  • This one of best songs. It proves that you do not have to be loud to be very good!!

  • Great pics add so much to the great song. You created a marvelous video here!

  • @1400deadwood Hello, Richard. Thank you very much for the kind comment. Have a good winter time. Cheers! :) Teisuka

  • Jethro Tull the best band ever!!!!!

    Amazing quality of sound!!!!!

  • teiska- Beautiful video. I live in Eastern NC now but hail from upper New York State. Unless you come from a snowy area you just can't imagine the empty feeling during winter by not having it. You did a fantastic job. Thanks for the memories.

  • @BB61Sailor You're welcome, and thank you for the nice comment, buddy. I wish you a lot of good memories in the future as well. :) Greetings from the autumnal Finland, Teiska

  • feels like home to me... :)

  • Love this song, I love the beauty of the sound, the letter, Ian's voice. I Love Jethro Tull!!

  • I hope they play this one in Chicago... next month.

  • It took a freaking veteran English rock band like Jethro Tull to give us a beautifully creative song about Brooklyn? I am speechless. This is a wonderful song. It may not be rock but it's classic Jethro Tull applying their old English style to terrific New York scenes. Teiska123 if you did this video on your own you deserve applause also.

  • @lastrada52 Thank you very much for the good comment. Jethro Tull and New York is a great combination in this case. :) And yes, I have edited this video by myself. Thank you. Have a nice week! ~Teisuka

  • Beautiful slides to one of the best Tull songs ever written. Thanks, and thanks to Ian for writing a truly wonderful tune....again.....

    Ray - Universe Records

  • @RayTull Oh, thank you for the good comment, sir. I am honoured to get visitor from Universe Records. So, may I recommend to everyone buy an original CD albums of Jethro Tull, just like I've done myself. Ahem... hehe... Have a nice week! ^_^

    Teisuka (Finland)

  • Thanks Teisuka. My Tull band, Living with the Past, is in rehearsals for some new upcoming shows. We will be doing some "new" tunes we've never done before live, including Old Ghosts, Thousand Mothers, Wind Up, and yes, perhaps First Snow! Best wishes to you and our friends in Finland.

BTW, Finland's Nightwish is one of my fav bands.....the Wishmaster live DVD is one of THE best live performances of all time in my opinion. Amazing!

    Ray

  • @RayTull Hi, Ray. Thanks again for your kind reply. I wish good luck to your Tull band! Glad to hear you like Finland's Nightwish, too. I agree with you, the Wishmaster live DVD is great live performance! We have many good heavy metal bands in Finland, but not ANY famous progressive rock bands. I've always wondered that... Well, I think I will listen to Jethro Tull right now. 'Songs from the Wood' is good choice on this vernal day. ^_^

    Teisuka

  • to: teiska -- a truly beautiful song with beautiful slides. Thank you for posting this. My relatives are all from Finland, too ( but I forget from where) and I heard that Tull is well-liked by the Finnish. I'm not surprised, as this has been my favorite band since "This Was" and I just love Ian's voice. As for this song, you've chosen well and may God bless you. kh

  • @mac420p You're welcome, and thank you for the nice comment. Oh, I see, your roots are in Finland. It might be a cool and exotic there. :) I wish you a good weekend. God bless you.

Greetings from very cold and snowy Finland, Teisuka

  • I'm baaack! lol We've got a freakin BLIZZARD. XD No school today or tomorrow.

  • @LandofDisturbia Hahaha! Good for you, buddy. Your prayers have been answered. Congratulations! ^_^

  • Beautiful vocals/flute as ever! Modern view by a classic musician.

  • Beautiful... thanks for posting...

  • @shilka19 You're welcome, and thank you for watching/listening. :)

  • So, so beautiful.

  • Ian - you´re sooo phantastic - we love you!

  • Woke up at 3 AM and the windows were frosty for the first time. Looked out, and it was literally this year's First Snow on Brooklyn. It looks just like the scene at 0:50 and 1:03. Thank you for putting together this lovely slide show--especially for my son & DIL out in cloudy, rainy Oregon.

  • @LorettaMath I am glad to read your nice comment. Thank you very much, and cheers! :) Greetings from cold and snowy Finland. We have 60 cm of snow on the ground in our capital Helsinki!!! Happily, it means a white Christmas and that's great. Merry Christmas to you! :)

    Best regards, Teisuka

  • JETHRO TULL que du bonheur !!!

  • Pass New York City going to Hatford CT when I use to live in DC area and that was back when I was still in high school. I love snow and I miss the snow back in the east coast.

