Hot damn. I use the same technique for the vanishing points and my perspective always ends up being wonky anyway. I draw out a grid before actually putting objects in there, though; would it help if I skipped that step?
@miniteichman Thanks, I knew about using shift and pen tool, but this just seemed smoother. Maybe its the program difference or something. Thanks though!
Anyone wondering this is boards of Canada. Sooo sick.

Hold shift for straight lines. I've been working with photoshop for 8 years and never knew that. Thank you so much!

Awesome!! What did you use to mark the vanishing points off of the edge of the canvas?
whoisneef 1 year ago
@whoisneef It's a point on an actively visible path. You can make one with the pen tool, and keep the path selected in the paths window.

which photoshop is this? I have CS3 and the shift and click on two points to make a straight line doesn't work...
xDaNN3h 1 year ago
@xDaNN3h
To make a straight line between two points you make the point, hold down shift, and with that button down, tap where you want the next point to be.

How are you getting these straight lines!

Question, what tool are you using to draw the straight lines or are you drawing those lines freehand?
This was awesome, thanks for sharing.

@PoisonedBandaids pen tool and shift-tapping. I am guessing that shape dynamics etc. are disabled

What's that you said about working against a toned background again? Jk great stuff :)
Fiskepudding127 1 year ago
@Fiskepudding127 I think that only applies to coloring so that you can get more accurate shading and lighting. :)

@Fiskepudding127 So was I
07blackhawk07 1 year ago
@07blackhawk07 The way I understood it, he said to work against toned backgrounds, even when doing line art, in order to prevent eye strain.
Fiskepudding127 1 year ago
@07blackhawk07 Ahh nevermind. I was referring to his older tutorial.
