  • So much goes into the decision of where to locate. For instance, should the house be located at the bottom of the hill so it isn't visible to passersby, or on top a hill to have an advantage in a firefight (high ground)? Should it be heavily wooded? This, again, offers concealment (and convenient fuel), but it also offers concealment for an attacking force (whereas an open field gives them fewer places to hide). Not easy decisions.

  • i don't know who owns it now but there is a old reserve military base not far from where i live.it is used for storage for a business or some thing.it has a natural spring across the road from it and a creek in front next to a gas station.the building is an old metal long building, with a basement.it is huge.in a shtf situation i know if it came down to it,it would be perfect and its already fenced in.just don't know how 2 find the owner?

  • @jameswrwice check with the tax office and you can look it up on the tax map and have the owners name in just a few minutes. Its that easy.

  • having a prepared positon is with power ,water, food ,security ,is great. But is also a huge attraction to others, I would suggest that you "mock attack / infiltrate " your wrol places and pinpoint the weakest areas, then you could adjust the defense plan. ie.grow thick areas of thorned bushes ,make or pinpoint areas for your attackers to hide and booby trap them, guide them the way you want them to come and lay pungee pits ect. the longer you have them set up the more natural they will be.

  • @mstone05 I'll stand my ground anywhere I fucking go, rebuild society to what the same old same old.society and civility will not return for many years to come.escape and evading will be the name of the game. The filth (the powers to be) will be hunting us down and kill us. STAND you bet, fight you bet. What kind of society will be determined when we come to it.But Iam sure it will be much of the same old bull shit power, prestige, position, The same old burnt out human ego.(s) best of fucking luck.

  • Even tho I don't believe it, prepping looks extremely fun

  • im going to grow food but my bartering supply will be hemp plants

  • Awesome Vid!!! Imagine this ... Think 1000 bc! Check out "eattheweeds" here on YouTube of course guys like Ray Mears open my mind to the simpler time. And those skills and understanding out natural world .. Now is the time to learn. Let's all regain this ancient knowledge ... Puts us in the drivers seat. Yeah ... And have loads of AMmo !

  • You're awesome. I wish I was in your group I've been doing this all my life and didn't even know what to call myself but now I know I'm a preper I live out in the country not too far away from you all outside of Athens Georgia and keep up the good work. I really like your videos

  • @vamuse and wagonwheel1...probably no lies in the comment.

Raw human waste or, "Night Soil," can not be safely used as fertilizer without time consuming work though.

Using human feces as fertilizer is done all over the world, but it is risky business as it may contain disease-causing pathogens.

Check this resource classic... Humanure Handbook for details of handling human waste. Yup, you can get it from Amazon.

BTW, handling your wastes is a vitally important skill in a grid crash situati

  • @vention4wh...you can't put urine directly on plants. It must be diluted with water 10 to 1. A half gallon of urine to every 5 gallon bucket of water.

Check out a resource called Liquid Gold by Carol Steinfeld.

  • I live in the city and i had no sure plan of where to go, thanks for this video. it's give me a new way to look for a wrol location and plan.

  • A urine diversion system in the outhouse is a great solution. It dramatically decreases odor. Also urine (sorry to gross you out) is a totally sterile, high nitrogen fertilizer that you can apply to your garden right away. The whole septic tank thing is a big waste of water and in a shtf, you people might not have enough power to pump water just to flush a toilette.

  • SP1 you are a genius!!!!!!!!

  • If you have the space to do so I'd remedy the full septic tank problem by adding a couple bags of lime to the tank, stirring it up and using a Honda waste pump to spray it out into some woods or scrub. The lime will disinfect and minimize smells and hopefully no one will be the wiser.

  • Great video, Bro.

  • What if you have asshole retarded, disrespectful, neighbors and stupid family members who still live in a fantasy world and dont believe a crisis is coming? A

  • you definitely got me motivated along with other things but let me correct one thing the debt is not ours (the people) it is the bankers debt they engineered this. look into it. :) INFOWARS.COM

  • Another great video. Thank you for being so sincere.

