I dont have a cat but i wish to have a cat. I plan to declaw the cat when i have it. After watching this video, I cried. I feel so sad for the cats even i dont have one myself. I love cats and I swear i wont declaw my cat.
Yea when I get my own place my cat is so getting declawed, or its living outside!! You call it inhumane and cruel but how is it fair if the cat rip another pets eyes out or injures another cat! Cats can do wicked thing with tho claws and I wont have a cat scratching my kids or ripping another cat intestine out or eyes out, or destroying my house. Your video didn't really make me empathize to not do it.
I don't understand how you can keep any animal if you plan to amputate it.
Docking/cropping dogs (or even worse - debarking), wing clipping birds (yes, it is amputating, even if they don't have any feeling in the feathers), declawing... what else?
And don't compare this with spaying/neutering. Declawing/debarking/wing clipping is completely for the owners convenience. There are other ways to solve the problems without hurting the animal.
I love cats and there is a way to avoid declawing as some cats are really difficult: live with the cat's nature and accept scratches in skin and furniture or don't get them as pets. Accept the cat as it is and reality.
There's a sick fuck on this website called Crusaderthecat (no joke and he happily admits it in videos, he's a batshit christian to) that he had his cats declawed so they won't scratch him when he has sex with them.
Put simply: if you don't like a cat's natural behaviour, then a cat is not for you. Only barbaric idiots would declaw a cat. It's cruel, and a lifelong torture for the cat.
De-clawing cats really screws them up. The points made in this video are absolutely true, balance, mobility, and emotional security.
The effects of de-clawing are tantamount to chopping a person's toes or fingertips off.
Some of the most pissed off and angry cats I've ever seen are ones that were de-clawed.
Scratching issues are simple too. We encouraged our two cats to use our welcome mat that we leave in front of the door. Our couches and chairs still look brand new.
If you were annoyed by your child's crying, you would (I hope) be horrified at the suggestion that you cut out its tongue. We do not generally condone chopping of thieves hands to stop that behavior. However, it is apparently acceptable to mutilate your pet in order to protect drapes, couches, etc. (*cough MATERIALISM cough*). If you cannot take the time to to explore the non-maiming methods of scratching control, cannot be bothered to train the animal, then don't get a cat.
i dont know about emotional problems but i agree cats need there claws for everything protect themselves climb and even just playing around. some assholes found our cat and we had no idea were he was for like 2 weeks when he found his way back to are house they hadnt declawed him but they cut his nails and put caps on them they will grow back but we cant let him out side now. and declawing is worse doesnt it get rid of them forever.

PAWS NEED CLAWS! Don't mutilate your cat for the sake of your stupid furniture! If you LOVE your cats, don't do this to them!

Declawing is horrible.

do not ever declaw, you can do other solution
try softpaws
they work amazing, and involes 0% pain to cat, all you do is put a soft thingie on top of the nail, just glue it on, thats it..
