  • Hi there!.Can the MAC lip erase work to acheive a nude lip effect.I do not wish to use concealer or foundation to neutralize my lip color. And I was wondering if you ever tried,or know of anyone who applies to MAC lip erase,as a base for the nude lip look.Have you ever tried the (LIP CONCEALER) from Black Opal.It is suppose to do the same thing,I think.

  • idk if this is rude or not but ive been wanting to ask.. not in a rude way im just curious. are you gay?

  • stuppiiddd gayyy...!!!

  • Do you think lip erase would work for darker skin tones like mine?i usually just use some fix fluid and stippleit over my lips... will llip erase be better?

  • Would you recommend the lip erase for darker toned african-americans?

  • best guru everrrrrrrrrrrrr.......... best reviewsss ever as well. have to get the lip erase!

  • Women of color or people with darker skin tones tend to have more "pigmented" lips than peope with lighter shades of skin. MAC website still carries just those 2 shades (I checked). I really hope that MAC comes out with darker shades of LIP ERASE soon. I presently use concealer as a base on my lips to neutralize them from their naturally dark shade. I use REVLON color stay. Works the same. Feels dry though, until you put some gloss over it. Then its fine. Great products!

  • i mean the same colour than your face

  • Correction pale is similar to n27 and dim is n37

  • Hi I'm a nc30 or 35 I heard that dim was similar to the shade nc37 and pale was close to nc25 or somethings like that. Which one would you recommend for me? Would dim be too dark since 37 and I'm nc30 or so? Please help I'm really interested in this product

  • Your videos are very helpful! Thanks for sharing!(:

  • Wow this is so helpful!!! Thnx a million!

  • I loved this! For the lip erase, I have a NW25 in concealer (I don't have a mac foundation) should I get Pale or Dim? Thanks! Loved the video! You're so helpful :)

  • hi i too am nw25 and i got dim

  • looks great on you. m not how sure how it would look on me since in african american, im dark mocha color. But i will give it a try.

  • i like the lip erase... ur tutorial was cool yea it erased those lips totally

  • hello, great video, you're making me want these so much. what do you recommend for my NC30 in studio fix and NC37 in select spf15 in regards to sculpting and lip erase? i dont have a pro store so i can only get it by phone :(

  • im trying to get this but dont know what shade to get what do i go by my skin color or lip color??

im fair compled but my natural lip color is like a red please help thanks

  • Every vid I watch I learn something new! Thanks a million!

  • does mac still have that lip eraser.. if you ask me i think the nude lips looks great!

  • its a Pro product, avail at Pro stores.

  • um its okaii i guess!

  • this is amazing. the website didnt work though :/

  • I have been looking online at the MAC website, and I can't find for the life of me the MAC sculpt and shape...

I have also been looking for the blush color emote. I called my local MAC counter, and she didn't know if it was discontinued or a pro product. I was wondering if you could maybe help me out...

    thanks,

    kirsten

  • hey kirsten - EMOTE is limited edition and no longer available. I hope it gets repromoted. Sculpt & Shape is also limited, BUT its permanent in the PRO line. Check out MACPRO (dot com) for those. You can purchase from any Pro Store.

  • I've been looking a long time for a tutorial about countouring. None of the ones I found were clarifying as yours. You are a star! Thanks for sharing!!

  • on the topicof pro lip products:

can u do a video on how use lipmix, and the palette?

  • for sculpt and shape, do i pick a color darker than my skintone? or slightly the same color?

and for the MAC slupt and shape, theres one where theeres two colors in one compact. Do i apply it w/ both colors at once?

  • hey Kay - yes you pick a color darker than your skin tone. The MAC duos, one is for contouring and the other is for hi-lighting.

  • hey Kore the lip erase can be on darker skin i am nw43 in studio fix and my upper lip is darker, has a dull flesh color and the bottom one is more pink nude with darker line from the upper lip is soo is dime good?

  • yep DIM would be good for ya.

  • ok mm how much they cost? and thanx i love your video learn something everyday

  • theyre $14, i believe

  • I recently discovered MAC sculpt & shape duos (I bought it after watching your vid on it) and wow, it does make a difference. I love it especially on my nose.

