in the programme was until a few years later when i saw her in a tv advert and then in the tv series Doctor Finlay where she played the district nurse. Her name is Margo Gunn and she has also been in a number of prgrammes including Taggart and Dalziel and Pascoe.

i've never seen old l&r stories from the 80s before but thanks to cbbc channel (2006) I Managed to see the King's Dragon, The Boy From Space, Badger Girl, Sky Hunter & my fave Joe & the sheep rustlers!

I know that there are more Badger Girl episodes on the old videos somewhere, but I live on a different continent now and I'm waiting for my parents to send over another batch of rescued videos. When they arrive, I'll certainly work to get them up as well!

I remember seeing this at Junior School on Friday mornings during its autumn term 1986 run (my year were the last to get Dark Towers and the first to get Geordie Racer!) We also had the photocopied work sheets as well...

The man at the beginning of the clip who says "the story so far", has a familiar voice, as he seemed be the voiceover of so many 1970s and 1980s TV adverts, only to be rivaled by Michael Jayston. Every advert break I play on here seem to have at least one voiced by him.

Does anyone remember the Look and Read series called Fairground? I was recently looking at the IMDB page for it and noticed that the character called Sherry, played by someone called Rosie, went on to star in porn 20 years later.

It was about 20 years ago when I went there so my memory is a bit hazey. The place is probably called something obvious like 'The Badger Sanctuary'. The place that we stayed at which was close to the sanctuary was called 'Pixies Holt' and I also remember visitiing another place nearby to that called 'Badgers Holt'.

Googled Pixies Holt, its a residential centre is Dartmeet! and near the dartmoor centre where your badger sanctuary maybe! It's got 35 bedrooms.
