  • Wow! 4:15, David looks like the lead singer in Maroon 5! that's weird....

  • @RemusTonks555 his beard is a little thicker than Adam Levine's but he kind of does look similar yeah!

  • He does look like a bit of a donut!

  • Where's part 9-10 ?

  • " I've done my best "

" I'll do mine " <----- First time through this whole thing I choked up really badly, dunno why, it was just so sincere and you can tell he really wants to try and be better, he really loves his family.

  • Trisha can be a selfish bitch at times; yes, she might be the one who has to live with Alan's behaviour, but it's not like he can help it.

  • That mother-in-law is horrible.

  • stupid mother-in-law... I bet if she really had him in her home for more than a month her tune would change.

  • Thank you for uploading! This is amazing.

  • He's getting better, I feel so bad for him, that bitch!

  • Incedible performances from all involved especially DT it must be so hard to act so differently when there is nothing wrong with you I love it when he is with joel at bedtime its exactly as you would picture David as a dad he will make some child very happy some day. If he's this good here the new drama he is doing called "Single Father" will be amazing !!! Good Luck David

  • There is so much pressure on her from everyone!

  • I love the bit where he's with his son, and explaining what's wrong with him? If that makes sense. It's so cute and fatherly, and makes me smile because it's like he is on the mend, and he's trying :)

  • This is one of the most heartbreaking and frustrating films I've ever seen. There's such a lack of practical advice and support from EVERYONE around Tricia and Alan, and even when they can see that they can't cope ('he's on antidepressants, and I'm self-medicating') they just react angrily. And Alan's parents shouting in front of Joel is no good, and Alan's friend's speech about he's pathetic probably did more harm than good.

This film really opened my eyes :(

  • She's just running away from her problems, thats not very much of a wife or a mother is it?

  • We've all run away from problems in our life, it doesn't make us less of a person. 'Burnout' and all that...

  • "I don't know why I'm doing this, I couldn't make dinner before the fucking accident." Hehe.

  • this drama didn't half make me cry. david tennant is such a brilliant actor. <3

  • DT is a fantastic actor! What a strong performance.

  • And Tricia, with not a lick of guilt...

  • Alan's parents need to just shut the F up! They have NO idea what Tricia is going through... NO IDEA what it's like to have the shell of the person you once loved and who loved you walk around. His mom is just a b*tch - good for him he decided to stay with his family. You go, Alan!

  • Omg when he got mad, when he was cooking I started bawling. It's such a great movie!

  • yeah but richard hammond didn't wake up as a different person did he. he was fine and back on top gear soon. Alan woke up not as Tricia's husband but as someone else, someone Trish didn't recognise. you can't compare this to Richard Hammond. Every case of brain damage is different, you can't compare one to another.

  • what happened to richard hammond

  • He was in a high speed car accident whilst filming for top gear. He almost died.

  • You can't know what his wife thought of. And besides, just because someone hasn't been physically damaged doesn't mean that emotionally and mentally they're 100% okay. I mean I'm not excusing her but think how rough it's got to be on someone when the happy life they had before is ripped away from them. It can't be easy in any sense of the word.

  • Aw, When he got in the bed with the little boy! He'd be good as a dad. (:

  • The mom is harsh on her! I mean she is being put on a strain! I fell so sorry for Allen!

  • I don't get you people...

Getting pissed off at Tricia and their son...

Imagine your husband, your soulmate, or you dad turning into someone completely different. Someone who gets aggresive and then suddenly starts crying like a baby, someone who you have to care for all of a sudden...

Just 'cuddling' that person doesn't help!

This movie portrays those difficulties beautifully AND realistically...

I'd like to see all you people try to manage if something like this happens...

  • you're so right - not that that makes it "ok" to deal with it in a stupid way, but it is SO easy to judge and say "they should have dealt with it better", but when each day is just a struggle to cope, to not go mad - very few people would have the strength of character to get through that without doing or saying things when they "should know better".

  • I see that being realistic about that earns negative votes... not surprised!

  • I concur 100%! You took the words right from me. This movie takes an ambiguous, difficult, misunderstood topic and beautifully puts it into picture for those who don't understand.

  • That bit with Alan cuddling his son was both completely adorable and utterly heartrenching. I'm crying AGAIN, damnit!

  • The bit with Alan and Joel was so sweet.