I also love lip erase. Hey Koren, for people who cant access MAC pro stores, would the eye prep+prime product work also as the lip erase? They kinda look similar in the pot, at least! lol

  • hi skevola - the prep and prime product will dry their lips. Lip Erase is a blam, so it will continously moisturize the lips. If another a good alternative is plain ole concealer, but make sure to moisturize the lips at least 15 mins prior to applying.

  • Would the mac lip eraser look natural on african american lips?

  • It basically just neutralizes the lip color prior to wearing lipstick. Specially great for those sheer ones.

  • I thought you are supposed to use a lip liner which is the same shade as the lipstick not darker. Anyway your videos are great!

  • nope you can wear darker lipliner to give the lips a more pop! A darker lipliner also gives the lips a bit more of that dramatic look to it.

  • Let me just say that you are the best!! I have watched I think like 13 of your videos so far and I'm gonna take a break and come back and watch more. This is amazing. I'm just soaking it all up and writing stuff down to try. Thank you so much for much us all beautiful and you are a beautiful person to. Keep the vids coming

  • How well does MAC work for theater work?

Been using ben nye, Kryolan, et al. for years.

  • Very well! - a large percentage of Shows playing on Broadway uses MAC makeup now, and of course ALL Cirque Du Soleil shows are MAC makeup as well. More and more theatrical productions are exclusively using MAC. MAC also have Pro Products that are more suitable for theater work.

  • Are you a MAC rep, or just use the product?

I guess I knew Cirque moved to AC from Ben Nye.

So do you have any videos of MAC being used for the stage? Old age, character make up, etc.

I am getting set to do Beauty and the Beast and need to buy product soon.

    Thanks for the vids.

  • I just use the product. I dont have any theatrical vids yet. I should do, afterall Theater Makeup is where I started.

  • thanks for your videos! i've been watching them all day long and i've learned so much more than the other how-to videos here on YT.

mac's lip erase seems to be the solution to my problem. i'm so excited! my lips doesn't have an even color. my upper lip is darker, has a dull flesh color, while my lower lip is more on the reddish/pinkish side on the center but darkish on the edges.

my question is: which color of lip erase would you recommend for me? pale or dim? thanks so much!

  • Pale should be ok to use.

  • thanks for answering! keep up the great work! i'm becoming a enkore-addict ^.^

  • How much does this cost?

  • the Pro size are $15.50 and the Duos are $21

  • thanks Koren...can wait for the video!!!lot of luv from Ireland...

  • Hi Koren..i luv this video but i have 1 question,i have a very high(bridge)and big tip nose..can u advise me how to make it look smaller..thanks

    p/s:i hate my nose :(

  • you can definitely reshape by conroutring and highlighting. You can narrow the tip by highlighting the top no wider than your pinky finger, and contouring the the side. I will have a video on Contouring the Nose soon.

  • Nice tutorial

    I lurve contouring :-P

  • I just truly appreciate the fact that you demonstrate everything on your own face AND that you show us every single step. Your honesty and integrity is so much appreciated.

  • Hi Koren,

You have the greatest video's in the world and they really have kicked me into gear to get started on my makeup regiment. I have a question for you I'm pretty much an NC42 (filipino) what do you recommend for which Shaper Duo's I should purchase?

  • I cant remember what the Duo combo tones are at the moment, but definitely SCULPT for the contouring, and probably Accentuate for the hi-liting.

  • hei koren

do you know some other brands i could use other than lip eraser ,, so my lipstick stay longer and look better

  • Benefit has one that's in a lipgloss like tube with a wand applicator.

  • hei koren

i just been to mac makeup store2 days ago ...im supposed to buy some lip eraser just like you mention here on your video... i would love to try that but they dont have it here ... do you know other brands i could use other than that in same effect to make my lipstick stays longer and look better

    thank u

  • hey Panser - I have not seen a product like this with other brands - yet! Im sure someone will come up with similar product soon.

  • Benefit has had something like Lip Erase for quite awhile. It's called Lip Plump, for people without acess to the Pro stores like me.

  • what about benefit's lip plump? i've read that it's a primer that also has nude color pigments...

what do you think? i'm still deciding which product to get... thanks!

