  • That scene is just magnificent ! The emotion when he takes her hand and the music.. <3

  • LOVE THE VIOLINS!!!!!! PERFECT !!!!!!!!!!

  • for those 2 who dislike this movie, have something to tell their...go to hell ignorants.

it's a beatifull scene,my heart shake everytime that i see it

  • One of the best movies ever made ..... Sad that it was sooooo under appreciated.

  • I love this movie, and this is one of my favorite scenes. The score by James Newton Howard is just brilliant, especially during this part. The slow-mo just makes it more perfect. Joaquin is a god in this! Sad that he's now kind of crazy-like.

  • One of the hottest film-scenes ever!

  • I didn't think this was a bad movie. Critics are douches sometimes.

  • They mostly come out at night, mostly.

  • makes me get chills

  • Wonderful <3

I love how her hands are not tidy and perfect, very realistic and natural.

3.13 there's a kid trying not to laugh XDD The three-year-old beside him is a better actress

  • 2:05 for major goosebumps

  • <3 James Newton Howard GENIUS. The Great Eatlon is amazing too!

  • This scene made the movie

  • And I thought only i felt this way about it!

  • Umm anyone notice that the window is open (the drapes flutter from the breeze) as Lucious takes her hand and runs inside?lol So much for well-rounded protection from the intruder's.

  • @Minute158 I'm pretty sure that was just from the draft of Ivy and Lucius' movement near the door.

  • My favorite scene in the movie is when he grabs her hand. The change of music is just beautiful.

  • I 100% agree that this is the romantic scene ever made--its simplicity is exquisite and its wholesome humanness is incredibly beautiful!! She's courageous without seeming "helpless;" there's nothing chauvinistic about this scene. But perhaps since there's no sex and superficial, degrading, primitive bullsh-t under the disguise of "individual empowerment" and agency and appealing to our ignorance rather than our transcendent ideals, the rest of Hollywood might be hard pressed to agree...

  • Amazing scene. Amazing music. Amazing photography. Amazing actors. Just an AMAZING FILM.

  • even though the movie gave me the goosebump of those monsters, the movie ROCKED!!

  • *slow mo seconds re going on*

Girl in my class: HURRY UP GAWD!!!

    Me: DON'T WORRY YO, it's just slow mo~ B)

  • @atikker that's because they can't see the movie with their heart and minds...we are watching it in 10th grade English and learning s much from it...ITS AMAZING!!!

  • Bryce and Joaquin are awesome together. Long live Ivy and Lucius!

  • I thought this movie was amazing, I'm so sad none of the critics like it.

  • id get a group of the toughest guys in town and beat the fuck outta that piece of shit when it came

  • That slow mo secuence is just gorgeous, the shots and the actors are incredible in those seconds.

  • kk the one seen where he helps that old lady and then turns the corner and 2 seconds later one of those we don't speak of comes into the screen, wouldn't it have seen him? Just asking, and when I first saw this scene I squeled and screamed yes and got popcorn all over the room lol :D GO LOVE!!!!

  • @iMightjustbecrazy **SPOILERS** I thought that too when I first watched it. Then I thought.....well if the creatures were the elders all along, they didn't want him to die because him and ivy needed to populate the village. they needed to carry on their work. So obviously they wouldn't kill him, even if he WAS seen. Just my thoughts. Who knows what M Night was thinking.

Def one of my favorite films ever.

  • @BizarroEntertainment I guess your right, they would want to keep him around so I see your point. Thanks for clearing that up for me and I agree its one of my favorite films too, not what I thought it would be when I first saw it but I still love it!

  • @iMightjustbecrazy :D No prob! :D me either! I was confuzzled, and I had to really think it through. :/

  • @BizarroEntertainment omg lol you stole my term confuzzled lol :D thats so cool

  • William Hurt, Adrian Brody and Bryce Dallas Howard are the best parts. I love William Hurt's speech with the elders after he sends Ivey to the "towns"

  • @warriorfight111 Thats my favorite scene!

  • Ah, such a magnificient and---dare I say it?---one of the most romantic scenes I have ever seen. Not all mushy and full of Shakespearean monologues, but the simple act of protecting someone, being a comfort. No words necessary.

Simple soundtracks with the same few instruments, excellent use of lighting for warmth and the color, too. M. Night. Shyamalan truly makes masterpieces. His works could be movies first, but best-selling novels after.

  • beautiful music, beautiful scene

  • Music made the scene!

  • <3 so beautifull!

  • 2:07...that's when the scene goes from good to full blown INCREDIBLE<3

  • did anyone else get serious Diablo II flashbacks when they first saw Those-we-don't-speak-of? cause I did.

  • If I ever happen to be in danger of being killed by monsters I hope I get saved by my true love....

  • i just saw the movie tho an it was beautiful!!! this part the best one an she is amazing Bryce Dallas i love you ^^^

  • Agreed! Awesome! It is nice to know the world still remembers passion, romance, and true love - the noble elements of life and the spirit.

  • i never noticed that there was one of the 'monsters' approaching when she held her hand out and he grabs it... shows how much i pay attention aye? ha:) this seen is amazing!

  • What a magnificent scene!I love Joaquin

  • I love this scene. It makes me proud to be a Male. Men listen up, this is your obligated duty as a guy. Protect the ones you love. Especially your Women.

  • it's so romantic, the music is perfect!!! Very beautiful scene.

  • @CommanahumOfficial yes i feel the same way too

  • What truly got me was 2:17. That was camera work at its absolute finest.

  • this film is very underrated

  • I'm in love with this film ...

specially this scene .its so romantic!!!!

  • I'm in love with this film ... specially this scene ....its so romantic!!!!.........

  • PURE GENIUS! goosebumping!

  • I thought I was the only who felt this way about this scene, good to see others agree. It's absolutely brilliant.

  • Beautiful...beautiful music and everything.

  • What song is it when he takes her hand? gravel road?

  • @taybo1993 It's called "Those We Don't Speak of", closer to the end of the song.

  • why isn't james newton howard a multi-oscar winning composer instead of multi-oscar nominated composer. it doesn't make sense to me.

  • @MrHPsauce01 I completely agree!!! He is my favorite film composer!!! All of his scores are so complex and multi-faceted. He’s amazing!!! :)

  • Instead of high-tech special effects, blood, exploding cars, super zombies and traps, this movie stands here in a majestic way and shines as one of the brightests stars at the nightsky of motion pictures. Why? Because of THIS kind unique moments, made out of great story, unbelieveable music and the magic, that connect it, and which reminds us being human beings and leaving a magical feeling behind, some people called "goosebumps".

This is movie is pure ART, instead of SAW XXVII and other s**t.

  • yes, this scene is very moving comparable to tarantino's kill bill vol. 2 - a scene where the bride used the 5 point palm exploding heart technique to finish bill.

  • the part where he saves her is probabley the moment i fell in love with joaquin phoenix

  • @buffytariq Know just how you feel.

  • @buffytariq Oh, he's so lovely and great actor too---loved him forever...

  • cinematic history being made and a truly romantic and captivating scene form the wonderful film the Village

  • I love this scene. It is so beautiful. Yes it gives me goosebumps, and I love it.

  • This is one of the best movies ever! and the score is just breath taking.

  • this scene is scary the first time you watch it

  • what an incredible power, made out of music and light.

  • See This Movie!!!

  • here comes the goosebumps