  • @Digatone Yep, snow is nice. We have that white stuff a LOT in Finland in these days! ^_^

  • Thanks. Snow is not yet in the ground, but no worries only few WEEKS. =)

  • I'm listening to this song in August... :] I love winter and the snow and how it gets dark at 5 o' clock! Having thunderstorms or blizzards and darkness helps me focus more on my schoolwork. I can't explain it but somehow it makes my mind feel peaceful. Aye... I pray for much snow this winter! I pray to do wonderful this year! I want to make my 8th grade year the best year since 4th grade! For me the winter is a season of hope. I can't explain it but I'm sooo... EXCITED. I need coldness!

  • @LandofDisturbia I guess I understand you, even if I don't agree. ;) I love warm weather and light. Well, I love winter and snow also, but not too much... By the way, last winter was very, very snowy in Finland. Luckily we have four seasons. :D

  • @teiska123 hahahha lol snowy.. well yeah im from fin :*)

  • @LandofDisturbia Same goes for me whenever a snow scenery appears my mind tends to focus more on my studies and I get extremely energetic at night :D

  • Eines der schönsten Weihnachtslieser find ich.

Kann mam auch im Partyraum hören.

  • @MrKlaba Danke sehr! :)

  • I heard it on the national radio, unannounced what the name of the music was, it took me about 2 hours to find it from the lyrics on google. Such a nice melody.

  • Thanks for your comment. I am glad for you. God bless the web! Almost everything we can find from here. :)

  • very pretty thanks !

  • Thank you. :)

  • Wow I could watch this over and over. It somehow seems appropriate to me at the moment. Such a beautiful song and lovely photos.

  • Cool! I am glad to hear you like this video. :)

  • Teiska, may the god of your choice bless you for posting this.

Where do we begin. A song so beautiful it very nearly makes one cry, from the Christmas/Winter album which has no peer, from a band whose excellence in writing, choosing and performing has been a constant for forty years.

    Again, I thank you.

  • Wow! Thank you very much for your kind words and Merry Christmas, Ukrandr! :) Jethro Tull is a really classic band and they makes great, timeless music.

  • Love this song too, a poignant modern classic. Met the great Mr A a couple of years ago and thanked him for being such an amazing musician and songwriter, but especially for THIS song!

  • Wow, you had a great chance to give some good feedback! By the way, Merry Christmas! :)

  • Merry Christmas to you too!

Mr A is a very intelligent, authentic man of great integrity .... we were neighbours (a few fields away!) in England. Mrs A is very cool too.

  • Thanks for posting....This is such a great Christmas Album....probably my favorite....no....it IS my favorite :) :)

  • You're welcome. I am glad to hear that. :)

  • Thank you!!! I have been looking for this song for long, long time.

  • Oh, I am glad for you that you finally find it!! YouTube is the best channel to find something! :)

  • The combination of Christmas excitement and emotional heartbreak in this song is a potent brew. Bittersweet. What a great tune - will become a Christmas standard for me. Another masterwork by Mr. Anderson!

  • Well said! For me this song have been Christmas standard for 6 years. I think it's one of the best new Christmas carols. :)

  • A great song from a fine album. Reminds me of the acoustic work on the Minstrel In The Gallery album.

  • Yeah, Minstrel in the Gallery is a great album also. Troubadour prog. :)

  • bet a lot of people visit this

  • I hope so! :)

  • oh i like this one.good photos and good music.

  • Thank you for your kind comment, Kissy chan.

  • Lovely song. Funny the stereotypes people have about things -- I'm a lifelong northeasterner and know it's not uncommon at all to have ZERO measurable white stuff before Xmas in NYC. It can be quite mild for large parts of December in that part of the country. Of course, they can have snow as early as November, as well -- white Thanksgiving! Point is, folks who assume Xmas is automatically Currier and Ives for us up this way are mistaken. Although the white stuff DOES set a nice atmosphere.

  • Thank you for your informative comment. To clear things out, I do not assume that New York is covered with that "white stuff" during every X-mas. ;) As a matter of fact I myself am from Finland and even we have snowless X-mases...

  • No insult intended. Just an observation. I tend to notice weather anamolies in TV, movies, etc. Hollywood commonly has midwestern or northeastern USA Christmases (often even Thanksgivings!) occurring in snowstorms (the medical TV series ER particularly liked to do this.). As I said, it does set a nice mood, but not necessarily accurate. Similarly, movies will show a supposedly late October scene, yet all the trees are green. Or, early Sept. shot with trees in full autumn color. Both inaccurate.

  • No insult taken. Have a white X-mas over there, when the time comes. :)

  • Music is very suitable for the winter of New York.

It is very good. the last animation

  • Thank you for your kind comment. Yeah, I also think music is suitable, even if the Jethro Tull is a British band. Actually their singer/songwriter is a Scottish guy. :)