  • try filling in your lips with Sally Hansen's Invisible Lip Liner - cheaper, and it works!

  • Hi Enkore! I love all your vids!

I want to know if we're using this sculpting/ contouring powder...is it after foundation or before? Sorry, I'm so new with make up..lol....:D

    Thanks!

  • hey Shareena - you apply after foundation.

  • Hi Enkore, I really LOOOOVE your vids! They are always so helpful and professional!

I have been thinking to buy the sculpting and shaping powders for a while, but it's hard to decide which shades I should go for.

My skin is around NC20, Asian tone:) Which powder I should choose for both sculpting and shaping powders? Emphasize or Soft Focus? And do I fit Sculpt?

THX for your great work! I can't wait to see your next vid:)

  • hey doll - the Shaper DUOs are coming out Dec 26 if you want to wait a few more days. And these are available at all counters and stores. NC20 - yeah definitely Soft Focus, and either Bone Beige or Sculpt.

  • Wouldn't the Lip Erase color just mix with the color of your lipstick to make a different color? (I hope not cause that might defeat the whole purpose, right?)

  • hey lisette - its sets on your lips and doesnt mix with the lip color. Such an amazing product, who ever thought of it should get an award or something.

  • wow! that lip erase stuff looks like it works amazingly! cool stuff!

  • yeah Im loving this stuff -- definitely look into it.

  • Thanx Koren im gonna show this to my mom later. Thanx again :)

  • You are awesome! I assume you will contour both sides of your face and nose? Would I use this technique to make my nose appear smaller? Thanks so much!

  • yes. both sides. and this will definitely slim down the nose.

  • Lip Liner 101

always apply lip liner to entire lip.

  • hi i have a question, do you need a mac pro card to shop in a mac pro store? the lip balm you used is amazing and i have to have it...... thanks alot! and i LOVE your videos i just want to thank you for spending your time in helping all the ladies who wanna look gorgeous. thanks again

  • No, you dont nee a Pro Card to shop at a Pro Store. Online however you do.

  • ...

Also do you know if these fit into the empty MAC Blusher palettes?

    Sorry so many questions

    Thankyou

  • You can buy them in palette refil pans at a Pro Store, or online.

  • Thankyou!!!

Just one more question - do you think there is much difference between these powders and say, a matte eyeshadow for shading?

  • well, Ive used matte shadows for contouring before, aside from price? they both works just fine. $14 for the eyeshadow size, vs $14.50 for the blush size contour powder.

  • the sculpt and shape powders are formulated to not change the texture/look of your natural skin like a matte eyeshadow would to help make the whole effect still be very realistic..

  • Hi Koren!

I was looking at the Pro Sculpt shades online and am quite confused about what shades would be best for my NC35 skintone (I also have a yellow based skintone, I am Chinese).

Can you possible recommend one or two good shades from the sculpt range for my skin tone - I'd particuraly like to slim my nose and cheeks!

Also with the Nudes, is the white (Emphazise) the best choice or can it look obvious? Can you recommend a shade too?

  • hey 8hourcream - I'm an NC35. So, you can use the ones I used here if youd like. Definitely SCULPT. If you think Emphasize is too light, go for the next shade darker.

  • can i use bronzer for contouring?

  • hey rosewith- SURE you can use bronzer or darker shade of mineralized powder.

  • thanks =] i like your videos..i learn a lot =]

  • A question for us poor slobs who don't live near a MAC pro store....what would be equivelent products in the conumer MAC line? I think "Emote" would work for the sculpt, but do you have ideas for the highlight/shaper? I was thiking of using an off-white, matte eyeshadow for this, maybe?? :-)

  • sure! You can use mineralized SKINfinish in Light for hi-lite and Med to deep dark for contouring depending on your tone. You can use matte eye shadows too.

  • Thanks so much! :-)

I have never been very confident with face contouring, but after watching this and your other contouring vid (with foundation), I think I want to give it a try! thank you sooo much for this!

  • Hi,

I'm googling the brush on this vid and there are so many brushes to choose from.

What size and series is your brush? And are they oval or round?

