  • For some reason, it says on the video at 0:15 that the wind reading was -0.9m/s - this is a mistake. According to iaaf.org, it was actually -1.3m/s

  • usain lightning bolt....

  • Bolt he is a legend

  • this race sows just how close this rivarly truly is-this is what the olympic final should have looked like.....

  • when was this

  • yeah he not just boasting about himself - he's making a name for his country

  • The man is a monster, no less

  • what?! Bolt defeated Powell

  • where have u been the last year or so?

  • i just can't believe that bolt just defeated powell, powell is the fastest man in the world...

  • not since the olympics. im guessing ur a powell fan. usain has still got more in the tank. he pulls up like 10 to 20 meters b4 the end. he will run like a 9.50 by then end of his career

  • but still...ASAFA POWELL is the best...

  • he is truly doped

  • No dope mate. Bolt is not an American/East German/Eastern bloc sprinter.

He is simply the best and most gifted sprinter in history.

He was also the best ever junior and ran 10.3 at age 15 in the 100 and 20.58 in the 200.

He also equalled/broke the world junior record 3 times.

  • it's just not right how he runs so fast at that height. he is truly talented.

  • its the effort put in to training as well..everyohuman being can run 100m with the same timing with bolt, gayn powell..but no human being can run in less than 9 secs..if there is thts wut u called a miracle body...

  • Am....no not every human being can run the 100m in under 10secs - certain people have slow twitching muscle fibres such as many Kenyans and Ethiopians making them great long distance athletes and other nations are known for producing athletes with fast twitching muscle fibres such as Jamaica Bahamas and the US which make them great sprinters. I can't imagine Pygmies being able to break 12 seconds for the 100m let alone 10...need I go on?

  • Your point is that all runners either long distance or short distance must be black in order to be a good athlete.

  • That's EXACTLY what it is. All evidence points towards it. If someone can prove otherwise,do us all a favour, we all want to know.

  • there are some exceptions.. cant remember the name of the guy- morrocco guy 5000m race - arab guy- was a legend..

  • @madmax797 Hicham El Guerrouj

  • all evidence does Not point towards your statement.

  • Watched a great show on Discovery Channel Canada last night. Miracle Bodies: World's Fastest Runners. It was shot last year and focused on Asafa, since it was before Bolt hit the 100m scene. They did all MRIs and a load of other tests to determine what created his speed as opposed to other sprinters, including Gay. If you can find it on TV in your area, watch it. Pretty interesting stuff. The findings for Powell can be assumed to be true in Bolt as well, except for Asafa's initial start.

  • Sorry, "Miracle Body"

  • lol asafa powell should start playing soccer..hes got perfect forward build...an hes quick...

  • and he started last...

  • bolt will break the 400 meters record next season. i seen him run 45.4 at 16 years old @ high school championship in jamaica.

  • theres NO BEEF WITH THEM they are doing this 4 JAMAICA,UNITY,HARMONIZATION instead of personal boasting.these guys have cause a MAJOR CHAIN REACTION in jamaica just wait and see the EXPLOSION OF NEW TALENT BURSTING ON THE SCENE,alot of universities across the world are scouting athletes in jamaica.most of our athletes are coming from NOTHING no one should even comment NEGATIVELY about them,CONGRATULATE BUT DON'T YOU DARE PLAYA HATE

  • lmao! no "personal boasting"???? the reason i love usain bolt is because of his antics and self promotion. He wants to make a name for HIMSELF and his country

  • Bolt will always be abit faster than powell....But powell has a great start and if he can hold the pace at the end...it will make bolt run properly...But bolt is amazing ... i think he can get early 9.6 if he sprinted full way.....But i think powell can give bolt a good tace and sometimes defeat bolt

  • Asafa is ahead because bolt stumbles off the blocks

  • haha well hes actually one of the best 100m sprinters too, wtf am I talkin. Bolt is incredible tho.

  • I'd like to see Powell do a 40yard dash, I reckon hes one of the most explosive sprinters ever.

  • Probably one of the few times we will see Usain at full speed at the finish line

  • bolt have the 200m endurance in him so he will always have a stronger and faster finish than powell

  • would be impossoble to beat Bolt in the 200m because even with a bad start, theres an extra distance to finish. Asafa showed here that the only slight chance of beating Bolt at his peak is in the 100m.

  • wow, incredible sprinting by those two, leagues ahead of the rest. If bolt improves his reactions he could run under 9:6?

  • gigidr asafa is as fast like bolt in 80m? i think that NO,today reaction asafa 0.145 bolt 0.223, 0.08 better only in the star because bolt very slow reaction, if bolt start acceptly good in reaction(like in JJOO), powell can not run so fast like bolt. sorry

  • fair point, but I think wat he was suggesting that in shorter distance like the 60m indoors , Powell and Bolt would prob share 50/50 if they raced 10 times. Definitely 100m and 200m Usain is superior.

  • Asafa is as fast as bolt on 80m, bolt is stronger, and usually beats asafa on the last meters. They're both great, but bolt is better for now. I was really hoping asafa would win.

  • me 2.powell comes out the blocks drifts right, then drifts left half way, then drifts back right near end. if he ever manages 2 run in a straight line he will be even quicker.u notice this from the overhead angle.

  • Respect due to the two greatest sprinters in the world.....

  • heheh powell mental strenght? i think that is logical to think that powell will ger marks under 9.70 of course but is that bolt can ger marks under 9.60(with good weather and good wind of course). That is the difference ;)

  • yea, people talk bout Bolt showboating but thats one of his strength he enjoys the moment, him love the attention and perform in the limelight. Asafa still have another olympics and a few world championship in him still, and he ran a new personal best the other day, on a fast track with a little wind he can break the world record

  • Good to see them having fun. Bolt and Powell best sprinters in the world

  • When you crack down on drug cheats, American sprinters suffer and their advanced cheating labs disappear.

  • Asafa's catching up. There is still a lot more left in him.

  • Asafa is still 25 or 26, he can still get faster.

  • Asafa doesn't need to get any faster, jus more mental strength

  • very true. i think he panicks inthe big events, you can see the nervousness in his eyes in the olympics. Usain Bolt is so unbelievably relaxed.

  • Then what do you think of Bolt? At the 2012 London Olympics, he'll be 26 and possibly at his peak in sprinting. Powell will probably go down from next year; he's already 26 I think.

  • Linford Christie won the olynpic 100m at 30 something. Although I doubt Asafa will last that long, his main asset is his explosiveness, not his technique or stride, so when he is 30+, his explosiveness will decrease.
