The MD of this song is none other than Naushad! When released, this 78 rpm record featured the Rafi ghazal "Tera husn mana badi cheez hai, mera dil bhi aakhir koi cheez hai" on the flip side, with Naushad as MD! What a double-sided hit record.
Especially when Mukesh starts the verse on a rising note..."Bahaare' chaman me' jab ayaa karengii, nazaron ki mehfil sazaya kangengi..nazare' bhi hum ko hasaa.n na sakenge'... ", my heart just drops ...."ke' ab zindagi me' mohabbat nahi hein, mohabbat nahi hein." Indeed Mukesh's masterpiece! One can listen to the song umpteen times & its charm never fades. Jiyenge' magar muskura na sakenge', ke' ab zindagi me' mohabat nahi hein." And Suhanee ji, those soulful "lonely" picture, great job!!
Most touching! Mukesh's voice had that special flavor which touched the soft sentimental chord in one's heart. Even a simple song then would be remembered forever. Thanks Suhanee ji.
THIS MUST BE ONE OF MUKESH'S FINEST GEET & GHAZAL RENDITIONS . I WAS INFORMED BY SOMEBODY THAT WHEN MUKESH ATTENDED AN ARMY FUNCTION IN NEW DELHI , THE UNANIMOUS CHOICE TO OPEN THE PROGRAM WAS UNDOUBTEDLY THIS GREAT GHAZAL OF HIS . IT WILL REMAIN IMMORTAL.
I do not know how many times I was asked to sing this Mukesh's Ghazal during my college days at Delhi Ploytechnic, Kasmiri Gate,Delhi(1955-59). My all time favorite

If I may b given a chance to select only one Non filmi Gazal of Great Mukesh. I will surely give preference to this one, as am lover of this gazal for many decades.
I have no words to express Thanks! In my college days in mid sixties, some of us Mukesh lovers used to sing and listen to this song hundreds of time. I have herd it today after 45 years!
Thank you Suhanee for such a detailed information about Mukesh , my favourite singer, This is my favourite song and I had sung it more than 15 months back,Today while listening to my version , I came across your upload, your collection of old gems is enormous and you put in lot of efforts and labour in preparing your videos which is evident from the beautiful pictures you put in this video..
I have sent my version as video response to this.please accept.
there are many beautiful ghazal/geets of mukesh and Jiyenge magar muskurana is one of them. and another ghazal sunaau'n kya mein gham apna zuban tak la nahin sakta is also one of the best.
This song, Do Zulmi Nainan Hum Pe Zulm Karein , and Ai Jaane Jigar by Mukesh convinced me a long time ago that no male voice was as sweet as that of Mukesh. I stand by my conviction to this day.His range was limited , but what magic he wrought even with that limitation. Thanks, Suhanee.

Where will we find another Mukesh with so much depth and resonance, pathos or dard. Those men who created such beauty were immortals