I just went to the mac pro store and they won't be carring this product for at least another 2 weeks :-(

    Thanks

  • Loew-Cornell Maxine Mops 3/4 and 1 inch. Purple handled. I got them at Michael's craft. I have smaller ones too.

  • Aww, you're great! :)

I have a question, though: I'm really really pale (paler than NW15) and cool toned, so, do you think that I, too could use the "Sculpt" shade? It's the lightest shade, right? But it seems a bit warm for me :/

  • hey Violet -- no. Sculpt is not the lightest. The 2 i showed here are the 2 darkest. there are 3 lighter ones. So, probably the one lighter than Sculpt.

  • Could you come over to my place everyday to do my makeup? :) you are so talented!

Could you teach us more about facial sculpting? as in how using makeup to shape the forehead and chin area as well? xox

  • what shade are you? also, im an NC40... what sculpt & shape color do you reccomend for my shade? thank you! i love ur vids.

  • Im an NC 35 - you can try the 2 sculpters I used which are SCULPT and SHADOWY. And for shapers, I'd try Lightsweep or Soft Focus.

  • cool

  • I think you're brilliant! Keep up with the vids.

  • Could you tell me what brush you're using to apply the sculpting powders? Thanks so much! I love your reviews by the way. I really appreciate being able to see the pro products on skin rather than a swatch on the website.

  • Loews and Cornell Mop Brushes. They come in various sizes. Avail at Michael's crafts.

  • I don't see these on the maccosmetics online website, do we have to joine MaC Pro to purchse these items??

  • Nope, no need to be a pro member to purchase. you can find at MACPRO dot com.

  • i went to the macpro site, and you DO have to be a member. what if i'm not a makeup artist but still want to purchase macpro stuff?

  • You dont have to be a member to buy Pro products. But the pro website only allows Pro members to order from the site. Id suggest going to a Pro Store or calling one to order pro products.

  • gotcha thankz : )

  • Great tutorial! What is the brush? Is it MAC ?

  • Nope - just fabulous painting brushes I got at Michael's crafts. They are white goat hair Mop Brushes by Leows & Cornell comes in 8 diff sizes.

  • I LUV UR VIDEOSSS!!! lolz i have a random... question is there a reason y some stuff is pro?

  • they are high pigmented products geared towards makeup artists. most products have characteristics ideal and used in runway, tv, film, stage, etc.

  • simply amazing! keep them coming. i watch you everyday before going to work, while getting ready for work and at night before i go to bed. you've helped so many ppl! THANK YOU

  • i have a question, can anyone buy Mac Pro products? or do you have to have a mac pro card to buy mac pro products?

  • this is awesome! I have been waiting for something like lip erase. yea!

  • Thanks for posting this! I was curious about these and really glad that you did a review on them!! :D

  • would emote work the same as the sculptors? why is emote a blush and not a sculptor?

  • Damn! You are awesome! :)

  • I LUV U!!!!:)

  • Hey K,

Great Demo! Thank You Thank You Thank You.

    Ur The Best.

  • Oh I want all of those products, with a round face like mine I'm really in need of a lot of contour. But Emote works kinda good too. Great review!

  • Hi What is the white brush you are using to apply the contour?

Is this a Mac Pro product? Is it new?

  • No its not from MAC - just a white goat hair Mop brush that you get from the arts store. They come in different sizes. One is same size as MAC 239. I bought all the sizes available.

  • omg this was so freakin awesomeeeeeee

my lips are so pink i need to get thisssss

wohh hooooo thank u koren u r the bestttttttttttt

  • all my friends want to know how i contour, so i say the MAC dark coloured blushes but the truth is my face is just like that haah

  • I want the lip shaper.. Stupid SCP!!!

    fantastic video thanks!

  • Ohhh my gosh, I want Lip Erase so bad. =)

  • I've been wanting to buy this stuff but now that I got to see it in action, I'm buying it for sure. I love the lip erase! Every lip liner turns orange on me. Will this help my lip liners stay more true to color?

  • YES it does, well at least the ones I tested on - Cork, Quarts, Whirl.

  • awesome! thanks for the review! :))

  • w00t 1st comment!!!!! anyways ..loved the vid and i love allll ur vidoes :)