  • I don't care what anyone else says, "selfish c**t" sums up how I feel about Tricia about now

  • I Agree !

  • Oh nice, I have an opinion and I get negative votes?

  • Joel's reaction when he opens the door to his grandparents. Hehe.

  • how can she do that to him? its really sad poor alan i really hope they work thru this does anyone elsE?

  • He's trying so hard he's going to do it xx

  • omg i just burts into tearts when he said ''ill do mine'' this is like the saddest thing ever :/

  • This is amazing everyone should see this it might change some of the bigotry associated with brain injury.

  • Yes THIS movie and Regarding Henry are the two BEST movies about this!!!

  • phantomphan85 I want Sarah Parish Babies! hehehe

  • Aw, Joel at 3:59, bless his heart xx

  • Love the pinny and I love him too xx

  • lol... the time just happened to be exactly 6:10... riiiiiggghhtt...

  • i love that duncan donhuts bit!

  • I am definitely going to feel the effects/influence of this movie emotionally AFTER I finish watching it; I'm gonna cry then. I don't feel horrible now, cuz I'm too into the movie. Anyone have the same?

  • GOD that mother in law is soooo bloody cheeky....this is so sad though, can't believe it. Amazing acting!!

  • Duncan, Duncan.. Donuts, Duncan Donuts, that's how I'll remember you. ...And you look like bit of a donut, so that's quite good.

    :D Amazing

  • I hated the part where Tricia wanted to abandon him. I know she had been through alot and it is a very difficult situation. She took marriage vows for better or for worse. Life isn't easy. You can never predict what is going to happen, but you don't abandon your loved ones when they need you the most.

  • That scene with Alan and the son in bed... I didn't realize I was smiling until about 2 minutes later. It was so cute.

  • David looks so cute when hes with his "son" in bed near the end. I bet he'd make a great dad. A truly breathtaking actor. Sarah is also an amazing actress.

  • Collywobbles sunflowers cauliflowers LMAO

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! funny but sad! x x x x

  • poor woman...

  • was that beging after the accident because is the first time i've seen the video camara witch makes me think he gets a bit better at least

  • I'm fairly certain the very beginning - with the credits - was there to show you how amazing they actually were together before the accident, just to make the entire thing THAT much more painful and heartwrenching to watch.

  • first time i have started crying for more then half an hour for a tv show

  • "Eight of nine. Enjoying yourself?" <---are you kidding?! This is amazing!

  • I love David Tennant in this but the wife is a bitch! She's selfish! I understand she's upset but he NEEDS her!

  • I agree, but put yourself in her shoes. She does need some time to herself to wind down. Although not in the way she did...now that was selfish.

  • She needs him, though. And while she's there trying to help him, he's totally unresponsive. I can't imagine being put in that position. Even though she was a bit hopeless in dealing the situation, it takes enormous strength of character to be a full-time carer. To be thrust into that position with no warning, and having to deal with the reality of having to care for a personality which has murdered that of your soulmate, would be impossible for most people.

    This story's awesome. Cheers, mc9.

  • your so right:D thumbs up:D

  • you're dead right. my mum was a full time carer for my dad for several years... it nearly did her in. for that to happen with no warning... it's so easy to judge but people don't realise the strength of character required just to get out of bed each day when this is what your life would be like.

  • @Libintia Love means taking care of someone even when they can't appreciate it. I think the reality of that ideal is what this part of the story is based on.

  • OMG i love harry treadaway in this movie!!!

  • She's complaining about him leaving her becasue he said it was too hard. Now look what she's doing! She figures since it's too hard, and that he'll never be the same Alan again, she might as well pack up the boys and leave. But she doesn't realize what a good wife she can be BY HELPING HIM!!!!!

  • she alrdy cheted on him now shes going for his best friend!?!?! what a whore!!!!

  • i want david tennant's babies! hehe

  • I thought the mother in law was going to go off on her.

GAH this entire program is just fantastic. Not just David.

  • oh thankS for uploading, cant beleive i missed it when it was shown on the old beeb.

i mena, two of my fave actors, mr tennant and harry Treadaway, its a must-see

    brilliant drama!

  • they arent there all the time! how dare they say such things.

  • Duncan... Dunkin' Donuts, that's how I'll remember it, and you look like a bit of a donut, so that helps.