  • My home is located on 13 acres that is not visible from the highway. I have 5 trailers on my property that other familes and my extended family live in. We all have our individual homes on the retreat. Together, we work on the farm, always look to improve our sustainability.

  • I'm focusing on sustainability instead of just storage of supplies. Dave is right, stored supplies run out! Think about sustainability!

  • @pdlumina Ive heard you can do it but you must compost it until its totally broken down. Right now with my rabbit and chicken manure and compost Iam not going to think about human waste turned into compost. Some people that Ive read and talked to about it said just use human waste compost on flowers not things you eat. But to be honest Iam not a expert in human waste compost.

  • @southernprepper1 I am in the municipal wastewater biz and here's what the officials tell us....for the first year after fertilizing with sewage sludge don't use any hay or vegetables from the treated land...second year you may harvest hay and above ground vegetables...third year it should be safe for eating ground vegetables ( potatoes, carrots) as well. So get the waste in the ground early just to be sure.

  • @southernprepper1 My drain field off my septic tank makes great dew berries every year. I've never had a problem with them. I'm thinking about planting strawberries over the field line. Off course in a WROL situation there may not be as much water being run out of the house.

  • @southernprepper1 The farmers in our county use raw sewage or "municiple sludge" as they like to call it. This is raw non filtered human waste that they use on corn and bean fields. My uncle hunted a "shitted" field once for goose and there were used tampons and toilet paper that hasnt been broken down completely in the field he was laying in.

  • @vamuse172000 your uncle went to a field as rare as a mine field in this country. Farmers live where they grow food and do not shit where THEY have to work. so your uncle either lied or run into a HOBBY farmer who lives in the city or you lied. but a farmer using raw sewage is NOT a farmer. YOU do not shit in your house and we don't shit in our fields. If your story is true, he is not a farmer. he is a sewer rat

  • @wgnwheel1 calling people liars before researching is a very ignorant thing to do. Farmers all across American soil use Sludge to fertilize their fields in order to yield higher profits.

  • I told my son the other day when he asked about a collapse or a depression, that we might not be effected as badly as others but it would sure change how we brought groceries in the house lol. We'd hate to leave this house, but nothing is really safe...sometimes ya gotta settle for safer.

  • Hi SP1, you said you have a community in place, are you accepting anyone new? I have a lot of supplies, seeds, etc but live in a neighborhood full of elderly people, so we are in a pickle! Please contact me if possible to discuss this further, I'm very interested in your suggestions and LOVE your videos and advice, it has been everything my husband and I have been planning for we just are at a loss as to where to safely set down our "roots" garden, animals and all but without enough people! P

  • Just a thought. My family got inspired by visiting old farm right outside of Cherokee N.C. It's a day trip for us.We have been there many times. It's right behind the visitors center as you enter the smokey mountain national park This place takes you back in time when they had to do things the old way without power ect. If anyone lives nearby I think they should go visit. It may give you some ideas you haven't thought about before.Great place to take the kids!

  • Your videos are an excellent resource and are very much appreciated by our group here in New Hampshire. Thanks and keep up the good work!

  • @southernprepper1 "Usery" is morally wrong.

  • hey SP1 today i was thinking about your combat multipliers and remembered of something I saw on tv a long time ago, it was something that drug dealers use to use to protect their narcotic crops but it did stick with me. what they would do is in areas surrounding their crops, or your retreat and community maybe or your home stead. they would hang fish hooks off tree branches and plants surrounding their land.seems good to me, anyone running into that will get slowed down and question to engage

  • Hey, doesn't that rooster know its not daybreak anymore? LOL. Thanks. I enjoy your vids.

  • Excellent advice as always sir!

