  • Hey wormfarmergeorge or any other worm heads out there. I've recently started a small wormfarm in a polystyrene box. I now want to harvest the worms and castings and re bed them. How do you get the eggs and the really tiny baby worms out of the castings?

  • Hi Bro you are always a surprise for me,great video!

  • very unscientific, try placing a thermometer in the soil, you'll probably see 60 degrees.

  • ty for the update. i just started my first worm bins last week. we had our first two freezes here since then (~30F). i brought one of the bins inside so it is okay i guess the others left outside are okay too.

i figure it takes an extended "hard freeze" to really hurt them. i am glad you are getting good results. your report leads me to believe that mine are okay (even the ones left out in the cold).

  • Boy, I sure hope so. It looks to me like things will be ok as long as the bedding itself doesn't freeze. I really haven't pushed my luck that far yet. It has been above freezing, except for one night, so far.

  • Thanks for myth-busting!!

    :o)

  • If you really loved your worms you would bring them in the house for the winter. lol
