You must FULLY repent tho. This means to fully feel all of your emotions regarding your error (sin). Once ALL of it is felt it is then impossible for you to repeat that action. God created emotions as a sort of truth system. IF you feel all emotions regarding any action or thought , you are paying the debt.. Most religion teaches you only need to "pretend" to be good.