  • the best advice on youtube

  • hay sp1,i have an idea for a video, weigh the best places to be in a wrol situation. give the plus and minuses of being in the city, the suburbs, smaller towns and farming communities and the wilderness, the add in the plus and minuses of being alone and in a group has on these areas, just an idea, keep up the informational an good videos coming:)

  • You need to think primitive times, no lights no motor car not a single luxury.

  • nice video

  • Well put as usual!

  • Maybe just form a big gang and take over all neighbouring farms.

  • great points

  • FAST GROWING south PINE TREES can be harvest every five years

  • The only good thing about my current living situation is I am literally roughly 500-1000 yards from a hospital.

That could be a blessing or curse.

  • which do you think would be better in wrol a wood stove or a fire place

  • @yourtofiz If you have to go from your current location in some cases you may be able to take the wood stove with you verses a fireplace.

  • @yourtofiz a wood stove by far. Most wood stoves are rated at least 60% efficent compared to 10% efficent for a fireplace. So you need less wood for a wood stove.

  • @southernprepper1 thank you keep up the good work

  • @yourtofiz A woodstove is better because it gives off more heat than a fireplace and it's easyer to cook on.

  • @yourtofiz You can cook on a wood stove and control how fast it burns with the vents. You can also put larger logs in (don't use pine or spruce because of the sap).

  • Ive been prepping a few years now. There are a few people on youtube who i enjoy watching and learning from. Thx for all the vids you put out man you have been by far my fav and most inspirational of all of them. Hell you even slightly inspired my youtube name. Keep up the good work sp1 and god be with you.

  • I think it won't have to be a full blown economic collapse. When the gov't cuts the food stamp funds down to a drip, and social security check don't get mailed out, your gonna get violence. Thanks for all the good reminders. Haven't been on the couch in I can't remember when! LOL

  • im homeless so im already in bug out mode

  • @mysciencenow A homeless guy with a computer?

  • @RockerRocco1 yeah and actually i'm a gem cutter!!!! just haven't sold many recently (ever)... so ive just been farming a lot on a friends property...i had a job i was delivering pizzas but i got fired 2 weeks ago...So if you ever need any custom gems cut let me know, cause i need to get some land and a house soon!!!

  • great vid and topic. thanks for bringing this subject to the forefront. i think my family is bugging out to my step dads ranch that is in the middle of no where.

  • Great video.

    God Bless,

    Elba

  • good points

  • For many of the urban folks, there are many industrial districts with large warehouses etc abandoned. Many of these can make good securible bug out locations if needed. Going out now while things are decent and locating a few of these locations can be a good idea if your living in an urban environment. Especially for apartment dwellers.

Pre positioning, & caches to store gear safely is a great thing to mention if your planning for a location you don't live at.

  • One of your best videos yet.

Your timing is perfect, as I've been giving this subject a lot of thought lately.

  • some much to do, not enough time

  • any one in central Iowa Cedar Rapids specifically And you'd like to net work contact me please id love just to bounce ideas for prepping off some one

  • very good video.

  • Thank you....excellent vid, you keep me on my toes!

  • Sounds like great advice. thanks for the time and effort on these video's.

  • Hey SP1, I know this is off topic for this vid, but I figured your latest vid would be a good way to get your attention. As some1 who's put away a lot of long term storage food, I take it you have experience with dehydrators/vacuum sealers & I was wondering what your opinion is as to who makes the best stuff. I'm considering an Excaliber dehydrator but don't have a clue as to who makes a decent yet inexpensive vacuum sealer. Your input would be greatly apreciated. God bless, thanks.

  • @gearboy12550 1 other thing. My bug out location is about 10 miles by the way the crow flys; is this a realistic distance to make to a location when all hell breaks loose? I know it depends on many factors, & avoiding International airports, cities, military bases, & major roads/highways that will most likely be jammed with traffic & checkpoints, official & otherwise. & taking the most rural/'backroads' will be the best bet for avoiding problems. As always, thanks for your input.

  • @gearboy12550 The excaliber is a great dehydrator. I dont have a vacuum sealer as of now. Its on the list as money is available but I use canning jars. Put a small oxygen absorber in and your good to go. But yes a sealer would be nice.

  • @southernprepper1 Can you can stuff that's already cooked/prepared? I always thought cooking was part of the canning process. A lot of the stuff I've put away has gotten little moths in them; from rice to home dehydrated veggies & fruits & even dryed CHILLI PEPPERS. I take great pleasure exterminating the little bastards but there always seems to be more. I've tried freezing the food for a day or better, & putting the finished dried goods in the oven briefly but nothing seems to stave them off.

  • @southernprepper1 Where do these damn bugs come from? Are the eggs in the food to begin with? Why won't freezing/heat kill them? If they're not in the food to begin with, how are they getting in the sealed bags/containers I'm putting my stores in? They're in everything from bird seed to dog treats! I hate them! 1 of the little SOB's was orbiting me while I was typing this message! I woke up at 2:45 this morning & killed 1/2 dozen of them in an hour just in my bedroom alone!

  • @gearboy12550 If your going to freeze things do it for 3 days then take out for 30 days and let any eggs that are in there hatch out then refreeze for 3 more days. Now we killed everything. Make sure you leave things out a few days so no moisture problem then bag in mylar and oxygen absorber.

  • @gearboy12550 If the oxygen absorbers are not depriving any bugs that emerge from eggs then you may not be using enough of them or they may not be good. I believe the nitrogen method is the best as there is no vacuum to be compromised and one need not wonder if the oxygen absorbers they are using might not be good.

  • Try some apple cider vinegar in an open cup. That will kill the fliers. Gearboy is right on the re-freeze, Food comes with eggs no matter what. Nitrogen flush will also stop them (no oxygen). You can get a cylinder and nitro-pack your own.

  • @southernprepper1 There's a great manual vacuum pump that costs very little. Doesn't heat seal bags but works great for vacuuming jars w/o using o2 packets. Search for the pump-n-seal. It's also EMP proof :)

  • @gearboy12550 Among other options, I use a Food Saver and their canister to create a vacuum in all size canning jars. No oxygen absorber or nitrogen needed and the glass and metal lid are impermeable to oxygen. Even Mylar leaks some. The jars cost no more than the expensive Food Saver bags, and if you can afford the jars to can put them to immediate use. The Food Saver can also draw down Mylar bags for vacuum packed food or items. You Tube has many videos on this.

  • I am pretty lucky in my area...i am surrounded by miltary and most of my friends are like minded military folks, we're pretty rural but close enough to help each other out...now if i can get a few more to start stock a few things we'll be in good shape :-) excellent video as usual

  • boy i would friggin shoot that damn rooster!!

  • @angrynhpatriot Dinner ! I am an NH transplant to NC , how r things up that way?

  • @brotherscoobs hot and shitty....!

  • I would first attempting something with your family and a few very good, time tested and trusted friends. Unfortunately the average American in my area does not have what it takes to be trusted even in good times and even if they appear to be 'like-minded'. Don't ask me how over recent years, why I have come to that conclusion. Those where painful and costly experiences.

  • Thanks again.

  • Are you a youtube partner? If not you should, it will toss some extra money your way for your vids and your prepping.

  • Several times my neighbor's horses got out, I stopped to put them back into their pens and left a note with a phone number. after the 3rd time all I got was the finger. Don't know why&don't care anymore. Other houses in the area are empty. Only one about 3/4 mile is home and he keeps to himself too. When the stuff hits the fan I'm on my own with my hubby and son. Thanks for all the advice. I've been learning tons!!!

  • is there anybody in the west MI area interested in getting together? Contact me

  • @fatblockford1 sent you a PM...

  • Thank you for this series. A lot of great points to consider. We all have much work to do.

    Wranglerstar
